Active Directory Monitor
Is it possible to do a mass update to the active directory monitor template? I would like to change some values to be higher, and it is a pain to do this server by server. Thanks Shaun

How come updates are no longer shown on the Website?
I noticed that on the website http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/oputils/service-packs.html updates are no longer shown. I know that build 5024 at the least is available but I can't find anything later than 5001. Was the updates relocated somewhere else? :?

Disable TFTP Server
Hello, i would like to disable the TFTP Server from Oputil, we have a different TFTP Server running on the same Server to do the IOS Updates, Is there a chance to disable the tftp from optutil to get the port free for the other tftp server
Add annother application requiring MySQL
I want to install another application on the same server running OpManager. It too, requires MySQL. Server is W2k3 SP2 The person that installed OpManager does not know what user ID or password he used to create the MySQL instance. Apparently we need this for the new application. Is it the same as the user ID & password for the admin account in OpManager? How do I connect to MySQL? Thanks
Server Resource Monitoring
Hi All, I am trying to setup some reporting for my Executive unit, on the health of our network. I have all servers configured to use either WMI or SNMP monitoring, for Server, Disk and Memory utilisation. The default reports use a green, yellow and red system for resource utilisation. We have no custom thresholds set, for CPU, Disk or Memory. The standard reports use yellow for > 60 and red > 80 for example for memory. My question is, what is the simplest way to change the metrics on these reporting

opManager categorizes cisco switch as desktop
Hi, I'm new to opManager world (only have known it for a week). Yesterday I tried to add our switch 3com 7700 but had no luck in grabbing its performance. I already had a bunch of MIB (that other guy in this forum had claimed it to be 3com7700 but I have no idea how to use them. Today I added another device - a cisco catalyst 2960 switch - but opManager categorized it as Desktop (Type: unknown). Is there a source that can lead me into how to use opManager? I'm trying to evaluate this product before
Blank alarm won't clear
One of our devices has an alarm, when I click it I see nothing so I can't clear it. I've restarted OpManager service a few times with no luck. Any help with this annoyance?

Switchport mapper with L3 switches
So our switches are L3 vlan routers. (Standard Cisco 6500's). I need to add them to the 'switch' category in order to use the switch-port mapper feature. Got that. But, they are the routers as well, which is needed to resolve the ARP/IP address mapping for the mapper application. ...I can't have them in both categories. Is there a way to make them be able to be listed as a router as well? Thank you.

Response time monitors
Hi all, I cannot figure out how to get a device to generate an sms/e-mail when its response time exceeds its threshold. I set the value on the device by editing the response time. When I try to add a notification profile for the device, I expand 'when any [selected...] Threshold rule is violated' However, when I click on selected it says that no thresholds have been defined. Switchport Mapper Deletes Monitored Devices
I tried to use SwitchPort Mapper. It didn't list any switches, even though I had many added. I'm guessing it only thinks devices in the "Switches" category are switches. How do you use SwitchPort mapper on switches that you define in a custom infrastructure? It should allow you to choose ANY device you add. Since it didnt list any devices, I just tried adding one (it was already added under a custom view), but it said the device did not exist. Then I went back to my view and lo'and'behold, the device

Memory utilisation shows 0% for monitoring AIX using CLI
Hi I am using OPmanager 7 for managing my AIX servers, but the graph for memory utilisation always shows 0 %. 1) I am using a non-root account for monitoring my AIX servers. I am able to get the output of the following commands /usr/bin/vmstat 1 3 /usr/bin/df -k | awk '{x += $2} { y += $3 } { z += $4 } END { print x,y,z }' But for svmon -G I get the following error: $svmon -G ksh: svmon: 0403-006 Execute permission denied. Integration with Service Desk Plus
Hi, I recently integrated out OpManager with Service Desk Plus and it is working fine. I created a notification rule which in turn created a ticket when a trap is received from machines in our server group. Let me take a Power Supply going down as a test case: It creates 2 separate alarms when the trap is triggered. * alertPowerSupplyFailure * alertRedundanyLost and 2 seperate alarms when the power supply is plugged back in: * alertPowerSupplyNormal * alertRedundancyNormal However in Service Desk
Modify Infrastructure View - Delete Unwanted Categories?
Hi, I have all custom infrastructure views, but you cannot see any of them without clicking 'more' on the main page. I want to delete all the ones listed at default (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, etc). I'm sure this is possible without a hotfix or patch. I looked around, but I couldn't find which html or XML file these were listed in, so I'm guessing they're pulled from the backend? Oh, and if I try to delete them (well, the ones you're given a choice to delete), it says " No Infra Structure View
Nasty bug: Unable to fetch Managed Object details for...
Just lost 50+ servers in side of OpManager, how do I recover from this. Built up a new category under "Infrastructure Snapshot" called it Sun. Moved all my Solaris computers into the new category. Changed the template for "Solaris" and did an apply to all. All of my Solaris systems moved back into the Servers category. Then to make things even worse, when I try to access any of these servers I get "Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object : testserver-foo" Any ideas?
CPU/Memory/Disk bug with Infrastructure Views
None of my devices are showing the memory, cpu, or disk utilization graphs/snapshots. However, if I move these devices out of my custom Infrastructure views and into the default "Switch" or "Router" views, all those utilization graphs work perfectly. Why is there ANY correlation between the name of your infrastructure view and whether or not a device displays the correct monitoring info? SNMP works fine, the monitor are pooling the info. It's just the graphs on the device page that show "N/A". ????
Two Questions in One
Hi, Two questions here. We have a number of Juniper (Netscreen) SSG-320M firewalls, these are currently unsupported in Opmanager. I have the mibs from Juniper but cannot load them as they are in *.mib format and I cannot see anyway to do this. Secondly we would like an email alert should someone do a config change on a Cisco switch or router I have tried to set this up but it does not work either, no email alert received. Interface Alarms
Hello, I'm running OpManager Build 7200 and we just recently added some Dell Switches to it. One thing I'd like to disable at the moment is the Alarm messages that pop up when a link is down. I've looked at a few posts in advance and disabled the SNMP trap processor "Link Down", both versions, I also looked at the Interface Templates --> Ethernet but did not see an option that corresponds to this. The exact message I'm getting is "(SwitchName) Port Link Aggregate is down". Any help would be appreciated.
Don't want alarms for every downed device or interface
I don't want non-critical devices to display an alarm when they are down or not responding or "Probable device failure" or anything like that. The only time a non-critical device should display an alarm is if the hard drive is full. So ideally I would like all the Desktops to only display an alarm if the hard drive is full. All of our desktops are non-critical devices. Servers can have default alarms. They are all critical. I don't want an alarm when a switch or router "interface" is down. Only when

How to monitor a DLink SRW2024 Switch backplane
Hi guys, i'm new and i excuse for my poor english, however i'm trying to monitor the backplane of my dlink switch. How to disable ALL alerts Temporarily?
Is there any way that all service/server alerts can be easily disabled temporarily without goin g into each and every device and removing an alert profile? This would be tedious and time consuming to have to remove them all one-at-a-time and then re-enabliing them all.
