Dear Sir/Madam, We are evaluating your product - opmanager v6.0. For business view, we found that it can not support chinese very well. Please refer to the below picture. we set up business view for test1 and chinese test(picture bs11.jpg and bs12.jpg) via your java client(StartOpmanagerClient.bat). But the chinese business view can show in Browser/Server(Please refer to bs1.jpg and bs2.jpg). I think that it is your product bug. Please tell me how fix it. Sunny
Going nuts with traffic monitors
Hello Everyone, We're just pulling our hair out with this. For now (because we can't get it working at the switch level) we're monitoring network at the server level. We run all Linux boxes. On one particular server we set a monitor to go off if the TX traffic exceeded 650 kbps (put 650 in for the value). We set the rearm at 575 kbps (put 575 in for the value). We started a process that produced a large volume of TX traffic. Sure enough the alarm went off (all good). Then we shut down our testing

Hi, It would be nice if you consider in your future update an option to display a list of devices and their assigned IP addresses. For example click on a particular subnet in Network View menu and have an option in the sort by to list the devices and their IP addresses sorted by IP address. Such an option is useful to keep track of assigned IP addresses in each subnet. Example: Router1 192.168.0.1 Router2 192.168.0.2 Switch 192.168.0.3 Regards, Ramzi
Mapmaker won't start anymore
Hello, We had mapmaker working and created some business views. I went to use it today to update the views and it's just hanging at "client initializing". I can see in the OpManager logs that it's connecting/logging into OpManager. The only thing that I can think of is that we deleted/added some devices and maybe that messed it up? Frank
Load MIB in MSP?
We are trying out the MSP version and I can't find the standalone MIB browser that was in the previous version of OpManager. Is there another way to load them?
Inventory Reports in Opmanager
Hello, I am evaluating Opmanager 6 & was wondering if there was any way to create custom 'Inventory Reports' that include 'Additional Fields' added through the adminstrative interface (i.e. serial number, cabinet, etc)? If this is not available via the existing GUI, is there any way I can develop my own and have them displayed in the 'Inventory Reports' section of the Reports page (of course, any pointers on how to do this would be helpful)? - Brian

Custom Dashboard
Hi all, I have (in my test environment) 3 member servers and 3 dc's (all running Win2003 Ent). i can get all the servers monitored without problem in Opmanager, but is there anyway I can all the servers in one view as my client wants to be able to view all servers and status of services etc in one screen without having to go clicking around. For instance, if I go to "infrastructure views" and choose "servers" I get my 3 member servers up. I've changed the view to "Details" and it shows them in a
Interface description incorrect on Cisco CAT IOS
On our Cisco switches running CAT IOS the interface name is not displying correctly for the switchports. They are all generically named "10/100 utp ethernet (cat 3/5)". When OpManager looks at the switches running Cisco IOS the description are correct. What is the fix for this?

generating my own reports
Hi, I want to know how to access the stats collected by opmanager so that i can create my own custom reports page, I only want to do basic things like the top 10 cpu,disk and memory utilization reports which opmanager does now. I'd just like to have it on its own page so everyone who wants to view them doesn't need access to opmanager. also this will allow me to provide comments on the reports to deal with high utilization. Any direction or documentation to help me with this is greatly appreciated
Restricting access to the Login Page???
Hi, I am just wondering what is the best way to secure the OpManager Login page. At the moment, it seems to be available to everyone... I have tried changing the ACLs on the folders under ME though the site still appears to everyone. Is there anyway to restrict access to the Login Page... Should I be looking for information on securing Tomcat? Apache? Thanks in Advance
Disabling Rediscovery
I wish to disable automatic rediscovery of networks. The setting will not allow this to be 0 or above 15. How can I disable this setting? Thanks Simon

Trouble adding standard WMI monitors (username/password)
Hi, I've just installed OpManager (latest version) on a 2003 box and adding WMI monitors for other 2003 servers on the network works fine as long as username is entered as hostname\username. We're NOT running a domain controller on the network. On the 2000 boxes, however, non of the WMI monitors work whichever permutaion of username/password I enter - I've tried hostname\username, hostname/username, username, etc. I've double checked that the services "Windows Management Instrumentation" "Windows
Can the CPU Usage alarm from OpManager 6 be copied into 5.6?
Good evening, I had recently upgraded to OpManager 6, however after an hour the system would just freeze and the web interface would die, requiring a reboot, which would last another hour, etc. Whilst using v6.0, i noticed that the CPU usage alarm also displayed the 3 most CPU intensive apps running. I would like to implement this in v5.6, whilst I am still attempting to get a stable copy of v6.0 running on a test PC. Is this possible? OpManager 5.6 EE (Probe and Central)
I am trying to use the OPmanager 5.6 EE with the PROBE Client. I installed Both Central And Probe on my local network (192.168.1.x) I discover Network, and everything went fine. Now I Install the Probe client only on a remote site connected to the network with a D-Link. I can access this remote site with xxx.dyndns.org. null community and poll to unmanaged interface
Hello, We are evaluating the product with several routers. Two of them have hundred of subinterfaces and we put them unmanaged. With ethereal, we are seeing that opmanager is polling them to get bandwith utilitation... to ALL INTERFACES! SNMP Problem ?
Hello, We are using OPMANAGER 6.0 Free version and we have installed it on a Windows XP machine. We are monitoring WINDOWS NT 4.0 servers. On several servers it works other doesn't work. We have 1 server that can't get any SNMP information at all but when we do a SNMP Query in de MIB browser it get's the information. But when we add for example the CPU Utilization Resource MOnitor it can't even connect to the SNMP Service. What is the problem ??? we have checked the server and rebooted it but it

Windows Service false alarm
I set up serveral Windows Service Monitors to my Windows Servers to monitor some services. All are up and running, but OpManager show me that one or more services are not up (for example Eventlog and lanmanserver). But they really are up. For other Windows services on the same device the monitor works correct. When I use "Add monitor" and then "Click [here...] to discover services from device." the Windows Services Eventlog and lanmanserver are showing correct as started.
Trial to Free Version and Keep Database and Config Settings
My intention was to install the free version, but it appears I installed the trial version or free version with trial components like AD monitoring. Now, it seems the trial version has expired. How can I install the free version and keep the configuration and data I setup with the trial version?

False Alarms for Services.
I've been getting a lot of false alarms for services recently. I've set it up so that I don't get notified till a device misses three polls, but there is no such option available to set a number of missed polls for services. I think this would be very useful. I hate waking up at 2 a.m. only to discover that the service is fine and for some reason just didn't respond to a poll. David.
Defragmentation
Hi All, Just wondering, We are having problems with Opmanager where the drive requires a routine defragmentation of the drive containing the database. Is there a good defrag program that Opmanager users can recommend that can keep the drive in good working order, without the need to stop all services to run Windows own defrag. ? The main issue is that the Hard disk is getting "Hammered" and thus prevents the database from being updated and causes slow performance when browsing from a remote pc. On

OPMANAGER and SQL
I am using a version 6.0 of OPMANAGER (I hape a version 5.5 that has been upgraded to 6.0) and would like to know how to change from MySQL to MSSQL. I have a MSSQL 2000. Any tips would be very welcome as my database using MySQL is not working properly. It seems that my indexes are getting a litle bit lost after the database reaches the size of 2GB. Hi, I just confused of how the OpManager monitor the switch. our switch (3com Superstack) has only 24 ports/interface on it but in OpManager, it shows 30 + ports/interface. why it happen and how to solve it? Please help!
