Service availability reports
We're currently evaluating Opmanager as our new monitoring tool. I think my question has been asked in the past, however I didn't find a conclusive answer... Currently it's possible to create a report with server availability, although this is nice to see I would like to have a report which gives an overview of service(s) availability in the same way (a ping check is not enough to see whether an applicationservice is still providing services). Can this already be done in Opmanager or is this something
Quick time out
After I login, it times me out for security reasons less than a minute later? I am using the free version.
Help with my Server View-'Detail' Services
Ok I got two identical machines both serving say telnet, dchp, web, etc Now in my Servers 'Detail' view, one of them doesnt have a 'dot' under the correspondign collumn. Now this dot doesnt even reappear if i do discovery manually. How do I know for sure that the service is being monitored? If say DNS goes down, will I get an email? Another question-if a device is Unmanaged-I won't recieve an email/alarm on it if it goes down correct? (I don't want to force a test) Unmanaged is just like keeping

Cannot scan Workstation with Windows Domain Scan
Dear All I'm using SD Trial Version : 5.0.0 Build Number : 5003. Installed in Server with O/S RH Linux AS Ver.3 For Domain Controller / Domain, I'm using a Server with O/S Windows 2003 Server, in this case the network firewall is not active / No Firewall. Custom Monitor works in MIB-Browser but not with device
Hi, I am using a network-device to monitor the temperature in my computer-room. This device is capable of snmp-requests. So I added the device, entered the OID in my MIB-Browser and it works perfectly. I then added a custom monitor for my device, but whenever I test this monitor I get an error. I even have a mib-file for this device, but it does not help. I deleted the custom monitor and created it new quite often, but it does not work. I there any possibilty to monitor the temperature and add threshholds?
Access to web interface stops after ~ 1 hr restart of OpM

Hello, I have problems on my dashboard after I applied the 6003 patch. [list=1:db5ec3537d] *  The Box which contains "Router with High CPU Utilization - Last 24 Hours" doesn't appear, the box is fully empty but however I get CPU reports on my routers. *  I get a very high response time in Application box on several devices too. NB: I seem to have the same problem than you in your online demo regarding these two problems. Please, can you advise me, if you have any solution for these issues?

Unable to setup mail server
Hi Guys, I am trying to set up mu mail server on Opmanager 6. We use virtual SMTP server on port 25 from exchage server. I tried the connectiona with telnet: telnet <exchange mail server> 25 and it connects successfully. But when I try the same setting in the Opmanager i get following error: "Unable to connect to the mail server. Please check if the Mail service is running on the specified port." Please advise. Clear Reported Data
Is there a way in OpManager to clear the reporting data for devices without deleting the devices themselves. We don't want to reinitialize the database and have to re-add all the devices. Thanks.
Business view problems
Hi, We have today purchased a license for OpManager and started to configure it to monitor our large scale network. Most of the problems we are facing are in the Map Editor. 1- I cannot add Linux servers to a business view (I have not tried Windows servers yet). What happens after adding the servers, they don�t show up and the funny thing is they disappear from the list of available devices. The business view shows the number of devices equal to 0. 2- If I put a link between to routers but do not

Monitoring an APC UPS
I set up my APC SmartUPS 5000. I gave it an IP address and set the SNMP information. I was able to discover it and it was found as a desktop, so I changed the device information. It has the blue star next to it however all of the status info says N/A. What should I do?

SSH v2 support
I thought you had a patch somewhere to enable ssh v2 support under OpManager. I'm in the process of redoing the config and moving to a different monitor server, and can't find any reference to it anymore. Right now I get "Cannot add Monitor. Currently the SSH version 2.0 is not supported." when I try to add a CLI monitor.
Watchguard OID/MIB returns correct value only in MIB Browser
I loaded my Watchguard MIB into MIB Browser and queried my firewall and received the correct "tunnel Peer address" which is the correct IP address of the client (peer) making a VPN connection to the firewall. The OID queried is: .1.3.6.1.4.1.4355.6.5.1.2.1.3 which says it is read only and is "The remote IP address of the current tunnel" The syntax is IpAddress. Cannot add URL monitor
Hi there, When i try to add a URL monitor, not just the standard www.xx.yy, but with trailing directives like http://www.xx.yy/directive1/file_underscore_test1.aspx it gives me an error: XX is down, Reason : Host Unavailable I guess it has something to do with the underscores in the URL monitor or is the URL monitor not capable of monitoring aspx files? custom SNMP counters stop working...
I've created some custom SNMP monitors. Everything works fine but after few days they stop working - when I click on monitor it returns N/A. But if I click EDIT and then TEST - it starts and I got chart - from moment I pressed TEST. Could you help me? michael.ivanov@3genius.com

Schedule Reports -- Wish List
1. Subject Line on Email - user definable-- include business view name (where applicable). Currently Ive included a project team on the email of scheduled reports for their project servers on a weekly basis. Is there an an issue with regard to configs back-ups if SSH has been used in downloading the initial config. It seems, The backed-up router config, when used to restore, would not have all features like SSH keys to enable full restoration. regards,
2 questions: more than 1 port/device and other port than 161
Hi. We want to get snmp data from a MS Enterprise Server. First question: Is it possible to get data from the standard MS SNMP Agent on port 161 and in the same device data from a third party agent, running on i.e. port 163? If yes, then how? Second question: We have a third party agent running on port 163. I can't get any data in OPManager on that port. When I set the agent on port 161, OPManager ist getting data. On port 163 never. (By adding the device we told OPManager to use port 163) What to
web client won't start
I'm using the latest build of Opmanager v6. Whenever I try to start the web client it comes up 'page cannot be displayed' with http://localhost:9090 in the address bar. Anyone come across this before?
Printer Alarms
Is there a way to prevent OpManager from creating an alarm for all printer messages? We don't need an alarm to come up for messages like "Tray is Open." We just need to know if the printers are up or down (pingable or not). Thanks.
Archiving scheduled
I noticed from the file : "logs/stdout.txt" this message "Archiving scheduled" every hour! What this is means? OpManager's data have archives somewhere in the system? Thanks, Paul
