Total bytes Transfered in accurate opmaanger 8
HI I have noticed that the Total bytes Transferred is inaccurate. It is only showing about 1 % of what is actually going through the interface. Please see attached. Is their a setting that needs to be changed? Thanks
locale problems in OpManager 7

Switch Port Mapper Works in Oputils 5, but not in OpManager
When we purchased OpManager, it was with the understanding that it comes with switch port mapping capabilities. Having contacted support previously, we were told that although OpManager does not support mapping of 3Com switches now, it will in the future. We have now moved to OpManager 8 and are still unable to map switch ports. We've also tried the switch port mapping in OpUtils 5 which maps the ports without issue (please refer to the screenshots included). When can we expect this feature to function?

Oracle monitor
Hi, Is there an Oracle monitor in opmanager? IT says so on your homepage - do you refer to the windows service or what? I cannot find any other. Is there a monitor for oracle that is similar to the MSSQL-built in monitors? I�ve done some searching as well, but no luck - I just get dB config error ;-) I�m using opmanager 8005. regards Bj�rn
New in handling OPManager
Hi to All, Its my first time using OPManager and i badly need your help. So here it goes... Device templates were already configured for the different kind of servers (Windows, Unix, Linux), so all i need to do is go to Admin menu then click Add Device menu and input the ip address. Upon viewing the added device there are nothing to be monitored which should not be the case since there were already templates created. What should I do/check? Can you also send me other sites where I can learn more
TCP Service Monitor Default Timeout
What is the default timeout for TCP Service monitors before OpManager determines that a Service is down ? I'm not referring to the Threshold Alert Response time that can be set in the "Edit Monitor" dialog, but rather the time OpManager will wait for the tcp connection to setup before it marks the tcp service as down (assuming the user did not setup a Threshold Alert). thanks, Greg
IE 8 support
I'm having considerable issues getting OpManager to work with IE 8. I can't get past the logon screen, it just sits there spinning whereas with IE 7.. works no problem. I enter the userid and password, hit "Login".. and nothing happens.
IP address and device name
Hello Everyone, My problem is i dont how to detect the device names automatically, because some of my devices are discover as IP Address and some are by their Device names. I dont know how to detect them by names automatically. I have my snmp enabled and rediscover them, but still the same. Please help me with this problem.
Monitoring Field in Device Configuration
Hi all, recently i configure OpManager for monitoring some device on my network. One of this is a router. I desire that OpManager test the connection with the router every 5 minutes. This is simple, but ... i'm not able to fix the Monitor field in the device configuration at 5 minutes. I have another device (same like this) and in the other i'm able to fix the Monitor time at 5 minutes. I try delete the device and reconfigure another time, but is like when i reconfigure the same device parameters
Netflow Plug-in and MS-SQL
Have just upgraded to OpManager 8 (plus hotfix 8005) and first impressions are pretty good. I'm interested in getting the Netflow Plug-In but the FAQ says this is not currently supported with an MS-SQL database. Can you advise when MS-SQL support will be added? I'd much prefer this over a standalone installation of Netflow Analyser. Kind regards AdamB
APC InfraStruXure Manager!
Hi there, I just started using OpManager to monitor our datacenter and specifically to monitor the environmental values. We are using APC's InfraStruXure Manager (IM) and I want to configure OpManager as a trap receiver for the IM so that I can start a local program when receiving an alert. I don't have a clue yet how to configure OpManager as a trap receiver. I already discovered the IM, but don't know how to associate performance monitors with this specific device. SQL monitor logins/sec seems incorrect
We are using a windows 2003 server with MSSQL 2005. We enabled the MSSQL monitor's in opmanager. The number of logins/sec is very high. If we compare it with perfmon it seems a miscalculation is made in opmanager. We tested with a raw polling tool to get the data from the wmi Win32_PerfRawData_MSSQLSERVER_SQLServerGeneralStatistics and we got high numbers. So there must by a formula in perfmon that converts it to a normal value. Or is perfmon wrong? And if so what units is the Win32_PerfRawData_MSSQLSERVER_SQLServerGeneralStatistics

Availablility Monitor in snapshot view shows down
I recently upgraded to Ver 8. After the upgrade I have several devices (most are fine) that show the availablility monitor as down (all red in pie chart) even though the device is active and responding. All other values are reported normal. I have attempted to 'unmanage' and 'manage' the device again as well as 'Rediscover device' and 'update status'. None worked. I expect a value in the SQL DB has become stuck during the upgrade. Can someone tell me the value to reset in the DB to get the status

Screen resolution in opManager
Hello support team, I'm using a secondary monitor on my computer. The main screen is 1920 x 1200, the secondary is 1280 x 1024. When I open opManager on the second screen it looks like the screen width of the opManager pages is set to a width of 1920. This happens all the dashboard views, but not with the other pages... Device Dependency failing
Hi, I have two servers which are dependent from each other. For some reason, I cannot find the reason why, the dependency between these two servers fails. One device doesn't see the other and vice versa. There are no extra alarms or errors on these devices, well not in the way that the device is not available. How can I troubleshoot this issue and have the dependency raise an alarm when the dependent device REALLY is down/unavailable?

Running OpManager 7103 on a Windows 2003 Server STD SP2. Would like to generate a CSR to obtain a SSL Cert from an CA like GoDaddy. Found ssl_gen.bat but that seems to create a self-signed certificate. How can I create a CSR to submit to a CA? Thanks in advance.
Cisco Voice gateway
Hi, I am adding a lot of Cisco Voice Gateways to our OP-Manager v7 latest build. By default after adding the router as device all interfaces are managed in automatic. Being a voice router, there are hundreads of virtual interfaces added in automatic which should not be monitored. If i select all not wanted ones and press REMOVE i have a error that the SNMP agent is not available. I seen that removing not more than 35 it is working fine. Tried also with REDICOVERY but that is when you want to add
PIX monitoring, interface counters are empty
Hello Gents, I try to monitor PIX 525 via OpManager 8.0. All interfaces were added into system. But all graphs are empty on the interface details page (No data available). How to enable to collect informations: Errors and Discards Toal bytes Transfered Packets per sec Interface page can be opened: Pix (device details) -> Interfaces -> Choose interface (example outside) Snmp credentials is tested and ok. Godaddy Email Accounts
Is anyone else using an email account hosted by godaddy for their email server? I am having a hell of a time getting it working. The account settings are legit when I use them in Outlook for testing purposes but when I enter them in Opmanager it says it cannot connect to the server. Any help would be appreciated. Josh
How to associate a notification profile with a generic event
Here is my situation: We have a Juniper M7i router that we are monitoring the power supply value. If the power supply is operating OK, it is a "3". If it is failed, it is a "6". However, if the power supply has been removed from the device, the OID does not return any value when queried. Is there a way in OM to send an alert if a OID is not responding at all? That is, how to associate such an event with a notification profile?

BUG: & sign in Interface description
I have a router Interface that I named "AT&T Transit". Everything seems to work fine until I try and add a Widget to a Dashboard with a "Traffic for N hours" graph. When I click on the pencil and select the device, the drop-down says "--Interfaces not available". If I then rename "AT&T Transit" to "ATT Transit" and do the exact same operation, the interfaces are populated in the drop-down box correctly.
Notification List
I was asked to get a list of who and how users get notified on which devices Unfortunately, there is no quick report for this. I had to do this manually. Is there anyone else out there that would like this feature. I think it would be beneficial is you have many users/devices, and if you need to change a user's notifications to someone else it would make it a lot easier. .
SNMP-Traps are not receiving on OpManager for W2K3 server
Hello Experts, We are using OpManger 7 for Network monitoring. We are having the problem receiving SNMP traps such power failure, Network cable removed etc... in OpManager. OpManager is configured and devices are succefully added and we are able to get the performance monitor data. But SNMP traps generated on Dell PE servers are not seen on the OpManager. Business View Restrictions
When I set up a new user and restrict that user to a specific business view, the user can still view and access links that I believe they should not be able to see. Specifically, in the upper right corner of the page, they can view: - About link, which shows them our license details, etc - Register link, which allows them to upload a new license key (!) How can I remove these links for non-administrator users?
Netscreen Firewalls no traffic NA
HI after testing Opmanager 8 I have come across a problem where we cant get traffic stats from netscreen firewalls. Hello is it possible to see Data of Xanto UPS Devices in OpManager. We bought a SNMP Adapter for each Device, but I can't see the UPS Load or the UPS Status. We are using Xanto RT 3000 with batterie packs and Xanto RT 1000 devices. Thanks for your help.

MIB Browser - Ability to select existing device / credential
It would be VERY handy if in the MIB Browser in OM8 you could select an existing device and/or SNMP credential. Right now, both must be added in manually.
Automatic discovery not working?
Hi Team, automatic discovery doesn't seem to work. This was the case with opManager 7.xx - and it still is with opManager 8. question about notifications and time periods
Hello, I would like to have notifications turned off between 8pm and 6am, however i need to be notified at 6am if a alarm that occurred during this period has not cleared. Is this possible? I would think this would be standard behavior, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have ver 7200. Thanks
User Manager not editable
We have the most current version of OpManager 7 (7010) When you create a new user you have the ability to specify the PERMISSIONS and the ACCESS for that user as shown in the 1st attachment "new-user.jpg" Once you have created the user and you go to edit/modify their access/permissions you cannot as those sections have disappeared !! (see attachments modify-user.jpg) This is VERY inconvenient to say the least. I have to delete a user and recreate them every time I add a new business view in order
