Asset detail not showing HD upgrade
Hi, I'm using Opmanager 6.0 One of my servers is showing 100% disk utilization. The reason for this is that we added extra HD capacity to the server but Opmanager doesn't reflect the change so actual disk usage exceeds HD capacity discovered at the very beginning. In OpManager version 5.6 the way to update asset details was through the java client on the server. On version 6.0 there is no java client, so how do I update asset detail? Wouldn't it be better to have this updated automatically when rediscover

How to monitor traffic?
Hello, We've had OpManager running for a week or so and now we have some baseline traffic graphs on our servers and switches. Today I went to setup some traffic notifications and I'm totally confused. - I would have liked to setup the monitors on the switch, but while you can view the traffic by port (at the bottom of the switch page) you can't seem to add an alarm/threshold. - If I choose "Interface Tx Traffic" under the traffic monitors of the switch it seems to show all the interfaces. OpManager as a Linux service
Hey all. OpManager script keeps needing X Windows running in order to start, so I launch an X session and start it in the background. Closing my X session kills OpManager process. Any ideas? Thanks
move opmanager to a new server
I know it's possible-but the search can't seem to find any documentation on it. What folders do I need to copy to move opmanager to another computer? Opmanager is already installed on the second server.
Opmanager MSP issues
I will try to keep the list as short as possible. 1.) where is MSSQL backend database support? 2.) As you tell a probe to discover a network and it finds a router, it queries the routers interfaces for thier network and subnet mask to allow for this network to later be activated and autodiscovered. Where do I find this discovered NEW network to tell it to autodiscover. CPU/Memory/Disk Dial on snapshot page
Hi, I'm using build 6002. The CPU/Memory/Disk Dial on snapshot page always show "Data not available". But when I use the "Edit" -> "Test Monitor" function to retrive the data manually. It's work every time. How to fix this problem? Tks. Sam.
Cisco switch 3750 and too many ports
Hi! Customer is using cisco 3750 switch and there are 3 times 28 ports visible in OpManager. Names are: GigabitEthernet1/0/28 GigabitEthernet2/0/28 GigabitEthernet3/0/28 The othe thing is, that there is no data about trafic on this devices. Any hints to make it work? Majkl

I have 4 identical 6509's in anycast, 3 of them show the 'interfaces' section when their in the router infrastructure view. The other one I have to move to switches to see all the ports? Any ideas?
Trap processor not working
Hi, I am evaluating OpManager (v 6003). I'm getting unsolicited traps from a custom agent. I want them to be show has an alarm so I used the Trap Processor. After that, I'm not getting unsolicited traps from the agent, but I'm not receiving alarm either . What wrong? Thanks for your support.
enhancement request - availability reports
Hi Is it possible for the following enhancement request to be considered... When clicking into a servers availability, you get a today, yesterday, last 7 days etc view of availability, which takes into account the services monitored on the server. What would be nice to have would be the following.. 1) Show all monitored services on the server (eg ports, nt services) in this screen with relevant breakdown of up/downtime. Right now it just shows that the server was down for X minutes, but doesnt tell
Added Windows Service Monitor not showing green light
Hi, I have added the OpManager services on my OpManager server to be monitored and the green rectangle is not showing on my server map. All my other servers show the rectangle. Any ideas? Adrian.
Polling time
Hi I am currently trying out the software. I want to check the status of all our servers. But I dont want them to be pinged together affecting network trafic. I know that you can change polling interval but I want polling interval to remain same. I want to carry out polling at different times for different servers. Exactly what I want is this: Polling interval: 5 mins. But each server polling to be conducted at different times. Is this possible in opmanager. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
SNMP Trap Processor
Hi, I have configured OpManager to monitor approximately 400 Aruba access points via snmp. The problem I am having is with the SNMP Trap Processor. By default the severity for the wlsxAccessPointIsUp trap is critical instead of clear. This is resulting in the alarm not getting cleared after an AP becomes available. If I manually change the severity status to clear for the wlsxAccessPointIsUp trap, OpManager stops receiving or maybe displaying this type of traps. Is there a way to fix this problem?
MIB Issue (URGENT)
I am currently testing OpManager, our company would like to use this mainly for SNMP management to start with, but we need to ensure it will accept our third party MIB file before we can purchase the professional version. Cisco Router not showing Null0 interface
Hello, I have 2 Cisco 3640's in HSRP. In Opmanager, on one of the Ciscos I can see Null0) as an interface, on the other, I cannot. I also receive the following alarm: AuthenticationFailure : .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.5.0: null on the router that OpManager does not see the Null0 interface. Any ideas? Adrian.

server cpu / memory / disk utilization never change
Hello, We installed OpManager V6 and we're monitoring a switch and 1/2 dozen Linux boxes (all CentOS V4). On the dashboard for each server we see the graphics for CPU Utilizaiton, Memory Utilization and Disk Utilization. For the CPU and Memory the value for each server have been absolutely constant for 3 days now. We know (at least) that the CPU utilization will change during the day (when cron's run etc). Can we get some info on how to debug this? Thanks, Frank

Hi, I need a tutorial on how to set up event monitoring on a remote computer running Windows XP. Unable to delete objects?
I just ugpraded to the latest hotfix. I am unable to now delete any objects. Change OpManager Layout?
Is there a way to change the actual layout of the snapshot page for each device or for a specific type of device? Also, can you replace the graphs for cpu/memory/disc utilization with custom graphs from our own mib?
strange port on our managed Switch
hi, OpManager is running and successfully managed all the device that we wish to monitor in our network, but the strange thing is that with our 3com switch. our 3com switch only has 24 ports on it but we're wondering why in OpManager, it shows 30 and more switch. is there any explanation why this things happened and how to configure the OpManager in order to monitor the right port of this switch. Problem in running Op Manager in Windows
It's my first time downloading Op manager, but after installing it I can't run it, even I have no idea how to start it. When I run Op manager web client it shows web page which says: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Availability
I have 2 servers that are showing as down in Today's availability. It has been showing this for the past few days. These servers are not down. The Memory, CPU, and Disk Utilization gauges seem to be functioning correctly, but the availability does not. What do I need to do to corrct this.
Problem with Email notifications
I have 2 problems with email notifications. 1. They were working but they have stopped. 2. Can these notifications be sent to multiple addresses, if so how?
Polling retry, reports
1. Is there is global option to change the number of polling retries before sending out the error in the OpManager. I know that this is there in Applications Manager. 2. Can I configure/customize to add more items in the reports ie., currently it lets me add only devices for reports... can I add service monitors too? Thanks.
DCOM errors and server status down?
Hi, When the OpManager server is trying to contact clients that aren't available, I get a DCOM error from the OpManager server and this flags the server to be "problem". Is there any way around this? I think the DCOM is for WMI access. Thanks, Simon
No firewall bandwidth graphs since upgrade to 6.0
Hi, Since upgrading to 6.0, I don't get any bandwidth graphs for my PIX firewalls any more. The bytecounts seem to be collected, I just get a blank page when I try to view the graphs. If I view the source, all that's there are some <map></map> tags containing <area> tags. There's nothing else. thanks, alec
DNS Check
We have two servers defined that run djbdns (tinydns). When we defined them OpManager does not "see" the DNS service. Is OpManager looking for DNS on the TCP port instead of the UDP port?

Showing link between switch port and device
When a end user device is powered down, OpManager generates an alert showing the port on a managed switch as down, but does not report the end device. Is there any way of show both? Is there a way of connecting the two togetter?

Hi, this Cisco Resource Monitor releases "Error!" when i click in the Admin tab\Monitors\Resource Monitors\Cisco Monitors. Also, in the Switches Snapshot this Monitor appears with a Threshold defined, and i never configured this. Thanks for your help. Miquel
