Auto-discovery?
I notice that Workstations are a category within the program, so I wished to experiment with whether it's worth adding workstation machines into the program. However, I cannot see any auto-discovery function, everything must be discovered manually, so perhaps that group is only for the very special workstations which merit a static IP for whatever reason? :)
Problems with reports and other part of Opmanager 7
Hi, I discovered today a problem with reports : If you create a new category (infrastructure snapshot) and that you would like to get report form this category, you have no option to select this category to build reports. For example we have 200 devices (servers), I created fewe new infrastructure categories but now I cannot get any reports and I don't want to have a global report to do some manually Is it possible to get from reports exactly same reports in same ways that business view but for infrastructure
URL Monitors
I am evaluating OPManager for URL Monitoring. I a RoadRunner connection and a PC that I am using to monitor our webhosting environment (so I am outside the firewall). As a result OM is understandably not discovering any devices. Question: Is OPManager a good product to use for only URL monitoring, or is it overkill? Seems like it has a lot of other things built in. I added the URLS under Admin - URL Monitoring -- but there does not seem to be any way to tie those to notification profiles. (unless
OP7 Reporting Options
With Opmgr-6 we were able to produce reports that offered a "Time Window" option of either 8am-8pm or 24hrs and I added a 6am-6pm window which allowed us to report on meaningful operational SLA metrics. With 7 that is not a convenient option as we have to setup the report and then select the old data 6 option. This had been a reasonable approach but since we migrated from MS-SQL to MySQL (last week) we are unable to get meaningful data using the 6 option. Any idea how we can get that data now? We

Bulk SNMP monitor - Need OID type setting
I am polling a current value (i.e. bigip current connections on a certain VIP). I also use MRTG (bought OPmanager this month) with the "guage" option so it graphs the value returned and did not turn it into a rate. It matched the BIPIP web client performance graphs perfectly. How do I force OPmanage v7 to do the same. If this is not available it should be!
Snapshot Graph problem/question
On maqny of my Servers, I am getting yellow "Dependent Unavailable=100" bars on the graph instead of "up=100". And I am not getting any data for the Response Time and Packet Loss graphs. The servers' SNMP settings are correct and other data is being generated. The servers do have a Dependency configured but it is showing Up.

Please, what is the opmanager equivalent of snmpget? I can use snmpget from the server on which OpManager is installed and get a response from a device. If I create a monitor and use the same information I do not get a response. Thanks in advance

Interface Graphs deosnt show
We have a problem with the Newtowrk Interface Graph with all devices. The Graph doesnt show and the following message is displayed : Sorry, no data available for Graph. Try other options On the other hand, graph work with CPU/Memory monitor.
Desktops view doesn't show IP Address
With Opmanager v7, desktops view only shows devices name. With Opmanager v6 we had the ip address too. Why isn't it possible with opmanager v7 ?

Apache Service won't start
Hi After a reboot after a scheduled power outage I can no longer start eh apache service and therefore OpManager won't start. The error I get on my w2k3 servers event log is: The Apache service named reported teh following error: Syntax error on line 57 of c:\program files\adventnet\me\opmanager\apache\conf\htpd.conf and "Serverroot must be a valid directory" This is a valid directory, however there aren't 57 lines in the conf file - more like 40. Please help?

Hi, I have been using your product for a few weeks and was monitoring some custom windows services without a problem. Whenever the services went down we were notified. Now however the system only monitors if the system is none responsive. It doesn't seem to monitor any windows services, it doesn't change status in op manager and no email alerts. For SQL Server 2005 adding MSSQL monitor, service and ie Cache hit ratio then try to Add DB no DB found (I ran wmiadap /f several time on server, remove all monitors restarted OPM with no luck even if opm didn't asked for it as it usually do) For SQL2000 adding MSSQL monitor, service and ie Cache hit ratio then choosing DB works ok Then dashboard display no data even after two
SD Plus Integration in OPManager

Unable To Connect To DB From Remote System (Crystal Reports)
Hello, We followed the instructions below to attempt to connect to the OpMgr DB from Crystal reports. If we are logged into the local OpMgr machine, we can access the DB. Unfortunately, we cannot access the DB from any remote server, such as the CR server. Is this a limitation with the "root" user. Can we add an additional user? Windows Service Monitor in down state
I recently upgraded from version 6 to version 7. It appears everything went fine but when I tested the system I see problems. I stopped a service on one of my servers. When I click on the device in OpManager the Windows Service shows as Down but the Device Status is Clear. I have played around with Notification profiles and Escalation settings but nothing is working. Can someone please let me know what to do so I don't have to restore my ghost image.
