How to monitor traffic?

We've had OpManager running for a week or so and now we have some baseline traffic graphs on our servers and switches. Today I went to setup some traffic notifications and I'm totally confused.

- I would have liked to setup the monitors on the switch, but while you can view the traffic by port (at the bottom of the switch page) you can't seem to add an alarm/threshold.

- If I choose "Interface Tx Traffic" under the traffic monitors of the switch it seems to show all the interfaces. If I setup a threshold there what port is it actually on?

- I know I can set the thresholds per server under the traffic, but it would be easier to do just on the switches.

So what is the best way to set up traffic thresholds for each server and swtich? Basically what we want to know is if any server goes over "xx" mbps and if the switch(es) go over "yy" mbps.
