Device Availability Wrong
I have two devices that are reporting 0% availability although they ping from OpManager 7 and are collecting disk, cpu and memory stats ok. Just the availability is zero. It looks normal otherwise. Has anyone else seen this? thanks, Lerwick
Interface Not showing in Device Dashboard
Please see screen shots in the attached document. The interfaces appear in various screens but NOT in the device dashboard. This only happens for a few devices but we need it fixed. mark
Custom octets ?
Hi I'm a newbie about opmanager. I want to monitor a custom field like Interface octets. this field is defined by counter32 type and the value is increasing continuously. I defined a new monitor using expression. .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.255.1.3/$DELTA_TIME but its result only represent (CURRENT_VALUE / $DELTA_TIME). How can I get delta about OID values?
URL Monitors don't show up
The Url monitors don't show up under the URL view. It says "No URL Monitors found in the database". However when I go to Admin and Url Monitors they are there and we continue to get emails when it hits its threshold. How can I get the Url monitors to show up in the infrastructure view?
Change device from domain contoller to server category
Hi, My v6 license does not include AD monitoring. My AD servers are discovered as domain controllers. I am not able to change the category of the domain controller to server. When I select any of the domain controller, there will be a status message showing 'Active Directory Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed'. This has prevented me from monitoring all servers detected as domain controller. In v6, I will be able to view the device property page and change the category to server so that I configure
Managing client sites with Opmanager
I'm new to Opmanager. The company I'm working for is looking for software that can monitor the client sites they are working for. Is it possible to install Opmanager at our office and discover the client networks. I can discover the client routers but need to be able to get behind the routers to discover the devices on the client's (private) network. If this is possible where do I find instructions on how to implement? Thanks Paul
Adding monitors
Hi all, I'm trying to add some monitors to the OpManager 7, and not finding the right way doing it. The case is that I want to monitor MySQL cluster which runs on Linux Server, so I though to create a new Template "MySQL Cluster" which has the Linux System OID + my custom monitors. this could not be achieved as the OpManager reject the System OID since it's already associated to Linux. So please help me simply to add more monitors to any server NOT through the template since it will then add my custom
Issue with scheduled report
Hi, I'm trying to use in the scheduled report the publication through an URL. I set in my web site an area to receive reports but when I try to put the url and click on next button I got a message asking me for an valid email adress. Maybe I'm wrong how to configure the url in OPManager (OPManager 7 build 7021), so can you tell me what exactly is the syntax I need to put in the field. Monitoring Overheads
I was just wondering what is the overheads of using opManager to monitor switches and servers? Someone told me that to monitor the amount of traffic over a port on a switch it almost doubles the amount of traffic required. is that true? or does it just get a reading of the amount of traffic that is crossing the port at that time? Also what strain would be placed on the systems if i was to increase the monitoring from 15 minutes to say 5, would this give me a more accurate reading of the amount of

Importing devices into OpManager
Hi there, Does anyone know of a way to import devices and their details into opmanager without having to do a discovery or manual adding? It would be nice to be able to import from csv or something so that devices can be automatically categorised and configured without having to do lots of post configuration once devices are discovered or added. Any ideas? Is there one particular SQL table that can be modified or are there several joins that need to be populated? Cheers! Ben
Problems adding devices/Devices partially added or removed
Hi there, Im having issues with devices that are partially added or removed and I cant seem to fix the issue. I have run the sql queries to remove any old entries but it still doesnt work. I've also tried running the delete wizard but the device is not found. Any ideas? Have there been any updates to the delete scripts lately that i am missing? Thanks heaps, Ben

Can't delete part of the infrastructure snaphots
After the upgrade from 6 to 7 it's not possible to delete the options Routers Servers Switches Desktops When i install OP7 as a new installation, i can do it. Please advice
install on Debian Etch
so, followed the install steps - same as guide here: www.debianadmin.com/monitoring-serversnetwork-devices-with-opmanager.html to install on Debian Etch. Install went off fine, but running StartOpmanagerServer .sh I got an issue with setEnv .sh not being found. I changed the path in StartOpmanagerServer .sh to point to setEnv .sh directly, and now the server start ... sort of. It takes about 15 minutes of just sitting there to kick off MySQL, then "inside addon check" appears, then nothing..... any
Monitoring NIC Teams?
What I am trying to do is monitor the NICs within an NIC team on an HP server. Pretty much all I want in to be notified if one of the NICs fails or loses connection. Ufortunately I see now way that this can be done, or am I just blind? Thanks

Linux Load and CPU useage
I am evaluating V7 of opmanager I have two main issues. 1-I am trying to setup load average monitoring for a linux server, it is not present the OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.3.1 i have browsed in your OID browser for 15 minutes and can not find it and i Can not enter the string directly ( which would be great) 2-I would like to change the defauld CPU utilisation to 100- .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.11.0 since this would give a better view of total CPU used since your default shows only user space CPU used.
Custom Graphs problem
Hi there, I am trying to modify the default graphs for the various device types, particularly UPS'es. We use Powerware and Vectek UPS and i have tried adding the required fields as per the howto's in the forums (modifying the opmanager_snapshot_dial.xml and ups_monitors.xml files) but nothing seems to change. I even tried adding my own "test" graph symbol with dummy values but even that wouldnt change the appearance of the device snapshot pages. Am i doing something wrong? I am running the latest

Issue with Quick Configuration Wizard and DCs
Hi, I'm working with OPManager 7 build 7021. When I'm using Quick Configuration wizard to associate a profile notification including DCs. All servers got the notification profile except DCs. Scheduled Reports PDF Filename
We have an issue with the Scheduled Device Ability Report. The file name the report uses is the ip address of the device. We need this report file name to be the name of the device so that the customer can understand which device it is for... How do I fix this? Thanks!

How to read error rate alarms?
Whenever an alarm for this type of error is generated the error message is sent: Errors rate for Interface t1 0/1: DS1 Driver (Falc56) is 100%, threshold value for this monitor is 2% I have attached a snapshot of the graph also. Problems with scheduled reports
Hello, I still got a problem with scheduled reports... I scheduled OPmanager to sent me the this report once a week, on monday: "Volumes with Least Free Space Identify disk partitions with least free space" and every monday, i receive this : "Volumes with Most Free Space Identify disk partitions with most free space" but with the wrong title... Can anyone please help ? I want to say that when i execute the report directly from opmanager (without scheduling), everything is alright. regards

Monitoring Mounted Windows Volumes (Used for Exchange IS)
Hello, I did a few searches before posting the following Disk monitoring question. I am trialing OpsManager to monitor our Exchange 2003 environment. We have most of it configured, but I'm having trouble setting up monitoring for our Mounted volumes. To explain: We are monitoring 2 Exchange 2003 Instances within one 3node Win2003 cluster. Each instance has a Drive letter on a volume, and 3 Mounted volumes off the root. For example we have J:\SG1, J:\SG2 and J:\SG3. All the SG's are Fiber Channel
Problem adding monitor f�r disk space
Hi there, I have a server with five volumes for which I monitor the free disk space. Now a sixth volume has been added but I can't find a way how to add a monitor for it. When go to "Add Monitor" there is no chance to select the volumes. Regards, Volker

This has happened multiple times with different devices. I have shutdiwn Opmanager and ran RepairDB.sh with no results. Is there a way to manually remove objects from the db, or something else that can be done to fux this major problem?

Support For Remote Management Tools
Hi Is there anything in the pipeline for adding support for remote tools? From a device I would like to be able to have a menu to "Remote Manage" using Web, Telnet, VNC, RDP etc... Many monitoring/management tools allow for this now and would be a great benefit to us. Regards Mike
