OpManager 5 problems...
Hello everyone, I'm evaluating software currently that will enable my company to monitor a number of servers at various locations that are connected to the Internet. OpManager 5 seems a good product but for some 'strange' reason although I can add a Windows Small Business Server 2003 Server in the servers menu there is no way I can get OpManager to 'see' that the server has a Web Server installed! Even if I manually go and add the services after I click 'OK' the service disappears which is very annoying...
How to send periodic reports ?
Hello, I'm a new user of OpManager. I'm wondering if there is any way to send by mail periodic reports of my network health. The Web Based Management is not accessible from the Internet, due to the security policy of the firm. But I want to get somes informations about the network when I'm out of the firm for a long time. So the better way would be to receive some reports by mail. Thanks a lot. Etienne.
Can't add ANY services
I just installed OpManager, and it doesn't detect several services running on my primary server including httpd, https, ftp etc.... I tried to add them manually.. and then tried creating new custom services on port 80 etc... and I add them, it says it addes them... but they never show up??? Any ideas???
New device type & Show graph
Sir, 1. When I add new device type. I get this error message "Already a Device Type is present for this OID". But I cannot found any device type with same OID. How to fix it? 2. I can add the graph in the device. But...How can the graph show on the "Snapshot" page when using web client. Like the Cisco device. The "Cpu Utilization", "Memory Utilization" and etc are show on the bottom part. Samuel.
Window Service Monitoring
I understand that window services will not be able to be monitored until the next release of Opmanager. Firstly, is my understanding correct, and has a date been set for this release?
Disc Space Monitoring
Hello, I have been trialling the free (10 device)version of Opmanager and I have a number of questions as follows. 1. Disk space usage only shows Total utilisation - is there a way of breaking this down by volume? 2. I can only get meaningful data from Windows 2000/2003 Servers. I don't get anything from NT servers other than Uptime. 3. can I get info from Netware 4 servers? all the above have SNMP enabled Thanks for any help Paul

Alarms Report
In Opmanager 5 build 5006, from the client, there is a Reports/Alarms Report option. I can't find any mention in the help file or in this forum. Of course, mine is blank but I do have alarms (reason I've been looking into it). What might I be doing wrong? I'm assuming it should be some kind of report of the alarms that have happened over the past "period". The report DOES seem to generate, but then comes up with "data not available". Tom

Monitoring servers on private networks
Is it possible to monitor servers that are NAT'ed behind a firewall, so that a client can push the information to the server at regular intervals? We need to monitor a lot of networks where most of the servers are hidden behind firewalls with private addresses on the LAN and only one public IP, and I am having a hard time finding the right tool for the job. After installation on Linux (ASP Linux 9 Ural) i execute StartOpManagerServer.sh script from <OpManager_Home>/bin directory. Script up all services an say: Verifying connection with web server ...License check successful verified OpManager modules started successfully Please connect your client to the web server on port: 8010 When i connect to OpManager server from my web browser and put username and password (admin, admin) i see message "Error!". CPU and Disk utilization
Hi, I have trialed and then subsequently purchased OpManager the trial was installed on my laptop (XP) and the full version has been installed on a win 2K server. I've done nothing differently when installing the product but the version on the server is not picking up CPU and disk utilization but the laptop is any Ideas?? Thanks Gareth

reduced views for mini operators/end customers
Is it possible to reduce the visibility of resources, network elements, views etc. in WebClient for special users? e.g. create a number of "mini operators" where each one can see only a reduced number of devices, interfaces, bussiness views, reports, specified during creation.

Re: OpManager5 running on Windows 2003 I've setup Business Views, both with backgrounds and without, that appear in the web client but return an "Error!" message and blank page.

Is it possible to edit the startpage from a user who logs in. Default the admin user sees everything. When i specify a new user i can specify which maps i want this user to see, but i can't edit the other views (top 10 mem/cpu utilization) etc...

starting a webbrowser with specific url
Hi all, i am using Opmanager for a couple of days now and i kind of like it. But there are two things i can not find out how to do it: 1. when a device or a port goes down i need a notification that opens a webbrowser with a specific url, this triggers a alert program that sends sms, fax or/and e-mail 2. i use cisco equipment, and in the configurations is use the descripe command to descipe the ports with a name, however this is not turning up in Opmanager, what am i doing wrong? SNMP Problems (?)
I'm having a bit of a problem with SNMP traps (and I'm a bit new to SNMP in general). My OpManager server IP is 10.101.10.200, I have a "local" router @ 10.101.1.1 and a remote WAN router @ 10.110.1 (and 51 others).. Everything is fine with the local router, and the remote shows up fine (with the * to indicate snmp). The problem I'm having is OpManager ONLY shows traps from the lcoal router, nothing from the remote. I've verified the traps ARE in fact making it to the machine. In the "Devices to

I can't add another network?
I can only enter 2 networks to the discovery section ... I have tried using the web-client which gives me a page that simply says "Error." I have also trieud using the GUI client which lets me enter the additional networks but does not save them when I click OK. Am I overlooking something simple or is this a limitation with the evaluation version? :?:

a added Graph cannot be deleted anymore from the WebClient
Hi There, When i try to delete an self added graph from a device......it says "deleted" but i stays in there.....and cannot be deleted. Is this a bug? or do i miss something? and next....can i set more than one treshold with a different alarm on one single graph? and...can i make some kind of a profile for the same type of "servers" with the same graphs and tresholds? Hi, Has anyone tried to setup OpManager on Mandrake 10 recently ? I have tried and everything is installed properly in my /usr/local/OpManager directory but when I try to run the server, it says : Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager. Can't start as a Windows Service
OpManager doesn't startup (only) as a Windows service. When I log-on as Administrator and start OpManager by double-clicking the OpManager icon on the desktop, OpManager successfully starts. And also, when I log-on as Administrator and run StartOpManagerServer.bat from the command prompt, OpManager successfully starts. Only when I try to start OpManager as Windows Service, it fails to start. The file"stderr.txt" says that OpManager cannot bind to 0.0.0.0:7780. But I'm sure that ports which OpManager

Recently I evaluated OpManager 5, server device with windows 2000 work perfectly, but for a device with windows 2003 the graph didn't work at all ( CPU. Memory, HDD Space ). Is there something wrong ?
Cisco 6500 CPU utilization not displayed in snapshot
I have not been able to display the CPU utilization of a 6500 switch using the snapshot feature. I have loaded the latest cisco MIBs and can mibwalk to the output but would like to associate the snapshot CPU view with this new OID. Is there a way to make a new association as opposed to making a new graph ? Is there any other way of displaying a 6500 running CatOS CPU utilization on snapshot ? Thanks in advance.
