Hello everyone,
We posted an announcement earlier that mentioned the way in which the MAK key could be deployed using Desktop Central. This is a follow-up post on how to check if the ESU license has been installed.
Steps to verify if ESU license has been activated successfully
- Open command prompt.
- Type slmgr /dlv then press Enter.
- Verify the license status. It must show Licensed for the corresponding ESU program.
- View the attachment below for clarity.

What happens when Windows 7 patches are released in February or hereafter?
Microsoft will release Windows 7 patches in the same manner in which other patches are released. Customers who have purchased the ESU license and have applied it to their environment, will be able to install these patches successfully.
For customers who have not purchased the ESU license, the same patches will show an error message or will not install.
With ManageEngine, you dont have to have any additional license nor do you need to perform any other configuration. You can simply push the missing patches to your endpoints, like you have done so far. The only requirement is to have a Windows 7 ESU license applied to your endpoints.
Cheers,
ManageEngine Team
