Device Types
I am using Opmanager 6. I did a network discovery. I then went and re-assign devices to their proper type. This worked for the majority of devices. I have a few though that will not list in the designated category. They remain in the original group. For example: I have several Wireless basestations that were originally classified as switches. I have since changed the type to Wireless. Unfortunately, they still are listed in the Switches group. I have tried creating a new device type and queried the
Trial License to Free Edition
I have been evaluating the Pro version on OpManager 6. I have determined that i only need the free version to continue with my needs. My eval license has expired. Is there anyway that I can transition the product to the free version so that i do not have to setup the monitors again.
Email alert is not respecting the "Device misses 3 poll
I have two profiles configured in Notification Profiles. Both are configured equal, also in the part of Device misses "3" polls. In a server I have the two profiles configured. The problem is that in the one of them soon after first device miss already sends an email saying that the server is out and soon after that sends another one saying that is up again. In this profile is not waiting the "Device misses 3 polls". I created new profile and the problem also happens. Somebody can help me? TKS Renato

Hello, I keep on seeing support repond with... "If you have any discrepancies in SNMP based responses, try to configure WMI/TELNET/SSH based resource monitors." Which leads me to believe that SNMP monitoring of CPU, Memory, and Disk is completely broken in OpManager. Since some of us can't use telnet or SSH version 1 to monitor our servers, this means the product will not monitor CPU, memory, or disk utilization. Device Type
I've just downloaded the OpManager 30 day version. I've done the discovery and some things were obviously not identified properly. what I'd like to do is edit the device type so that it shows up properly in the gui. For example, my routers are using some default icon instead of the Cisco icon listed in the Device Types under the Global Settings of the Admin section. If we can't change them, then why do they have them all listed in that section? Any ideas
Novell Netware NLM monitor
Is it possible to monitor which NLMs are running and create an alarm when one stops running? I can see the running applications from the devices page, but I can see no way of monitoring it. Thanks, Michael

AD Store not on C-drive
I'm using OpManager Enterprise 6.0 build 6002. I've added two domain controller to monitor, but the Active Directory store is not stored on de C-drive. The store is installed on d:\winnt\ntds\ntds.dit I changed the Database Monitors -> Database Size monitor to look at the file on the d-drive. That works. But in the dashboard there's also information about the free and total disk size. But this information is still from the C drive (Stated above the data) I don't have the option to change these two
Excluding IP ranges for discovery
We have the following issue: Our internal networks use B-class address blocks for various location. Say location A has the network 10.100.0.0/16. OpManager of course discovers this and starts to auto discover everything in that network. Unfortunately a part of this network is populated with client machines that are very transient and do DHCP so can have any IP address out of a given range (10.100.100.0 - 10.100.100.255). Is there a way to EXCLUDE a subrange from a network from the discovery process?
Netware servers - No disksize in device asset.
Hello. Can someone please tell me how I can make OpManager collect disk information via SNMP. If I look at Asset Details on a Netware server, it don't show any harddisk info. If I try to add it, after upgrade to bulid 6004, I get an error. This error is telling me to provide a value for RAM. The RAM value is already populated, and it won't accept any value. If I use the standalone MIB browser - I can collect harddisk info from Netware servers, but not from the Web Client. Does someone have similar

Hi I just upgraded the patch of windows recently released. But I found out that all object (including server, router and switches) no longer can be displayed. It also replied the error messages no this object with IP address. Anybody help

Hi, I would like monitor (Application Monitors) more than 1 SQL instance. By default, the default instance is available to be monitored. - do you have a workaround to select a specific instance (e.g. SERVERSQL$INSTANCE2) and a workaround to duplicate the server discovered? I have installed the eval version and ran discovery. I having a couple of issues with what is being discovered. First, OpMan is classifing almost all of my servers as Desktop and not finding the OS type. Second, it is not classifing any of my servers as Domain Controllers. I ran a discovery on the subnet for our servers, it appears that all of the servers were found. Thx, Eric

Hi everyone, Running OpManager on a windows2003 server. Is there a way to monitor specific processes for how much resources they are sucking up? I'd like to recieve notifications on certain processes when they are utilizing a certain amount of CPU or Memory. Is this possible? Thanks! Jeremy

Fortigate 3000 Firewall
I have a Fortigate 3000 firewall with multiple VLANs defined. When I attempt to monitor it with OPManager, I cannot get OPManager to monitor anything on this particular unit at all. It sees one interface, but I get no traffic stats, there is no CPU utilization or any other useful statistics. It is critical that I get this particular item monitored since it is our main backbone router. Could someone toss me an idea or two about how to get things going with this unit? how can I switch off automatic network and device discovery? it finds automatically too many devices, I don't need to monitor them, and it takes me a lot of time to delete them manuallyfrom the views. thank you.

OID issues
I am trying to create some custom monitors for CPU utilization but when I insert the OID (say .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.5.2), Opmanager adds ".0" resulting in invalid OID for CPU utilization. How can I avoid OpManager from forcing this?
Probe does not send 3COM interface details for some ports
I am having a 3com switch on one of my Probe. Model number 3C17701-US If I connect to the probe, I see all channels. I can click on the channels and I see trafic information etc. If I connect to the central, I see only channels up to 19 ( on the pictoral representation). If I click on the switch device, I see device details, and in the interface part at the bottom of the page, I see all channels, but for port 20 and up, rather than seeing counters in the RX TX utilizations, I see N/A ??? although,

If it is possible If a node that was unmanaged, any alarms acssociated with it would automatically clear.
OpManager support transient devices?
I want to monitor transient wireless devices on my network and be notified when they appear. Opmanager will not let you add a device unless it can find the device which makes this impossible. Is there a way to do this with OpManager or do you have other software that can do this? Thanks, Mike

I have upgraded Opmanager from 5.6 to 6 and now OpMan is 6003. Event Logs not setting Alarms Off
Hello, I have Opmanager configured and working, but I cannot get a server to set off alarms even though I have configured the options. I have checked the "Any Security failure" option and when I test this, my event log registers but no alert from Opmanager.
