Feature Request - Change Control based on UserID
We're monitoring a great deal of devices in our organization with OpManager now. We have the unlimited license, which allows us to create users etc.,
Since in my group alone, we each are assigned user logins with full control over the objects in OpManager, we need some accountability in OpManager for changes which have been made. I found the other day 3 devices which has been "unmanaged" by a user. The problem with that is should any problems occur on that device, fingers would be pointing as to why there were no alerts sent from OpManager. We'd like to see which user logon made the change, and what time etc.
We'd like logging for:
Monitors added or removed
Devices added or removed
Devices unmanaged or managed
Notifications added or removed
Beyond accountability, each person on my 5-person team, is assigned as primary to particular servers. That primary administrator has a better understanding of what needs and what needs not be monitored on a given server. So it would be very helpful to me, to see that the primary on a server, removed a monitor, that way I would know that monitor was no longer needed.
I've been working on a spread sheet to list out what exactly we are monitoring, and I realized it really just needs to be laid out in a table of Devices, a list of all possible monitors for each device with the boolean variables of yes or no. With the changes of those variables, recording the user, who made the most recent change, and the time. I'd actually like a small history of changes to be kept.
Would something like that be doable on yourside to add to OpManager?
