dcconfig.exe Application Error
We keep receiving these errors after the DC Agent is installed on client computers. We are an all Windows XP environment with a mix of SP2 and SP3 and this happens on any of them. See attached picture for exact error message. Thank you!
Hotfix Releases
So...maybe I'm just being dense, but where exactly to you find out what is the current version that is available? Is this something that you should be able to find in Desktop Central 6 as a highlighted item in the Support > General Details screen that you NEED AN UPDATE!! or something to that effect? Seems like I have to "hear" about it on these forums that there is a hotfix release or wait for a monthly newsletter to actually find out about it. Would be really nice to get an e-mail or some type
Workstation Details Not Updating
Hi we face and issue whereby,we have updated our computers from ServicePack1 to ServicePack 2, but we found that the Desktop Central still shows the old servicePack 1 details. We have also run the audit san and resan for the particular computers but still never works. Can you please assist me on how to solve this issue.. Thank you.

Hotifx 60331 killed Export PDF function for me
I just applied the latest hotfix (build 60331) and the "Export PDF" function no longer seems to work. After I click it the cursor spins for a few seconds and then I just get returned to the Home Page. It was working previously. Could this be something wrong on my system or is this a problem with this build?

Hello - I received an error during the installation of this hotfix. I uploaded my logs. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. I'm afraid to start up DC even though it supposedly rolled back to the last hotfix. I didn't backup the entire DC Server folder -- just the data folder. Yeah, my bad. What do I need to do to correct this? Should I uninstall DC, reinstall it, and then copy my data-backup to the data folder? Thanks- jsbac

HI, i habeen trying to deploy some software, but so far have failed, when i run the links i have setup in the package manually, i get a popup message saying the following. How to deploy MS Office 2007 Proofing tools
Hi all, I'm experiencing problems with the unattended install of the office proofing tools. I tried almost everything MS gives (install separate language files through msi, use the config.xml file, etc...) but none of them work. My installation usually fails with an Unknown Error, Code 30054 showing in Desktop Central. Is there anyone here who managed to install these tools succesfully? MS Office 2007 - Proofing Tools
Hi all, I am trying to perform an unattended install of the Office 2007 proofing tools. So far this has proven to be rather tricky which is something i didn't expect because MS separated the proofing tools (only for 2007) into MSI packages. So far i have tried almost everything MS provides (separate msi installs, use of config.xml, ...) Is there anyone here who succeedded in deploying the proofing tools? I entered the proper email, the smtp server (smtp.gmail.com) and the user name and password, and told it port 465 (alt is 587), and it won't send emails, says the mail server might be down. Any ideas?

Schedule Vulnerability Update - Notify When Task Finishes
Originally I had the option to Notify When Task Finishes turned on to e-mail me daily when the Vulnerability DB was updated. I recently decided that I was fine with not adding an additional e-mail to my inbox everyday so I turned it off. However, I am continuing to get these e-mails daily. Hi, I'm the new admin for DC here and I'm having trouble copying a file to the desktops of all our systems. It keeps giving me an "access denied" error, although I'm sure the credentials are correct. Can this be caused by anything else? Thanks!
timings of execution for scheduled pakage installation
I delployed an installation package (*exe) at about 19:00 And I set "scheduler settings" as per the following: Instation/uninstallation option: During/After startup schedule time to perform the operation same day after 22:30:00 Second day, I checked the Excutions status, the execution time was 22:43. Does Desktop Central Remove Computers from Inventory after x days or is it possible to set it up to do that? We deploy 10-20 computers a week to replace pc's in the field, it would be nice to remove in AD and it would remove in DC as well.

Can I add clients to the Desktop Central scope through IP Addresses, without them being part of the domain? I have few clients which are not part of the domain but Desktop Central server can connect to them.

Removing unused software from Inventory list?
We're testing DC and so far only have it running on 5 PCs. However, I've already upgraded the software on them a few times and now I have versions of previous software hanging around the inventory with 0 Installations listed. I can see this list getting positively filled with old software after a year or so. Is there some way to remove or not show software that isn't actually installed on any of the managed systems? Also, is there some reason I can sort the Software Inventory by any column *except*
Urgent.. MEDC Agents
Hi, After the installation of build 60328, all the agents upgraded to version 6.3.25 Now, if I right clicked the agent and selected "Send request to helpdesk" it will take around 20-30 seconds to show the window and and another 20 seconds to send the message!! This will happen also for all the options in the list. if double clicked the agent icon, Agent will crash and show send error to microsoft and will not start again automaticlly!! what shall I do to fix this ASAP??!! full missing patches download for all affected systems
I want to apply all critical missing patches to all pcs that require it (I think what you call Affected Systems). If I select all the missing critical pathces and deploy them (by creating the congiruration) will it push every individual patch to its affected systems or to all systems ??? Am just worried that it will push all the missing patches to all the systems registered in my desktop central! regardless if the system requires the patch or not or if it is compatible or not! Thanks
Bug Report Proxy Settings
I Beleve i have found a minor bug it has to do with the inital proxy Setting When you Click on the patch management tab for the first time it comes up with a warning that your proxy is not set so you click on the link and it opends a popup windows to change the settigs i entered all the detales for our proxy (Whick Has No Passwors) and then i click ok and it says verifying...........then failed but if i go into the admin tab and enter the proxy settings there exactly the same it works ok and

ManageEngine Serive Will not start Error 1053

I have automated patch deployment active and over the past week it has been attempting to deploy an Office Service pack, however it keeps coming up as: office2003-KB907417-FullFile-ENU.exe Failed The handle is invalid. run scripts as Administrator
Hi, I have a script file that will upgrade my network's PCs with a new Antivirus version, I tried to run the script from MEDC and it showed as successfully applied But actually it is not. All PCs still have the old version, I noticed that when we run the script it should run as administrator. is there a way to do this from MEDC?? Regards,

Add Current System Time
Would really like to see the Current System Time added to any place that you have to put in an actual time. This is extremely important when you are wanting to push something immediately...since there isn't an immediate option you have to choose the next minute...and knowing what the current system time is would be helpful.
