Opmanager consumes all available CPU resources
Has any one come across the Java process in Opmanager consuming all available CPU resources. This has brought my server to an absolute standstill making the product very cumbersome to use.
mib definition not updated
Hi, I have a mib file located at ~\OpManager\mibs directory, and previously it has 3 traps . Recently, I defined more traps, but it seems opManager is not able to refresh it. In trap processor, whenever I tried "load trap from MIB", it always shows the old traps. I have also tried start/stop opManager, but still doesn't work. Is there a way that I can let opManager to refresh its cache and reload the new MIB? Thanks! - Jiang -
the specification about the monitoring by telnet / ssh
Hi, I want to know the specification about the monitoring by telnet /ssh. When using telnet/ssh, is the connection with the monitored device established and cut every time OpM is polling ? Does the zombie process never remain at that time ? Regards, Jiro
OpManager installing on Cent OS-64-bit
I have install the Cent OS 64-bit. opmanager not acepting IP for discovery
just installed opmanager and it's asking for the networks to discover.... I put in our primary network, 192.168.1.1 with subnet 255.255.255.0 and it don't accept it... secondary network 192.168.2.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 - does not accept.... tertiary network 192.168.3.1 (managed switches, stops people trying to mess if they can't see them ;) ) subnet 255.255.255.0 doesn't accept their ether.... Any ideas?
Opmanager speed
Hi, I've been running opmanager for just over a week now and its pretty much fully populated and i'm now experiencing serious performance problems. The system its running on is a 512mb Xeon 3GHZ with a small 80GB mirrored array and whenever you do requests its running at 100% CPU for quite a long time and now certain reports are timing out and are no longer available. The port reports for switches ( top error lists etc) now sit processing at 100% for a bout 2-3 minutes before IE gives up. Listing
DMS automatic startup for debian
Hi, I have just recently install the ManageEngine_OpManager_MSP.bin for linux onto a Debian system. After playing around trying to get it started (apache kept breaking) I have it working and working fine. The only problem now is that I would like to start it from the rc2.d. In the forums we have a couple of examples of using the opmanager.txt file, but this dates to 2005 so is not relevant for dms. How do I get startdms.sh to fork to the background? Geordy

I'm trying to create Custom Monitors which are copies of existing Resource Monitors. In Correct Alarms raised for Thresholds
I have set some thresholds for Disk Usage at 90 (90%) but Op Manager is not working out the percentage correctly for any of our disk volumes using SNMP. Should we be using actual MB as the unit measure ? If so that would mean we would have to manually change all these if we ever increase the capacity of our disk volumes. please advise. regards - glen
Opmanager MSP - Router not shown in Central, just in Probe
Hi, I used opmanager MSP trial version, add router manually from central and assign to customer A. All cisco router, about 60 successfully added and appear in central and probe. I got one problem, one cisco router just appear in probe, not in central. I already deleted the router from probe and add manually from central, same problem. So i would like to know, is there any database problem or other problems? any sugestion? Fyi i installed central and probe on same server.
OpManager MSP
Hi, We have a requirement for OpManager MSP edition, we would like to offer it to our clients who have broadband connections that only support DynamicDNS. Our Broadband connection also only support DynamicDNS. Will OpManager MSP work in this environment, and how can we get it to work ? I am having issues starting up opmanager as a probe on Windows 2003 and Windows XP. Basically, It freezes during "Verifying connection with Web Server" Can somebody please help me with this?
problem with collecting data after turning server off
Hi! I am using OpManager 6.0 free edition for monitoring 2 Cisco routers and 4 3com switches. It was working fine until recently. Due to power installation maintenace in our building, we had to shut down all the servers, among them server with OpManager. After turning it on, OpManager started succsessfully, and I could access by web interface. But when I try to view traffic on any of the interfaces, router or switch, I have graphics only till the moment the server was turned off and the rest is blank.
Disabling Autodiscovery

Adding New Device Types
To whom would we send requests for adding new device types into the available dropdown list? I would be fine adding them myself if I knew the place and all the mib or whatever info that needs to go along with it. Reports No Data Available
Hi, on the Routers register we only have selected 4 fields to monitor in only one interface. These field monitors are : RX Traffic RX Utilization TX Traffic TX Utilization .... and the Report Router by RX, TX Traffic and Utilization says "No Data Available". Any idea ? Thanks Miquel
Scheduled downtime counts against availability?
The User Guide says that Scheduled Downtime prevents alerts from firing, but it does not say that unavailability during Scheduled Donwtime is ignored. We have a weekly maintenance window where we expect to have periods of downtime as we restart application services for backups, take monthly MS patches, etc. Can you add a check box to a Donwtime Schedule to say something like, "Ignore Any Periods of Unavailability While this Schedule is Running"? Hi, This might sound like a silly question but where is the java (non web) client for Opmanager 6? I was going to create a custom business view but it says you cant do that via the web client and need the java client. I cant see a link to launch that anywhere. thanks, Matt

Multiple Issues with Cisco Pix
I am currently testing this application amongst various equipment I support for multiple customers. There is the potential for me to monitor hundreds of devices. I am testing various commercial products and so far I really like OptManager. I have a short runway as to which software I end up choosing. When I add cisco pix firewall to OpManager, they are discovered properly and it appears the stats are polled correctly. When I try to view the interface statistics though I'm directed to a blank page.
Getting access denied when tying to enable all WMI monitors
I am testing the opManager 6, we are very interested in purchasing this product if it meets our needs. I am unable to get any WMI monitors to work. I have tried it on several servers and the only server that opManager seems to be able monitor is the IIS server which has opManager installed on it. I have set security in WMI control, made changes to DCOM as sugested, verified that DCOM, RPC, SNMP, WMI services are running. I am still only able to use SNMP. I thoguht it might be something with the account
StartOpManagerClient.sh asks to check hostname
Hello, on the Linux platform, trying to start the java client, via the StartOpManagerClient.sh script, a window pops up asking to check the hostname. I tried also to fill �localhost� into the advanced window but I can proceed further, I just can hit the cancel button and exit. The following is the trascript of the shell session. the data migration from 5.6 to 6.0
We are using OpManager 5.6 now. Is it possible to shift the data from OpManager5 to OpManager 6 installed freshly on other machine ?
Pop-up window sizes
Is there anyway to change the size of the window you get when you click Configure interfaces. It looks like all the pop-up windows you get to see details are hard set to a certain size. Some devices will have very long names for interfaces and it causes you to have to scroll over to click a check box. This is a big problem if you need to manage or unmanage interfaces on large routers. Right now I have to scroll over click the check box then scroll back to see the description of the next interface
Number of missed polls before notification is set
Right now we are only given 3 options on the number of polls missed before a notification is set 1, 3 or 5 polls, will you be changing that number or is there a way for me to change it. Many devices reboot before the 3 missed poll happens and if you monitor every minute then the 1 poll can cause false alerts at times.
Eventlog rules - filter out unwanted events
Hello, is there a possibility to filter iout unwanted error events, so they are not part of the notify profile? We have a server which generates several error event entries "by design" :-). Can you all provide some insight into what features you plan on putting into OpManager in the future and I know you do not like to put a date on it but can you let us know about when you plan on putting it in.. IE what quarter of 2006 ect? Can't remove resource monitors
Hello, I have problem with removing resource monitors from the list. Once when I add resource monitor I can't remove it from the list. I have to unmanage device then configure it from the beginning. Status Message when trying to view Domain Controller Systems
I am getting this message when I try to view any of the three Domain Controllers that we have in Opmanager 6. Status Message Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object : usltl2.system.usltl I can't get to them to remove them. Even when I try to readd them to the system it doesn't work.
