Custom Monitor works in MIB-Browser but not with device

I am using a network-device to monitor the temperature in my computer-room.
This device is capable of snmp-requests.
So I added the device, entered the OID in my MIB-Browser and it works perfectly.
I then added a custom monitor for my device, but whenever I test this monitor I get an error.
I even have a mib-file for this device, but it does not help. I deleted the custom monitor and created it new quite often, but it does not work.
I there any possibilty to monitor the temperature and add threshholds?
