Business Views with shortcuts to other views show critical
Hi All -- We have a problem with Business views we've created that contain shortcuts to other business views and the shortcuts to those views show as device critical when no devices associated to that view show critical. More specifically: -We have a campus view showing multiple buildings and each building we have equipment in has a shortcut (with icon). Click on the shortcut icon you get a floorplan business view with the polled equipment shown where it is located and a shortcut back to the campus
Can't discover Interface
Hi All, I am evaluating OP 7, i tried add my DSLAM D-Link DAS-3248, i set community read only in the DSLAM and add traphost and snmp host to OP 7. I can add the DSLAM but i can't discover the interface, when i tried to rediscover, there is an error. How can i discover the interface? concerns on upgrading to 7 from 6
My company is currently running OPmanager6. Before we upgrade to 7, we are looking at the layout of 7. OPmanager7 gives us less views to our business view. We have over 40+ that we need to see at the same time. Is there no way to customize the view on the overview page?

OPmanager crashed and need to recover FAST
Hello Everyone, Opmanager server was not showing certain features (like server disksapce monitor, which was previously visible). So we restarted the opmanager server and now all the Maps, Nodes, almost everything is gone and it looks like a fresh installaion. Monitor Dell Server Hardware

Interface issue
Hi there: Thanks for looking to this post... I had been using OpManager V6 for quite a while and it has work sweet. I have upgrade to v7 and notice that under the switches and routers interfaces are huge amount of interfaces (on a router more than 400+) reported. For example, I have a Cisco 3560-48 which has 48 copper ports + 4 gbits ports and I will expect to see 52 physical ports plus virtual ports like VLAN's, Null, etc. Instead, I have 1595 interfaces, some in error but what I see are the same

Problems on Interface Monitoring
Here are few of the problems I have found with the OpManager software so far. 1. You continually get 100 % false utilization errors on the serial interfaces. Here is an example. Feb 27,2008 02:36:05 PM Traffic Utilization for Interface Wan Link from State Building to Pilot Road is 100%, threshold value for this monitor is 98% The actual utilization value never got above 92.8 %. 2. After rediscovery of device interfaces, the RX, TX Traffic and Errors will have a value of NA. The documentation says
Downtime Schedules mixes day and month -> wrong date
Hello, when I create an entry in Downtime Schedules it shows for next schedule "Thu, Dec 4, 2008" instead of "Thu, Apr 12, 2008". So it seems it has trouble with day/month and month/day. PS: I am using Build 7025 Regards Alex

Add one filesystem for Partition Details of the Device (%)
When i try to add one additional filesystem i have to remove all monitors to add one. Is there a better way? The same is when my Linux server needs a reboot OP7 gives a lot of partition errors, in Linux everthing is fine, but when i remove and add these monitors again everything is fine. Thanks in advance. I can't find any reports that give me Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) in OpManager 7. Is this feature missing? If not, where can I find this information?
Cisco Catalyst 6500 interface description
Hello, I test the evaluation OPManager software and i can't read have a correct interface description on Cisco catalyst 6500 (with CatOS). The software said : long haul fiber gigabit ethernet and the SNMP index but i cant found the interface number with this snmp index. Then i can't use the soft for Cat 6500 now. Problem creating custom Linux monitors
I would like to add a custom monitor that gathers the number of current TCP connections using the command "netstat -a | grep TCP". the result is a simple integer. How can I add this to the existing Linux CLI monitors?
Problem with linux disk space calculation
Hello all, This my first post to this forum. Its just 1-2 weeks i am using OpManager for monitoring about 100 servers. Especilly i am using this tool to monitor the disk spaces of servers. The disk space shown by OpManager for windows servers is fine, but the problem is with the linux servers I found the disk space calculation for windows and linux servers is done using same SNMP OID. This shows exact free disk space for the windows servers but for the linux servers there is 5% added to the free

Cache Hit Ration Values
We have a server running MSSQL 2000 with the SQL Monitor added to it's profile. The values in the dashboard monitors are showing different values from the MSSQL monitor below. The Dashboard SQL Specific Monitor shows 88% while the one below it shows 74%. Thanks, Joe
Correct Utilization
When I upgraded my server memory from 2GB to 5GB then check Asset Details on Snapshot View it still reporting 2GB. Memory utilization is still 100%. Then I edited the Asset Details manually and change 2GB to 5GB. Then memory utilization drops to 85%. My question is does OPManager depends on Asset Details in generating memory utilization. Cannot Create Custom Monitors
Hi All, When I enter Admin -> Custom Monitors section, it displays a list of custom monitors I created via OpManager 6. Am I to understand this has now been made redundant and Custom Monitors are now created via Device Templates? If this is the case, I cannot do what I need to do from what I can see. OpManager 7 forces us to select a specific OID from the MIB selected. My problem is, using the UCD-SNMP-MIB I need to select the extResult.1, extResult.2, and extResult.3 values for example. Switch Port Mapper - Somewhat works
When I use this feature, it pulls some of the IP's connected to it and sometimes it doesn't. If I choose different servers it seems it it will get IP's not listed on the first one and doesn't get ip's that the other server listed. My question is, is why does switch port mapper not near 100% consistent. I heard it uses the ARP cache, but what is that and how do I update the cache?

command sudo
Hi, I'm connected with a solaris device by ssh (without command login and passwd prompt). I would like to create a custom monitor with the command: sudo iptables -L -n | wc -l Can someone tell me how i can do? I tried to create the custom monitor. As the command sudo needs a password, I put the correct password in the field prompt password in the link password of my device. But the monitor returns the value 0. I think the problem is the password needed by sudo and not the custom monitor. If necessary

Getting error message "Device already present in the system" but I searched for the IP in Opmanager and it does not exist. I am running Opmanager 7 with build 7027.
Event Log Rule - Alarms
OpManager 7 build.7023 We created an Event Log Rule monitor on a server. An alarm was triggered and I was sent an email but nothing appears in the Alarms view. And since there is no way to clear the alarm I get an email alert ever 15 minutes. This is what I see; Currently there are no open alarms for the Device How do I clear the Alarm?

alerts when data not collected
Hi Is there a repotr available, or better still can you point me to the correct MSSQL table to find when a device hasn't polled e.g. C:\ snmp partition details not collected for last 3 tries. We do have occasions when snmp stops retrieving data and this would be a good way to spot them without having to go into each device? Many thanks

WMI Problem
I've been struggling with this for a few days and just can't seem to get it to work. I had a few set up for this but we lost a drive and I lost all of my scripts and I have to recreate them. Basically just a script to see if a process is up. SMS using usb attached mobile phone?
Has anyone had any luck using a mobile phone connected via a USB cable to be recognized by Opmanager? I have tried all the troubleshooting tips in the KB but nothing seems to get it work. I know that the phone I am using is not on the supported phones list but I figured I'd give it a go anyways. Opmanager just refuses to recognize it. Changing baud rates and com port settings don't help either. Just wondering. Thanks! -SAm

Proper setting for traffic counter
When adding devices to OpManager, some are added with the traffic counter set at 32 bit and others are at 64 bit. What is the proper way of setting this option? Does it really matter? This happens on devices from the same vendor, same model number, with the same version of firmware.
Cache Hit Ratio(SQL 2005 Server) Monitor
On our SQL2005 servers we cannot see the Cache Hit Ratio(SQL 2005 Server) monitor under Cache Monitors, it's just not being shown. We cant change the threshold value or disable the monitor. It keeps generating alarms.
Can't Open Custom Monitors!
I added a few custom monitors, then later decided to drop a couple. So I deleted one, and when I deleted it a page that says "Error!" appeared. Now whenever I try to go into the Custom Monitor page it gives me the Error page and I can't add any monitors. Also, in the error logs I get a Java NULL pointer exception. Any help would be great, thanks.
