Suggestion: option for "apply configuration" alongside "install patch"
At the moment, if I look at the 'missing patches' view for a particular patch (e.g. Google Chrome) I can see a list of hosts that still require this patch. I can select hosts with a checkbox and then press the 'install patch' button at the top if I want an immediate deployment. For me, many of the patches are showing with a status of "Patch update is delayed since application in use" -- this is expected as we do not force daily reboots of our computers. What I would find *incredibly* useful is if
Remote Office Replication Lag
We have Desktop Central configured with multiple remote offices all setup with unlimited bandwidth and 2 minute interval for replication using the same replication policy. What we're noticing is when deploying day latest patched immediately to a device on a remote office we're seeing a significant wait before the replication occurs, way over 2 minutes. Just get the following error of the configuration;- Configuration has not been replicated to the Distribution Server. Verify the communication between
Installation Failed - This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator.
I am using my domain admin credentials to install an MSI. 85% of the installations fail with the error: "Installation Failed - This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator." I verified that my admin credentials are valid. I have tried both uploading the MSI (From Local Computer) and using a publicly accessible network path (From Shared Folder). The results are the same: ~85% failure with the same message. If I remote in to one of the machines with the same domain
Windows 10 1909 update methods?
I've read that for systems running Win 10 1903, the 1909 update will be a smaller service pack deployment that should install much faster and less obtrusively than the full OS reinstall of previous feature updates. Will Desktop Central support this update method, and if so, when?
Change timeout on deployment popup for Mac
Hi, I was just testing the latest macOS security update, and found that when I deployed it with a 'don't notify, but prompt for reboot' setting I get a popup in the bottom of the screen saying something like "your administrator has scheduled an update, you can postpone it or apply now" and there's a timer that counts down before it's automatically applied. The timer is set at 5 minutes -- is there any way to change this? This is way too short a time to be viable in my enterprise - I want to change

Software Package Creation, Pre-Deployment Activity question
I have created a package that has two pre-deployment activities. The 1st is a bat file to disable the auto proxy config. the 2nd is to uninstall the current proxy software. The questions come from the Uninstall Software activity. It requires a Software Version. Since our machines may have different versions of the software that needs to be removed, can we use a wild card here? IE: 2.10.* or 2.* or just leave like 2.10. For the Uninstall String, to suppress a reboot, after selecting a predetermined
Find Computername using "Logged On Users"
Hello, which API for Desktop Central would I need to be able to find the computer name using the "Logged On User" value. We are on Build Version:10.0.450 For example, If I can wrap the API into a powershell function I can use it as: Get-LoggedOnUserPC -Username "someUser" This would return : PCNAME1 from Desktop Central's inventory.
Free support for Windows 7 Extended Security Updates (ESU)
Hello everyone, Microsoft has announced the end of life for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008/2008 R2. This means that you will no longer get bug fixes, security updates, or new functionalities for this version of the OS. We would suggest you to migrate to the latest version of Windows 10 as soon as possible to avoid potential cyber attacks. Incase you are unable to migrate on time or reluctant to upgrade, you can purchase and avail the Extended Security Updates (ESUs) that Microsoft offers for
Running Script during subsequent startup is not working correctly
If we want to deploy a CustomScript (Computer) during next startup of clients, (subsequent startup {for the next [ 1 ] times}, this works on a subset of the selected clients only. Some clients don't get the script. Using [deploy once] does the job on all clients. Has somebody same experience and solution of the problem? Regards Rainer

New Error messages, no documentation.
I've come across a few new error messages I have yet to see before and i'm not finding anything in the documentation or Google searches. Before being asked to upload logs, can someone explain what they mean so I may see if it's something on this end that can be fixed by myself. Error: An attempt was made to create more links on a file than the file system supports. Error: Transaction support within the specified resource manager is not started or was shut down due to an error. Each of these errors
Issues with Desktop and MDM Plugin
I have updated to the latest build for Desktop Central and Service Desk, and for the technicians, we enabled the option Enable to access Desktop and MDM Plugin Functionality. However, when we try to use that functionality, we get an error shown in the image below I have tried to contact support but they weren't able to find a solution. I've been trying to find that plugin but I can't find it anywhere on the site.
Patch now! 2 new use-after-free zero day vulnerabilities in Chrome.
Google Chrome decided to spook its users this Halloween by issuing an update that fixes 2 new use-after-free vulnerabilities "CVE-2019-13720" and "CVE-2019-13721", of which CVE-2019-13720 is already exploited in the wild. Use-after-free flaw, which in the least could result in a crash or could be leveraged by an attacker to run arbitrary codes or even enable remote code execution. CVE-2019-13720 - affects the Chrome's audio component. CVE-2019-13721- affects the PDFium library. Google also announced,
Custom report with Remarks
I've been through all the options I could find to create a report that contains remarks from a specific screen, however, I am unable to locate such. Is it possible to get a report based of certain criteria? If you go to Patch Mgmt > Dashboard > Deployments Failed Click on a computer that is missing patches or click the number of patches a particular computer is missing. On this screen there is a column for remarks. It's these remarks that are defining why a system is missing said patches. Where

Bios Update Database
I'm curious as to how often the BIOS versions are updated in the patch management database? I was testing this with a Dell Optiplex 7060 in our environment and according to DC, it was up to date with BIOS version 1.3.4 (released 4/4/19), however Dell's support site shows a newer version available for the 7060; version 1.4.2 released 7/5/19. This just makes me concerned as to how up to date the DC database really is...
USB Pass through
Good afternoon all, We're currently demoing Desktop Central on a couple of servers and laptops. One issue we have encountered is that we only use PIV cards to login to all of our servers. Only authorized personnel have a PIV Card. The issue we're having is that we can't remotely pass through our PIV card to login to a remote server. Local admin accounts are disabled on all servers, so we have to use a LAPS account to login remotely. Unfortunately, this lacks the oversight of who is actually
Why the big difference in time stamps
I've finally gotten around to digging into some reports. I am seeing major discrepancies in time stamps. A computer can be listed as Last Checked in in June of this year yet will state the Agent Upgraded yesterday. What are the differences between Last Contact, Last Boot and Agent Upgraded? One would think that if the agent was upgraded, it had to have some sort of contact with the server to realize it needed to e upgraded, thus the other time stamps would update and reflect. Examples: Computer
"Aw, Snap!" messages in the latest Chrome M78 update
Hello All! The latest Google Chrome M78 update faces a high number of "Aw, Snap!" crashes. This is found to be a result of incompatible older versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection running on the computers on your network. Resolution: Update your Symantec Endpoint Protection to version 14.2 or above. Disable the RendererCodeIntegrityEnabled policy. Listed below are few other applications that might be causing the crash, contact the application vendor for a fix. 1. PC Matic 2. Print Audit 3. Palo
Assign Device After Being Wiped
I'm still in the demo stage of MDM, and so far, I really like it. My issue is when a user resets their phone, it removes the user assignment, profile and apps. Currently, we use Apple Business Manager and I was able to get MDM to sync with it and get our devices. I then assign a user, group, profile and apps to a phone. When the phone is booted up and activated, everything works perfect. My settings and apps are automatically installed. My problem is if a user decides to "Wipe all Contents and
Can a computer be automatically readded to desktop central?
Just a simple question. If a computer is manually removed or removed via the AD Sync option from desktop central because it failed to check in, in a specific amount of time, if that computer comes back on line, will desktop central pick it back up and readd it back to the inventory? Example: Computer 7 hasn;t been picked up by DC since Sept 2nd. It's removed from the computers view. Computer 7 is located on Oct 28th in desk drawer and turned on. It then attempts to report back to DC. Will desktop
Redeployment of missed patches
Good Day, I'm trying to figure out what happens if/when a patch is missed during Automated Deployment. Say Patch 3 requires that Patch 1 is installed first but patch 1 requires a reboot. So patch 1 is installed, the computer reboots, will patch 3 then get installed and if need be reboot the computer again? After the reboot when the agent contacts the server again, does it scan itself for missing patches and subsequently install any patches that were missed immediately? Or does the Scan only happen
"Total available RAM" inventory field misnamed
I'm using 10.0.433 and looking at my inventory details (Computers > Computer Details > Hardware > Physical Memory) I believe that where it says "Total Available RAM" the name is a bit misleading, as this appears to be the the maximum RAM the system could support, *not* the total that's in the system. I've checked this on many systems that have 8GB or 16GB and it always lists 32GB in this field. If this field were renamed to "Maximum supported RAM" I think it would be less confusing! Thanks!

I downloaded and installed Desktop Central yesterday. It is build version 10.0.467. Everything is working as I would expect but on the home screen there are two alerts I can't figure out how to clear. They both have a header that reads "Activate before its too late! "{0} Distribution Servers below {1} version are inactive and will no longer be managed by Desktop Central if they do not contact the server in {2} days." "0 agents below version are inactive and will no longer be managed by Desktop

We attempting to set up a Folder Redirection configuration to change the My Documents folder to point to a personal folder on a filer server. We have several fire servers on different sites that are all under different subnets. The DC server resides on the 10.0.x.x subnet while other File Servers reside on their respective site subnets, i.e. 10.1.x.x and 10.2.x.x Currently we are only able to see available resources in our domain for the 10.0.x.x subnet. Is there some way to add in the file servers
Desktop Central agents not connecting after upgrade
I just upgraded Desktop Central from 10.0.0-SP-364 to 10.0.0-SP-435. The server starts fine and I am able to login via the web UI, however none of my agents are able to connect. If I run the agent troubleshooter, everything appears ok except antivirus. Any ideas what would cause this and how to fix it?
Can the Desktop Central logon timeout be adjusted?
I have to multitask, so I spend too much time logging in and out of the application Thank you
