DesktopCentral: Chat among users

sorry if I post this here, but i could not find DesktopCentral in the "Select Forum" list on the side int he opening topic form. So feel free to move the ticket if necessary.
One of our customers requested if it was possibile to use the chat tool to allow users to talk with each others.
My understanding is that the chat can be used only by the operators to talk with the end users, and not by the user themselves to talk among each others.
I wanted to confirm this with you and verify, in the case it is not yet implemented, if such feature is anyway in roadmap by chance.
