Event log rules
Hi, We are currently testing the event log functions, but apparently they are not working, i tested it by stopping the automatic update service in windows, and configured the corresponding event log rule in OpManager, event id, source etc. I have also included a notification rule which triggers an email action. I started and stopped the Automatic Update service a few times now, but no email alarm from OpManager. Any idea's?
Antivirus Monitoring
Hi, I'm having some problem finding a solution how to keep track of the pattern version of my servers using Opmanager. I'm using Symantec Antivirus Corp. edt. and have configured the AMS service to send SNMP traps to the probe. but all I can do with the Trap Prossesor is set an status for the event (Warning, failed, clear, etc.) The function I want's are like a tag/String that the snmp trap can update. So I can easily se the time of the last "Update pattern" Trap i received from the AMS service for

Can OpManager monitor virtual memory? If so, how would I go about setting this option up? THanks

Schedule reports problem
Hi, I'm testing OpManager 6 , i like it ! but when i schedule a report , it works but no mail notification is sent to the email address indicated. The mail server parameters are good, and i receive alerts from normals events. thank's :?
OpManager upgrade
Hi TherennI have just done an upgrade of our OpManager to latest version.nnAfter the upgrade it just stopped working and I have not been able to get it working at all.nnOur copy has been previously upgraded from Version 5 to 5.5 and then to 5.6 beforehand.nnIn the wrapper.log the Error "Failed to Establish connection to Web Server. No Standard Reports available at all.
Hello, I have Opmanager 6.0 with the latest hotfixes and the standard rerports are showing "No Data" I can run custom reports and all is fine, all my devices have blue stars on them. This is on a standalone OpManager machine after the problems I had running OpManager on a machine with another MySQL application. Any ideas? Thanks, Adrian.
Linux admin client / business views?
Hello, We'd like to setup business views for OpManager. From what I've read, we need the Admin Client to do that. The problem is we don't have all the rpm's loaded on our Linux box and we don't have don't have any x-client software. Is there any other way to configure the business views? Can we install a windows client/server and somehow connect to the Linux box? We have lots of PC's that we could do that on. Thanks, Frank
OpManager Server will not start in Fedora 3
Every time is try to start the server I get this error. "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." Then every thing starts to shutdown. I am running Fedora 3 and the latest version of opmanager. Corey
unmanaged devices turn back on?
no other administrator turns my devices back to 'manage' but yet every wed they seem to reenable? (rediscovery is turned off for these devices)
Removing OpManager 6.0
HI, I installed OpManager 6.0 on my windows 2003 enterprise machine and then uninstalled it. Now when I install 5.6, it installs successfully but at the end error come �Unable to start OpManager as a service� . In services Manage OpManager service is in automatic and started state. When I try to run OpManager client, it says �check if server is running�. I believe that version 6 is not uninstalled completely and it has still occupied the system, because when I again tried to install 6 it installed
AD Store on primary DC missing info and speedometer
As shown in the following screenshots my secondary DC has the requested info and speedometer shown while the promary DC does not have all the requested info. Both use the same admin account in domain\username format. Both have ntds.dit files on the "C" drive. I've done refreshes/rediscovers several times and the AD dashboard has been installed for 2 days now. Any idea why the N/A under used disk space and the lack of the speedometer? chris
Free Edition + Windows monitors
I installed the free edition (Linux) accidently selecting the trial period version. When the 30 days is up will this revert to the Free Edition, or do I have to re-install? Second, I remember a few versions ago the option to use Windows WMI, as well as to monitor Windows services (RPC, Print Spooler, SNMP, etc..) but I no longer see this option. I remember there was the ability for Opmanager to query the server and then I could select which services to monitor. Has this been removed or do I need
Disk Utilization
Hello, Disk Utilization isn't reporting the correct number. For example, the SNMP graph for one server is showing 100% full, but is really 80% (85% using df). Migration from WUG
I am trying to migrate from WUG and I have a number of SNMP Monitors. When I copy the OID frmo teh Services.inf file into the custom services and assign to a map the service does not get the desired result. I use the WSTC informant MIB Is there a easier way to migrate the OIDs and how can I set up a VEndor specific monitor using WSTC informant?
Customize Infrastructure Views and change device type
I'd like to find out if it's possible to customize the Infrastructure Views to remove certain links such as Firewalls, UPS, and add my own links? Also, for device type, I'd like to create different icons for different desktops such as MCE2005, Tablet2005, rather than grouping everything into Windows XP. I did create icons and added new device types, however, they fail when I try to enable WMI monitoring until I change the type back to Windows XP. Any help would be much appreciated.
Mass deleting monitors
Hello, The Quick Configuration Wizard allows me to add monitors to multiple servers (although only one at a time), however I can't find out how to delete monitors from multiple servers. I have a resource monitor that I want to delete from a few hundred servers. Any ideas?
starting problem in Opmanager installed in Redhat AS 4
Guys I already installed and used the opmanager on my FC4 but I want it on my AS 4 I try to start the StartOpmanagerServer.sh and got this error, try kevins suggestion about the libs.so something and change the port no of mysql but still got this error inside addon check Unable to start Mysql daemon Unable to create database Exiting OpManager so what will I do to solve this problem.. thank guys
Custom OID not working
If I specify a formula in a custom monitor, such as... (.1.3.6.1.4.1.1234.1.40.1.4)/6000 The monitor doesn't work. Note that this is on a table OID, which works without the formula.
Notification of specific traps
Dear Support, I'd want OpManager to execute a system command automatically whenever an alarm is raised in the network (that is send a notification) according to a specific trap received (maybe based on trap OID...). Is it possible? Thanks.
Dashboard Infrastructure Snapshot customization
Is it possible to customize the groups (server, printers, wireless, etc) on the Home page Dashboard? We have various different product grouping and would like to see all the servers associated with a single product grouped together. I would also like to customize the Event Log Rules groupings under the Admin page if possible. Thanks
Reproducing data in graphical paper reports
We have some customers which are requesting graphical reports of their network activity each week. I am interested in finding out where, in the opmanager database structure, the information for the following is stored so it can be reproduced in a report: 1. A few questions before prod install
Hello All, We're looking at installing OpManager to monitor our devices network usages. We run webservers and want to monitor (for example) when clients upload mp3's/movies etc and the network utilization skyrockets. We installed on a test server, but before we install on a production server I just wanted to check: - We should be able to do network utilization monitoring either at the router / switch or server level via SNMP? - It won't intefer if we install it on a server that is already acting
Change the 3 default graphs
CPU Utilization % Memory Utilization % Disk Utilization % How would I go about changing say 'Disk Utilization %' to 'System Processes Running'? or another value? Is this even possible? if not WHY not?

OPMANAGERE - MAPS
How do I change the sequence of items in the MAPS tab. I can see options to SORT based on device type, Display name. Is it possible for me to change the sequence of items that appear as tabs on the top (Web, Telnet etc..) in the Select View --> Details. Thanks.
Maximum temperature
OpManager gives temperatures values of our server above the 54 degrees C. Are these values normal or are they to high? It are HP DL360's en 380's in a cooled area.

Notofication Profiles exist but are not displayed
Hi - I've created a couple of notification profiles, but I noticed I'd accidentally capitalised the name of one, so I've deleted it and created a new one (so, with the same name but different capitalisation). Since then I can't see any of the existing notification profiles. If I try to create one with the same name as before it tells me that the profile already exists. Because it is not displayed, I can't assign it to anything! Assuming I've messed up the table in some way, but no idea how to check
sort business views?
Say I add a two business views called 12 & 14 -then I create 15, 16, 17, etc. Later I want to create a view called 13. Is there anyway to order these views so that 13 isn't way at the bottom?

Disk Utilization Graph
Is there any way to change the graphs that show in the snapshot page up top (where the cpu and memory tachometers are at)? I would like to see both disk utilization %'s, it only defaults to the c drive I think. I am using WMI for monitoring and both the disks are setup under the "resource monitors" area. I am using the full version on the 30 day trial. TIA

Monitoring Router WIC ports
I have a number of routers in my environment, and I can monitor the FastEthernet ports OK, but I don't have any of the WIC ports showing in my interfaces list. Do I need to set up something special in OM to be able to monitor my point-to-point bandwidth and traffic, or am I missing something else? Thanks! Don Johnson
