taking out traps for IDR
Hi, I have some traps being collected by op manager in the form Traffic .1.3.6.1.4.1.3955.1.1.0: @out TCP from 192.168.66.7:1453 to forums.adventnet.com(64.41.199.22):80 I would like to have these traps somehow morphed into the firewall program. I would also like to have more than 1000 traps / device / day. How can I do this?

Hi, I'm trying OpManager and I think it's a very good product. But there is a very important thing that's cause me a disappoint. Before buy the license I had made an assessment to security issue. I've found that all passwords are sent in clear between OpManager and my Windows servers. Why????? I was thinking that all credentials was sent in a secure mode......but.... How can I by-pass this problem? I'm very intersted to this product but I can't buy if I don't resolve this problem Thanks in advance

Using MSSQL With OpManager
I'm trying to get MSSQL working with opmanager with no success. I installed SQL on a 2k3 std box, opmanager on another, and couldn't connect as it said there were port/host issues. So I installed a fresh version of SQL on a different box, installed a fresh opmanager on the same box, now I get an "Error in connection. Verify the details" error box. If I type in a bogus account it'll say incorrect password. I tried the JDBC update and made the changes to the database_params and wrapper file as indicated
Adding hosts to OpManager
Hello, We are trying to add our desktops into OpManager, however we have been trying to scan a class c netblock(255.255.255.0) for several days and it has returned no hosts. We can add the hosts individualy but this is very time consuming. Does anyone know why the Network scan continuly spins?
New feature request - Network discovery of subnet subranges
Hi, Would it be possible allow discovery of 'subranges' within a subnet. For example we use B-class subnets for each site. Currently to discovery a whole subnet I need to enter 150.150.0.0 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. This takes a long time We restrict different type of devices to different ranges. 150.150.121.0 with a mask of 255.255.0.0 is for servers and 150.150.222.0 255.255.0.0 is printers and so on. "Set as home page" not working
I am creating some business view right now. In the Mapmaker, I rightclick on the map I created, and perform "Set as home page" According to the doc, it should make that page the Opmanager Home page. It does not work. Should I restart the Central for that to appear. I am using Opmanager MSP (6001). Regards.
Cannot resolve hostname. Using localhost by default
When I installed this on clients computer to demo, kept getting this error message at startup. Also the system always shows the next poll date in the past and does not appear to be polling.
User privileges
When I create a user it can either be full admin or read only Is there anything in between ? What if I want to give my user the authorization to anotate alarms etc, but I dont want them to "discover network" or other admin commands. Regards, J.

OpManage in AIX (Risc 6000)
Hello. I am trying to use OpManager to monitor a AIX server, OpManager recognize the box (shows me all server�s information) but it only monitor a Oracle service and Eth Interface. The Actives processes, disk, CPU and memory monitor arent�t being monitored. How can I configure it to monitor everything? I edited my snmpd.conf in the AIX and it seens to be ok. Thanks in advance. Wish List Item - Preschedule Alarm supression
I'd like a recurring Alarm Supression Schedule for some servers which are rebooted at same time, same day each week. It would also be useful to be able to proactively schedule an alarm supression for a server which will be worked on tommorrow, or on the weekend, etc.
Create interval alarmation
I have a server were I'm monitoring my partitions. I would like to get a notification when /boot exceeds 80% and an alarm when /boot exceeds 90% Is there some way to do this in a proper way? Is it possible to assign this to _all_ servers at the same time?
Feature Request
Can you please add multiple thresholds on resource monitors. Right now you cannot warn someone if a filesystem is getting low on space and then have it send out another critical warning if the same resource drop to low. For example.. Set the threshold to send out a trouble notice if the free space on the / filesystem gets below 1GB and also send out a critical notice when the / filesystem gets below 500MB free.
"Device Not Responding"
I am getting a number of devices that show not responding, I suspect since OpManager is doing a single ping to the device or not allowing for multiple retires before alarming. Is there a setting that can be modified to help reduce this problem?
Reset admin password
For the life of me I cannot remember what I changed the admin password to. I was doing a demo and I stinking changed it so they couldn't use the default admin / admin, but apparently I went against my normal passwords and put something that I just can't remember. How can I reset this. Thank you.
WebServer no run under Linux Ubuntu
Hi, Sorry for my very bad english. I installed latest opmanager under Linux Ubuntu (Dapper). The installation was sucesfully on webserver por 8060 (port 80 is in use from apache server). Problems with snmp collecting data
after i installed and configured my opmanager, i hade added one object to : (linux box) , then it found the linux box and collect some datas, and created ok . after this , any host added to system or the same first host added don�t have data collected any more . i made one test : clicked on object , then at resources monitors, then at cpu utilization and click at test monitor , see what it answer : The Monitor did not respond to the test request !!! all my objects are with the same problem... i dont
Fail to collect data with custom monitors
I'm currently trying to create a custom monitor for my APC enviroment module to get the temperature in my server-room and produce graphs from this. I've located the oid to use with the mib browser but when I create a custom monitor and I do a test-run I get a message saying that it couldn't collect the data and asks me to make sure that snmp is running on the module. I'm running OpManager 6 with Linux Fedora Core 5 and have net-snmp installed.

Device status
I need to monitor the status of some IP camera's. OpManager needs to check if the camera is up for every 15 minutes. If the camera is down, it should directly send me a mail. ssh Cpu Utilizastion
Hi Guys I am currently switching between opmanager 5.5 on linux to Opmanager 5.6 on windows How ever when performing the cpu utlization via ssh it is not working. Since yesterday high cpu load (50% java.exe)
Hi, we've opmanager since a few month. since yesterday the the server has a very high cpu load (constant 50% by java.exe). there is no discovery in progress, we didn't have added new devices. i turned off opmanager, execute repairdb.bat an restart the server - but this has no effect. before yesterday the cpu load was about 3-5% Opmanager: 6.002 Java: 1.4.2_08 Any idea? thanks, martin
Event Log rules
I find the configuration of event log rules rather confusing. Our previous monitoring software was designed so that user notification profiles specified the level of event that the user wanted to see (warning, critical, error, etc.), but other than that, all events for that level and above were alerted by default. Missing Events
Hi, We are testing OpManager in parallel with some other products and we have noticed OpManager occasionally misses Events. I have event monitoring set for 30 seconds, and monitoring of domain controllers set to 1 minute. For the time being, I am only testing for accounts being locked out or unlocked. I would say we miss 2-3 events out of 10. Any suggestions??? Thanks Matt
ServiceDesk Integrations Issues
Using the demo of Opmanager 6005 and ServiceDesk 5501 I setup Add-On/Product Settings in Opmanager. Whenever I click on ServiceDesk within Opmanager I get the assets details but when I attempt to go back to Opmanager, I get the following: "Your session had been timed out for security reasons. Please re-login." Another issue is that when I click on some devices I receive the message "Unable to fetch Hardware Details from ServiceDeskPlus. " -I have verified that the device does exist in ServiceDesk.
