In otherwords for our clustered servers it would be useful to only monitor services on ServerB, if ServerA is not available. For our clustered Exchange servers, it's only useful to monitor exchange services on the active clustered server. Pix Firewall infos
Hi, I have a pix 515 and when I detected it, it got detected as a cisco terminal router... I changed the type manually to cisco pix firewall... By Default it got into workstations map... I moved it routers map... 1- Why can't I see cpu usage ? 2- If I click on an interface, they are listed as UnManaged why ? 3- On each interfaces I click manage... I still cannot see any data neither graph... 4- Why can't I see the route table ? Basically, are cisco pix supported beside just being able to add them
Feature Request: Per device url(s)
It would be really cool to be able to define a per device url. For example pix, catalyst etc can use a http server for monitoring Hp Servers provide html pages for snmp agents etc So on the device page, It would be cool to have one or many customizable urls. Adding a non-snmp device
Hi, I tried to add a device manually and when I try to do it, it prompts me for ip/mask/snmp port/community How can I MANUALLY add a device which is not snmp enabled ? Using network discovery adds it no problem but I want to do it manually so I don't get a huge amount of craps in the interface :)

Hi, We are currently using IPSwitch WhatsUp Gold and there is a feature in there I would suggest. When whatsup Gold Probe a net device, it can make the difference between Port in Up and connected Port is Up but disconnected Port is Shutdown It would be cool if you could make the difference between "the port is working but nothing is pluggued in" and "the port is not working -> shutdown" It's fairly easy to do while querying the snmp agent, all you would need to do is have 3 png instead of 2... Devices will not move into a business view
Sometimes when I attempt to add devices to a Business View they will not appear on the Business View. After I attempt to add them to the view, they will no longer show up on the properties list in either the �all devices� or �devices in business view� list. Is there any way I can correct this?

Hi, I have trail the pro. versiona and try to get my FreeBSD server info. I have already install SNMP in the server and during discovery, the server show the "blue" stars in the right hand corner, that mean the SNMP agent is OK ? but i cannot get any resource? pls help !!

under linux no computer names
I tested opmanager with windows and all computer dns names where showed. Now i installed opmanager on debian linux and it do not show computers names, only shows ip addresses.

Is it possible to monitor certain devices for certain times only? For example, during the network discovery process user workstations are discovered. When the users go home for the night they (should) turn off their computer. Because it has been discovered and is being monitored, I get an indication that many of the systems are in trouble. processus supervision
Hello, Is there a way to know if a processus is running or not. I just want OpManager to send me an alert if a proccssus isn't running anymore. I saw that there is a vb script named process.vb that is aimed to managed snmp processus for exemple. But Even if i have a machine that is not running the service snmp processus, i don't receive alert. Is this script activated be default ?? Thanks a lot Etienne

hi OpManager Staff, i would like to know that the feature of new OpManager will include autorization of user or not??? - can set differences permission for each user to view or manage different monitored nodes? because now each user can view all of monitored node, that sometimes they don't have permission to see other nodes not assigned to them :oops:
Problem with thresholds
Hello, I have one little problem with alarm generation. I am managing the network throughput of one of my machine (TX). I set the threshold level to 5000, but I know that periodicaly, it can be 6000 or 6500 during 2 or 3 minutes. I check the level every minutes and i ask OpManager to generate an alarm only if threshold is violated 10 consecutive times. The notification profile of this machine send me an e-mail when an alarm is generated. In the reallity OpManager send me an e-mail as the threshold

Printer Problem
I am using OpManager5 (registered) in my office and have set-up the snmp service to monitor my printers. Ideally a notification would only be sent out in the event of a fault to my helpdesk department. How do I configure this? I have looked through the notification menus and it doesn't seem like you can get that granular with your notification profiles. Currently, it is sending every printing SNMP trap including "Printing is in progress" as a notification. Is there a way to suppress specific TRAPs,
Suppressing Specific SNMP traps
I am currently using OPmanager 5 (registered) and was setting up my printers to be monitored. I would prefer to only receive messages in the event of an error. However, the printers actually notify us each time that they print. Is there a way to suppress these messages and yet still monitor the printers in the event of a fault. Thanks Shawn.
Adding and removing interfaces
I am getting some irregular issues from OpManager after removing interfaces from a couple routers.. I pulled a couple 4 port serial cards from a Cisco 3662 and OpManager is now showing the FastEthernet 0/0 port as down. I verified that the interface is up and its working fine. Two of the serial ports are showing down as well but are up in the router itself. My question is, do I need to rescan the device for new interfaces, similar as to what is done when its first added? I could remove/re-add the

i want to buy the product but first i need to check the trial version .. all is working great but i have a problem with snmp on linux : ManageEngine is installed on a slackware 10 machine and i have 250 computers in vpn and lan to monitor ... windows stations are well monitored but linux stations have problems ... snmp provides me only CPU utilization, description and network interfaces and no record in memory and disk utilization ... i configured snmd.conf as in ManageEngine help documentation ..

Missing/Problematic Features
A few questions ... Although Windows Event Logging is adveritised, I cannot find it anywhere in the latest build of OpManager 5 (5009). I only want to manage select ports on my switches. I have went to "port aliases" and cleared the "manage" check boxes for ports I do not want to manage. However, they remain in graphic views and interface tables. Why? James
oputils seems very unreliable
this is a great program, and I love the functionality...but it seems to crash an awful, awful lot...i am getting a lot of messages from our operations folk complaining that it is down....then i have to stop and restart it... any hints on how to make this more reliable?

Hello, I've installed the trial version of OPMANAGER 1 week ago. Today, as I log myself into OPMANAGER as admin, I wasn't admin anymore. I can just see the menu Home, Maps, Alarms, Reports and Help. I can't see the menu admin anymore. Maybe it is normal for the trial version. Maybe you desactive the admin skills of the admin user account 1 week after the installation. OpManager5 Blows Up Under 2003 Server
Hey guys, im having a problem here. Recently my trusty old 2k server kicked the bucket so we loaded 2003 enterprise edition on the replacement. Third piece of software i installed on the box (right after MSSQL2000 and trusty ol solarwinds) was a standard install of OpManager5. Set it to port 82 (so there are no conflicts with IIS) and set it to run stand-alone (Not a Service) and when i goto start opmanager for the first time after the install, the loading bar makes it all the way and i get a popup

Hello, How can I force an immediate rediscovery ?. In fact, I have some new services on some machines that are not discovered for the moment. I don't want to add them manually, beacause there is a lot of machines that are inpacted. In the software I can only say that OPMANAGER has to do a rediscovery once a day. But I want to do that now. opmanager5 free edition licensing question
The web site states: Installing OpManager Free Edition allows you manage 10 critical devices in your network. The Free Edition never expires and you get almost all functionality of the Professional Edition (except technical support from AdventNet) However, I can only enable 5 monitors per device. If I try to enable more than 5, it says they were sucessfully added, but never show up on the snapshot page. If I go back in to the "services" page, they are unchecked. Interface Line Speeds
Is there is a way to change the interface speed for the serial interfaces on our Cisco 1700 series router? They are all by default listed at 1.46 Mbps but most of our serial interfaces actually connect through fram relay circuits at 56k or 128k. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Graph to compare routers
Is it possible to create a graph or report to compare the interfaces on two routers? I'm looking for a way to look at both ends of a link to see if they are consistent with each other.
