Adding and removing interfaces

I am getting some irregular issues from OpManager after removing interfaces from a couple routers.. I pulled a couple 4 port serial cards from a Cisco 3662 and OpManager is now showing the FastEthernet 0/0 port as down. I verified that the interface is up and its working fine. Two of the serial ports are showing down as well but are up in the router itself.

My question is, do I need to rescan the device for new interfaces, similar as to what is done when its first added? I could remove/re-add the devices and I have a feeling it would fix the problem but I do not want to lose my traffic history in my reports.
