hi, How can I choose only one alarm from all alarms which I got from BCM 50. I need only one alarm from critical group. And I need to send this only one alarm by mail without another from critical group.

Switch errors not showing?
In OPManager, we add monitoring of a managed switch. The switch shows SNMP statistics as well, but shows errors such as collisions, FCS errors, etc, but the OPManger shows no errors. It shows all the traffic, but no errors. We're using the latest version of OPMAnager.

Hi! One of our customers want to have customized page, where he wants to have graphs about different devices/servers all on one page. One idea is also, they will have it on big screen somewhere, to show current network status. Can this be done and if yes, then in what way? We ahve skills in java and other scripting languages. slow response times
Can someone please explain to me the following in opmanager 5.5 , in the service monitors section it is stating the following Monitors Service Monitors 0/2 monitors down. Name Status Port Response Time (ms) tomcat 8080 4491 Web 80 4491 Show / Hide Monitors this indicates that it is taking about 5 seconds to connect to that port yet when i telnet into these ports it is instant and connects with in a few seconds I presume the slowness is due to other servers being monitored? if not what is the correct
OpManager not polling
I have a trial installation of OpManager on Red Hat 7.3, but it does not appear to be polling SNMP. I observer the following... - I am able to do a snmpget from the command line using v1 and v2c - I am able to use the MIB browser - I am able to look at Asset Details, Installed Software, and Active Process - I am able to see SNMP request attemps in the log file of a target server - I am not able to see results from SNMP monitors - I am not able to test SNMP monitors using the same OIDs I successfully
Cisco ASA5520 Firewall Support
Anyone have an ASA55xx that they are monitoring? Mine gets detected as a "Computer" (with a blue star). When I change it to a PIX firewall it still doesn't monitor correctly. If I click on an interface I get a blank web page. What do I need to do to monitor it correctly? For those who don't know, the ASA is the next generation PIX firewall. They still run the PIX code (7.xx currently).

Scripted changes to OpManager nodes
Hello, I'm evaluating using OpManager to monitor a cluster of a couple hundred servers. I would like to easily be able to add and remove nodes from OpManager as the cluster is modified. Is it possible to do this through scripts, by modifying config files, or though the MySQL database? Hand entering nodes would be a bit too time consuming for our needs.
I see cpu/mem/disk usage gauges but no details
I can get the gauges to show the proper values but when I try to see the process statistics I get Process Details are not available. I have RPC, WMI and SNMP are all running. Three other servers work correctly but this one has a slightly different setup. It is running windows 2003 with ISA 2004 on it. For troubleshooting I have allowed all connections from the Agent computer to the ISA server. Is there something else I should be looking for?

This script returns 1 or 0 depending on the property value. Custom event log not working
Hi, I am trying to monitor the event log and alert as follows EventID = 26 Source = Application Popup Event Type = All ticked I can see the event in the event log, but no alarms are triggered in OpManage. I have added the customer filter to the server i am interested in What am i missing?
OpManager V6 SP1 lost conection to MSSQL and service down
Hi Opamanger Gurus I have this problems qith Opamanger V6 SP1 i have a Database MS SQL 2000 SP4 and my Opamanger service down aand every time in the wapper.log i have the message the conection with datra base is lost restar the server. Opamanger lost the MS SQL conection and the opermanager down. Soeme one has the same problems? Sonme boby tell me how are to fix this ? Regards Jorge
Performing bulk moves into different device categories
Is it possible to move many devices between devices categories all at once? For instance, many of my routers are discovered and placed into the Desktop category during network discovery. Is there a way in OpManager for me to select these and move them into the Routers category without doing this one by one?
Reboot notification?
I would like have an email notification sent to me if any of my servers reboot (we have an application that we need to restart upon reboot and it reboots every 5 days). Any ideas on what kind of monitor I could add that would cover a reboot? Maybe there is a service that would stop like the Server service that might best indicate a reboot has occured? Business Views & removing device labels
Dont know if this can be done or not, but I have a background that already has site names on it, however when i add a device it always has the device name listed, and I cannot find a way to remove it, so it ends up making the overall image look bad. Is anyone aware of a workaround or have i blindly missed an option Cheers, Bob.
lotusnotes monitor
hi, we just want to montior the lotus notes server. the machine on which the lotusnotes application running is snmp enabled, i just add the lotus notes monitoring by defining the parameter we need. after a couple of hours, it doesn't give us the data. is there something i missed? could you please guide us how to do it. how to free-up the port 162
hi, we tried to configure the opmanager setup by increasing the ping timeout. we stop the opmanager server and later we start it again but when i execute the startopmanager.bat it sez the opmanager cannot recieve traps coz port 162 was occupied. how to fre-up the port 162 or is it ok to use another port instead? if possible how? i suspect also that this is the reason why almost all of our servers doesn't show-up the data even those are snmp enabled and has a correct snmp parameters. pls help!

Firstly when i attempted to follow the business view how to demo, i saw in the demo the admin client. This had, down the side of it, business views, alarms, networks, etc etc. When i attempted to open admin client in my installation of opmanager, i found only opmanager map maker. I have a few multi-homed servers (Windows 2003) that are showing up as separate instances within Opmanager. How can I combine two separate devices as a single entity with two interfaces?

Instead of making the same downtime schedule over and over for each 'infrastructure category' if I do 'select devices' then 'select all' will it also do any new devices that I add? What you need is a 'silence all' button.
Adding MIB's
Hello, I have downloaded some MIB's for Imail and Sony and want to add them to opmanager. I have putted the files in the mibs folder and when i click on load MIB, they are visible in the list, but when I select them and click here on load (see printscreen) , the file isn't loaded. Does it maybe have to do with the evaluation edition or something else maybe? Thanx in advance
info 128 error
I try to add a new device (Linux) to monitor by Opmanager. The login and passwd had been configed. But while add a resource monitor , the screen will prompt Info 128 will RED icon. then display the login details page again. Do you know what's the problem of this ? Many thanks ~~~

Hi, We have OpManager 5.6. When we want to discover services on devices (click on "Click [here...] to discover services from device.") we have (for all machines) an error. ==> Just a blank page with "Error !" I have uninstalled et installed several times but doesn't work anyway. I tried with v6 and same thing... Any help appreciated, thanks.
Managing Domain Controllers without Active Directory Monitor
After installing Opmanager version 6.0 we where able to use the Active Directory Monitor free for one month. After this month we are not able to manage the domain controllers at all. We don't want to go back to version 5.6. We still do get alarms but are not able to change the parameters. What solution is possible?
Dashboard displaying N/A for my Domain Controllers.
All, I am having a problem with monitoring my DC's. I have the AD license and when I first added my DC's to Opmanager, their Dashboard's displayed properly. However, after around 24 hours, the dashboard for every DC began displaying N/A. If I unmanage all the devices and then remanage them, everything starts filling back in. However, I have to do this everyday. Any ideas? It is only happening to my 12 DC's, the monitored servers under the Servers container are not having this issue. -galen
