IE 8 missing in XP
HI, I m facing an issue that in some of my system with XP having IE 6 but in the patch scanning its does not show any patch is missing. As i know it should get the upgraded with the patches. Please suggest. Regard's Pradeep Bedse
Not restarting after deployment
I have an automated deployment scheduled and configured to not reboot if a user is logged on. The attached screen shot shows the status of the deployment. The problem is that this user is not actually logged on. This was the last person who used the computer, but they already logged off yesterday! To complete the deployment I had to login to the computer and click the Desktop Central popup message to initiate the reboot. Why did DC not correctly detect that no user was actually logged in at this
Remote Shutdown Failed
Dear Forum, When using Remote Shutdown the status is Failed and the remark is No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept. What is the problem precisely ? Thank u very much Regards

Feature Request - advanced scheduling
Microsoft and Adobe release on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, so we prefer to run our DC configurations on the following Friday. However, there is no guarantee that this will always be the 2nd Friday. If the first day of the month is a Friday, then our desired deployment date would be on the 3rd Friday of that month. We would like the ability to schedule deployments for "the Friday following the 2nd Tuesday of the month." Thanks!
Initiate Remote Control from 3rd Party App
Is it possible to initiate Remote Control of a computer by calling the Desktop Central procedure from a 3rd party app? For example, we have another product to manage our Service Desk, and we would like to be able to insert a button or link into the Incident form that passes the computer name to Desktop Central and initiates the Remote control procedure. Desktop Central Remote Control not Launching Window while using ActiveX Option
I'm experiencing an issue after the last update with Remote Control where I can connect to a client using the ActiveX option however my screen never changes to view the remote clients screen. My screen never "turns blue" and then I can see the clients screen. If I use Java it works. Anyone else experiencing this? I have tried in both IE8 and Firefox. I have also set all the security options in both browsers to the appropriate settings. Thanks
Status will not move from "Yet to enroll"
Hi there, Trying to get my 1st mobile device enrolled into MDM. I can send the enrollment request via email, open the page on the device, login and successfully receive the certificates, but the enrollment page within DesktopCentral never goes beyond the "Yet to enroll" status. In the sales calls prior to purchasing Desktop Central, I was told that it would work with Microsoft's DFS-R (formerly DFS/FRS). We are big users and want to be able to leverage DFS with replication to push out packages to branch offices the same way we have for years. Forcing configuration retry on a computer
Is it possible to force a software installation retry when the configuration status is in progress? A setup a configuration to push a software package, a perticular system's status is currently "retry in progress" with a retry status "1 out of 2". is there a way for force to retry the installation with out having to create another configuration?
Custom Group Change - Patches were installed
Hello, I was hoping you could help me out with an issue just occurred today with Desktop Central. I moved 4 machines that were not in any groups into an existing Custom Group with no issues. About an hour later I received a call from the business owners of those servers stating that Windows Patches were pushed out and installed on them. From the Admin > Action Log Viewer I am unable to find any information as to when and what patches were pushed out to these 4 servers and what time. Can you provide
How to create a valid digital signature on the Desktop Central .msi agent install file?
When downloading the Desktop Central .msi agent installation file, windows prompts because it has an invalid digital signature. Is there a way to sign this file so it's valid and can be downloaded/installed without having to "convince" Windows or bypass windows security? I want to make it as easy as possible for a user to click a url and initiate a "silent" agent installation.
Scan, Download, Deploy.... well what about copy to Workstation but don't deploy?
My current patch setup is that I still manually kick off the Deployment stage on the weekends I choose. I have the Scan and Downloads running on an automated schedule. As I understand what this means is that the server scans workstations, determines the patches necessary, and then downloads them to itself, then during the deploy mode, patches are actually copied to the workstation and then deployed. Expired Certificate on ActiveX Control
Hi, I am trying to use the remote control feature of desktop central, and the ActiveX control responsible for this has an expired certificate which causes Internet Explorer to disable the control. I have searched around and found a KB article about why the remote control feature might not work, and I was able to get it working by changing some security settings in Internet Explorer but I don't think this is a good solution, and creates unnecessary risk. Does anyone know of a way to update the certificate
How to determine which software to deploy for 32 bit and 64 bit Windows OS ?
I need to deploy the Lync 2010 software to all workstations. How can I setup to deploy the 64 bit version to only 64 bit machines and the 32 bit version to only 32 bit machines ? We are currently running Desktop Central 80038. Is their a pre-script that I can run to know whether to install 64 bit or 32 bit ? What is the best way to handle that ? Thank you!

Corporate wipe
Trying to do a corporate wipe on an iOS device. The device scans, I can push apps out but when trying to do a wipe, it just doesn't happen, the console shows that it is executing the command, but never finishes. Any ideas?
Deploy of Adobe CS6 Premium
Hi, I am new to MEDC 8 and i would like to test a trial of the above package on 2 pcs first, later if all works out ok i will deploy it to 70 pcs. I used the AAMEE software that Abode suggest to create an MSI package, the only problem is that AAMEE will not create a single MSI. It has a MSI and other files & folders in the same directory but MEDC will not accept that file. How will i be able to deploy Adobe CS6 package using your software? regards

Hi, We need to deploy a batch script that changes some registry settings in HKCU (Current User). For this to work the script needs to run as the current user. I can see that you can specify a particular user to run the script, but can the script be run as the currently logged on user? Thanks Chris
ActiveX Control and IE 10
I have a Windows 8 machine with IE 10 on it. I have not been able to use the ActiveX viewer for remote control. I can get it to prompt me to allow the ActiveX control to run and I say Allow but the viewer never comes up. Trying to start MySQL server failed
Hi, I'm trying to get Desktop Central Service to start. After a couple of minutes I get a popup from the tray icon telling me "Desktop Central has stopped". In the "serverout0" log I can see the "Trying to start MySQL server failed". What steps will I need to do to fix this issue? Thanks

Scheduling automated deployments
We have a group of machines protected by Deep Freeze, which discards any changes to the hard drives upon a restart. These machines are "thawed" at night by I.T. for 6 hours each week for Desktop Central updates. We must complete any Desktop Central deployments within this 6 hour window. Assume there are multiple, layered updates awaiting which will require 3 scans, 3 deployments and 3 restarts, how do we schedule these 3 automated deployments such that we are guaranteed they all 3 complete within
Java patch issue - certificate revocation message
hi, I am pushing a java update to a computer and it pops up an installer message. when you click view it switches out and shows: Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. report question
I would like a report, by computer name, that shows processor info. I see processor info if i click on details in the inventory, i.e. Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz. I can't seem to find that same info in any of the reports. I also tried creating a custom report (not query) but can't find it there either. Can someone give a rookie some clues ?

Admin Account
Is there a way for me to do one of the following? 1. Rename the admin account to something besides the default? 2. Disable the admin account and add a Active Directory user as the primary admin (we only have purchased 1 user license) 3. Remove the credentials from auto-populating into the web interface when it is loaded. We have some security concerns since our web console will need to be Internet facing, and would prefer that we are not publishing the default admin user account to the world.
Ability to save configurations / packages into sub containers / folders in DC
We have over 150 approved applications. These are further divided into winXP, Win7, 32bit and 64bit classifications. It would be great if we could create subfolders / containers so we can group similair packages and configurations, rather then having to search the entire list of applications. Is this possible for future releases?
Remarks
Why do the remarks say "Patch already installed" if the current status is Retry (see attached screenshot)? If the current status is "retry" then the remarks should state the reason for the retry. But if the reason for the retry is "patch already installed" then a retry is meaningless.

How can you install agent via group policy and have the machines go into a specific remote office within DC?
ERROR when deploying configurations during startup!
I found following interesting line in the computer.log file on such a client machine: ***** [ERROR] ProcessPatch : Scheduled time not reached. The configuration will be applied on next upcoming cycles !!! ***** "Scheduled time not reached"??? What does this mean? I did NOT change the "Install Between" setting of these configurations. Winzip Update
We recently bought winzip 16.5 which has been rolled out to some desktop machines and licenced. After a recent patch update i've noticed the machines have been "upgraded" to Winzip version 17 but now the software is unlicensed and the old licence key will not work as it is for version 16.5 not 17. Could i suggest that this is removed from the list of patches?

Missing vs. Failed
I'm doing an automate patch push and I'm getting A LOT of machines that say for example "4 patches missing" yet after deployment it says "4 patches failed" I'm not sure what is going on. When i go to the windows directly on said machine, the KB*.log file isn't even present. I'm supposed to patch over 1000 machines tonight and I don't feel confident in DesktopCentral at this point..
