What distribution of linux is the recommended one to use when installing OpManager 6?

OpManager 6 with MSSQL 2005 disconnects
Hi, I've setup OpManager 6 newest version 6016 on MsSQL 2005. I start OpManager with the startopmanagerserver.bat command and everything works just fine. After a short while though, I get the following error: "Connection to the Database is lost. Server is being Shut Down. Please Restart the server." Then I have to run the command again. OpManager is also installed as a service, but even if I set up Windows to restart the service on failures, it doesn't and OpManager stays offline. Any clues? Regards,
SSH not working in OpManager 6.0!!!

But when i start telnet-service on client and change "Connection Protocol" from SSH to Telnet in "Password Credentials" of the device, then connection tests passed and monitors working correctly!! SMS (NwoSMS) with MSP doesn�t work
Hi Support, i�m trying to generate alarms and send to my sms gateway, but nothing arrives on the sms gateway. I use MSP and i�ve configured : to email address: 123456789@ip_host_now_sms but not information is registered on smsout.log Althouth this nowsms gateway was working ok with Opmanager "standalone". i have installed opmanger 6 successfully but i am uinable to access it via web interface i am even unable to run as can find startWebSvr.sh file so please let me know how to run it . Regards

I NOTICE OPS MANGER CANT DO SNMP STATUS POLLING.. it will only do status polling of device by ICMP THAT IS USELESS WITH PING DISABLE NETWORK

Installing Probe (MSP OpManager)
Hi everybody! I'm installing the MSP Probe version in my client's server (I already installed the Central server in my Main Office, and I created the Probe file, etc), but when I go to the web page :(https://servername) I've got this error message (see below). I did the installing 2 times, but the same problem. OpManager 7 on ubuntu 6.06, fail to start
Hello, first: does opmanager runs on ubuntu 6.06? I installed and configured, but at start it says: Failed to establish connection with Web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager. I copied the lib from backup but is the same. The script StartWebServer.sh does NOT exists. Any help please? Thanks in advance
Problem with Cisco devices after IOS upgrade
Hello, we've a problem with our cisco switches since we've updated the ios (firmware): after rediscover of an updated device, opmanager didn't find the correct interface (fastethernet/gigabitethernet) I've deleted and readded the devices, but still the same problem. after readd, same problem with the interfaces and in some cases the alarm profiles still exists on the readded device ->how can a completely delete a device from opmanager?? i've tested the cisco switches with new opmanager installation
Monitor Server Connections or Sessions?
Is there a way to monitor the number of active sessions (or connections) to a Windows 2003 server? This is not an active directory domain controller either... it is a webserver. Thanks for any advice or help... Scott

Historic data gone/missing!
Hi all, We are running Opmanager for over a year now without a lot of trouble, but this morning when I wanted to open the statistics for a server I received: Status Message Unable to find the object: Hostname This was the case on all of our devices. So I figured, maybe the application just needed to be rebooted, so I restarted the services. After that when logging in I received some corrupt tables so I ran repairdb.bat. Now I was able to log in again and I was able to open a device page without the

Hello, I just successfully installed the OpManager 7 beta into a linux CentOS 4.4 box with 2 gigs of ram, and dual Intel CPU's. When I attempt to start the OpManager server (sh StartOpManagerServer.sh) though it fails with the following error logged into stderr.txt file. /opt/Adventnet/OpManager/apache/bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb-3.2.so: Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Any ideas? Interface Traffic Details
Good morning, Is there a way to show "Interface Traffic Details" in Kbps instead of Bps ? It would be easier to see immediately the bandwidth used on a circuit. ie. 128 Kbps on a 2048 Kbps would be better than 16384 Bps on a 2048 Kbps Thanks
Unknown Devices
Last night I installed the OpManager 7 Beta version and so far it looks pretty good. One issue that I'm having and can't figure out is when discovering devices, I have several that are classified as unknown. I've imported them but can't find them to change the device type. Can anyone tell me now to find the devices so I can assign a device type and configure them for monitoring?

I am having problem adding new Monitor to Applications Manager 7. I get the Status Failed. Unable to connect to Jboss server. Error Message: Server redirected too many times (20) SNMP status SNMP Agent is not running in the System. Kindly start the SNMP Agent for Monitoring. unable to get the security/inventory infomation on server.
Dear Support Team, We are using Adventnet opmanager. updated all Routers,Switches,Servers and Desktops to the probe systems(192.168.30.40) and we get the all information on main server(202.53.91.76).But from the main server we are unable to get the security/Inventory information. Grouping Servers
Hi, it appears that all of my servers show up in one view. However, I would like to group servers according to purpose. That way, I can set different thresholds per group. I don't need my sql servers having the same thresholds as my web servers and vice versa. Is there a way I can seperate servers into groups and apply different thresholds and tests to the group? Also, is there a way to get rid of items off of the infrastructure list? For example, I'm just monitoring servers. I don't need to see
Problem with Op7 and ServiceDesk6
Hey, I added to my testing-server the ServiceDeskPLUS to test it with the new version of OpManager. It is working without any errors, but CPU load of the java.exe of the SD installation is permanently at more the 90% and slows down the system extremly. The memory usage is normaly around 90 to 100 megabytes which seems to be quite ok. With OpManager6 and SD6 there weren't such problems, have the configuration in to be adjusted to run "fine" again? Version 7 and Cisco 2811
Thank you for releasing OpManager ver 7. It looks promising. The first problem I faced today was when trying to add Cisco 2811 routers. I scanned a subnet that has 4 Cisco 2811 routers and all 4 routers were detected in the scan results. I have imported the routers but only 3 of them appeared in the Routers Infrastructure Snapshot. I tried to add the router manually and got the message that device was successfully added but still does not appear in any of the infrastructure views. Any idea what could

OpManager v7 and Netscreen 208
Hi, I am having trouble importing a pair of Netscreen 208s in OpManager v7. I can detect them and it also says successfully imported but I can't see them on any view. I can also user MIB browser to query and get info from them. Just cant see or monitor them. I can detect and monitor them on OpManager v6. What could it be? Please help. Shareef
MSSQL Monitors
I have the premium version of OpManager and I am running build 6016. I added several MS SQL servers for monitoring and added the MSSQL WMI application monitor. While the monitor sees the databases on the server, I can not add any specific MSSQL monitors. When I click on add Monitor from a specific section I get get a page with very few options and can not see any monitors to add. I tried removing the server from OpManager and then readding it but that did not help. - Chris
License upgrade -not working
Hi, I had a permanet license for Exchange and Active Directory, and a temporal license for SQL. I have just received a permanent license for the three solutions: Exchange, Active Directory and SQL; howewer I have noticed that after I applied the new license in order to be able to see all the monitors, I have to rediscover and configurate all de servers again. I think this is not right. Is there another way to apply the license, and save all the configuration I have alredy done. Thanks

I must say that it has given us visibility into the network that we have not had before, so I am very happy with it.
