Remote control issue
I am not sure if this should be in the SDP or Desktop Central area. But I have the two linked, and I am unable to remote control a computer from within SDP. The option is present, remote connection works within Desktop Central, but it will not work from SDP. What can I do?
VNC Viewer
Is there a simple guide when installing VNC? Does the VNC work with a third party solution like Real VNC or Ultra VNC? I have been working with Real VNC recently and have this setup for connecting outwith the LAN. Is this something which is also possible with Service desk or would I be best looking elsewhere for a remote solution when dealing with remote clients? I have been looking at Teamviewer and LogmeIn but thought if Manage Engine provided an all in one solution then there would be no point
"Waiting for the presenter to join " error message
Hi, I am facing a problem in Desktop central that while taking remote an error message is coming that " Waiting for the presenter to join". This error is not coming always. Some times the remote connection becomes unresponsive and again if we try to connect, this eror comes. Can anyone help me to solve the issue. Regards Jobin

When attempting to remotely connect to a MAC I am seeing the following. On my Computer A message box immediately pops up on the mac More Info takes me to the java download page, OK simply closes the message window. A current version of Java is already installed and up to date on the mac as can be seen with the response from the Oracle java test page. What do I need to do to get the mac to allow the Desktop Central java viewer app to run when I try to connect to it remotely ? DesktopCentral
Remote Control - log the reason for remote connection
We have this option turned on but I can not find anywhere that we can see the reasons we have entered. It is not a column on the history tab in remote control. I do not see any reports for remote control. So where is it logging this and how can we see it? Thanks Mike
Lost remote control function after update
Hi, I updated to the latest build last night and have lost a bit of functionality. If you are looking at a list of computers or searching for one by name you normally can click the little icon with the computer on where you get your list of actions like "patch scan, "inventory scan" "chat" etc.. Well now when you click on the remote control button this does nothing. It just does nothing! If you click tools, remote control and then press connect this works as expected and launches the remote connect.
Agents not reachable, but agent status states it is up??
I am trying to figure out why some of my agents are stating the agent live status is up but when I try to connect it states agent not reachable.

I get this alert when viewing my remote-office. I have installed distribution server on my computer but I get this error.By the way once I tried to scan the managed computer which belongs to my remote-office server and it failed saying distribution server is not reachable.Could you help me on this case?

Remote Control not working with IE 11 (Works fine with Chrome)
Hi I am testing with the Remote Control tool in Desktop Central. When testing with IE11 I can find a PC and shutdown or start it up ok but when I try and remote control to it a message appears on the client PC asking if Administrator can control. I click allow and then nothing happens on the administration PC. If I try again I get a message saying that it Remote is waiting to establish a connection. For info the remote control works fine when using Chrome. Could this be related to Active X settings
Active X remote control not working after upgrade to 90087
I upgraded to 90087 over last weekend. Remote control with Active X was working before this update. Now it is not. You can connect to computers but the desktop never shows up. If you click on Show Desktop it does not show up either. All active x settings are the same as before. It does work with java. Thanks Mike

Hello! Since upgrade to 90067 we are required to enter a reason for connecting to remote computer. As it is annoying, and those reasons are not important for us, it would be awesome if we could turn it off, so far I was unable to locate that option in DC. Can you give us option to turn it off? Remote control and chat not working (ver. 90066)
New install and when I initiate chat server shows user is off line. The end user sees the chat box but it is not responding. Remote control using Active X IE 11, the end user gets a box title Edit Connection Setting and fields referring to proxy settings. The box stays visible for about 4 seconds and disappears. On the server side I see waiting for presenter. Actually it appears that all the "Tools" seem to initiate but none of them seem to finish as if the client/agent end is refusing or cannot
view desktop - Not Working
Hi, I am a new user to ManageEngine and have created my server and connected one device. I can see the device and audit SW and HW and display announcements. However, when I go to remove control, I can connect to the device but when I select View Desktop it flashes Loading and then goes back to view Desktop again without displaying any messages or screens. any ideas Vince

Remote Control Issues
Hi All, Please help as I'm starting to get really annoyed with the Remote Control facility in Desktop Central. On connecting to machines, sometimes my mouse or keyboard will not work, so even though I can see the remote screen I can't select or type anything to it. Even pressing the CTRL+ALT+DEL button will at times not work. I've tried using Chrome and IE, both the ActiveX or java plugin options, but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong and has anyone else experienced similar issues? thanks

We are using Remote Control in Desktop Central on 75 computers in 4 locations. It is working properly on all but 2 computers. For those two computers, when we try to connect using Active X, it connects shows the blue connection screen and they immediately shows "Exit Meeting" . When connecting using Java, it connects and shows the java screen and then shows "Java Viewer, Waiting for presenter to join." It is not a firewall issue on the server because 75 other computers work fine. It is not

Since updating to Desktop Central 9 we haven't been able to remote control anyones PC. I did some troubleshooting and have narrowed the problem down to java. I can remote control people using IE and using the ActiveX remote control but cannot connect using the Java one. I have tried the Java one in both IE and Chrome.

Hi, When remoting into computers that have multiple windows of a program open, we cannot see the preview boxes. This makes it difficult to minimize and close windows without user intervention. Attached is a screen shot of the previews I am speaking of:
Cannot see RDS Blue Bar when remoting into computer
Many of our users that we support use RDS to remote into a server for programs. When we remote into their computers for support, the blue bar at the top does not appear. This is needed to minimize or resize the RDS window. The DC Remote banner covers the area, so I shrink it but there is no blue bar under it. If this was visible, it would eliminate the need to call the user and tell them to minimize the RDS window. Attached is the blue bar I am referring to and what it looks like now when remoting.

Change display settings just for remote sessions
Is there a way to change the display settings in Desktop Central on the workstations I remotely manage, without affecting the users display settings. Some users have changed their display settings to allow for larger fonts. This causes an issue when I remote in, the bottom of the screen is cut off and I am unable to click on anything correctly. Hi All, i would like some information on the best way to setup DesktopCentral for use in different countries. currently we have one central DesktopCentral server with multiple distribution servers. the main DC server is in the UK so when the guys in the USA are starting a remote connection to a clients machine the connection is started from the UK DC server so the remote connection is very slow. can i setup a USA server for DesktopCentral or is there a way for the remote connections to connect
Start a chat session directly from a remote control window
Would it be possible to add the ability to start a chat session with the machine you are remote controlling directly from the remote control window? Right now, I have to start a remote session and then go back to the chat feature to start a chat session with the user so I can communicate with them.

Remote Connection Audit
I have a quick question about auditing remote connections. If I have the "User Confirmation" disabled for a workstation, it will not show the history under Tools > Remote Control and History tab (or under the individual computer remote history - clicking the icon next to the computer name), but I can see the information if I look under Admin > Action Log Viewer and view Remote Connections. If I enable "User Confirmation", the information will show under Admin > Action Log Viewer as well as Tools

Hello, I'm having a few issues with the remote control feature. I cannot connect to any computer for one of two reasons. The first is when the viewer opens but says "Waiting for Presenter" and never loads. The second won't open the viewer, but when I go back to the remote control section it says "Remote Control Port is not reachable from the client computer." under remarks.
Brand new to Desktop Central

Okay, I am brand new to Desktop Central 8, and I am having a bit of trouble getting the Remote Control / Remote View to work on computers that are in our other offices outside of this network.
