Office 2010 Deployment - This update package could not be opened
I am attempting to deploy Office 2010 from a network share with Desktop Central. I have had success in the past doing so, but it seems like lately any time I try, I get a failure. Tried with the client's Windows firewall on and off, and there's no third party AV or firewall installed yet. I have ensured the Admin$ share is enabled, file and print sharing is turned on, and so on. Both sets of fixes from these two files have been applied as well: http://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/enableFirewallSettings.txt

Problems display missing patches
Hello, after the update from build 260 to 279 the missing patches are not displayed correctly. In the menu item: "Patch Mgmt" -> "All Patches" the slider "Missing Patches" display "6" in brackets, but in the "Patch View" no patches are displayed. The same in the "Computer View". Only when I use the "Detailed View" all missing patches are displayed. Thank you very much in advance for any ideas. Greetings Ulrich Steuter
Us a template for Automatic Updates
Is it possible to use a patch template with automatic updates? For example, I need to perform automatic updates on a particular Remote Office and Domain and deploy the patches provided: 1. during 90 minute refresh (or at startup - which ever I select) 2. Allow user to skip deployment 3. Allow user to skip reboot 4. Display a custom reboot message. I can do all these for software but not automatic patch deployments. Am I missing something or can this feature set be added in future
Chat - can't select machine when user is logged into more than one computer
When I use the chat tool, for some users, I can view a dropdown list of machines they are logged into and select the machine I want to connect to. For other users, I can view a partial dropdown without any machines listed. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. For most users, I can view the machine dropdown, but this is a problem if I am remote controlling one of the machines they are logged into, and I need to communicate with them.

Start a chat session directly from a remote control window
Would it be possible to add the ability to start a chat session with the machine you are remote controlling directly from the remote control window? Right now, I have to start a remote session and then go back to the chat feature to start a chat session with the user so I can communicate with them.

Does the current version of Desktop Central 8 support Windows 8.1 endpoints ? Windows 8.0 machines are now nagging to upgrade to Windows 8.1. If Windows 8.1 is not yet supported when will this be rolled into Desktop Central ?

Custom script removed from deployment list - still being run by clients
I downloaded the Disable Flash Autoupdate script from the forum. The first version caused an error in 32 bit machines, and an error message popped up at login since I set the script to run at each login. The revised script works fine, but although I have deleted the original script from the custom script deployment task list, the clients still run it. Shouldn't the agent be updating with the current list of scripts to be run or no longer run?

SW HTTP Repository Error
I tried changing my http software repository to a network share and after restarting desktop central server I got the following error. Desktop Central is unable to reach the Patch Store / Software Repository I tried looking for some config file where I could change it back but so far no luck. And since Desktop Central won't start I can't just change it back in there. Any help would be appreciated.

I went to delete the new default groups in MDM and I can't seem to make that happen. I changed the default self-enrollment groups to ones that I created, but it still does not delete them.

Hello, I already use the configuration templates to turn off autoupdate of Adobe Acrobat and Java. Could you provide a similar template for Adobe Flash (ActiveX and non-IE)?
Is there a disable Adobe Flash updater configuration template being worked on?
I tried to use this script (flashautoupdate.txt) but it did not work. I renamed the file to flashautoupdate.vbs, setup a custon script and deployed it. The script ran successfully according to DC. But my Flash setting is still set to Allow Adobe to install updates (recomended). Did I do something wrong? Is there a Disable Adobe Flash being worked on?
Service Won't Start after 80279 Update
I updated our Desktop Central installation to 80279 and now the service won't start. The event viewer shows an error that says: The ManageEngine Desktop Central service terminated with service-specific error %%-1 I'm also seeing MySQL startup events and shutdown events that correspond with the service start and stop.
Incorrect Path when adding a new Software Package
When adding a new software package, DC adds it successfully, but the path showing on the administrartion site is different than the actual path where the files were actualy uploaded. This results in errors when the package is deployed, like (Path not found) The path showing on the admin portal: swrepository\1\swuploads\SoftwareName The actual path where the files exisit: swrepository\DCSWHttpRepository\1\swuploads\SoftwareName Why is this happening and how can we fix it? How would I be able to execute a query to bulk-import a list of IP scopes into Desktop Central? I have imported my remote offices, but no functionality exists for doing the same with IP Scopes. I have a CSV that contains my desired IP scope and the remote office name. Can a query be produced to import this, or is there an interface through which I could dump it into DC8's database?
