Desktop Central - Downloaded Patches Detail
Within Desktop Central, under Patch Management -> Downloaded Patches, a user can view all of the patches that have been downloaded to the server hosting Desktop Central. From this page, we can delete and approve patches. We cannot, however, view how many systems still require a specific patch. There also is not an option to add this field under the column chooser. Create Default Gateway Policy
We have several gateways on our network but only 1 is set to go through our iPrism web filter. Some employees have learned how to bypass the filter by changing their gateway. Is there a way to make a group policy through Desktop Central in which makes it mandetory to use the set default gateway?
Column addition
In Desktop Central under Patch Management-Automate Patch Deployment I have a Scheduled patch task to update ForeFront Clients. Once it's finished we can see desktops that have not been updated. My question is can there be another column created for last login under download status. We would like to visually inspect the non updated desktops without having to click on them to find out who they belong to.
Can't uninstall Desktop Central
I tried the: To uninstall Desktop Central, select Start --> Programs --> ManageEngine Desktop Central --> Uninstall But it keeping wanting to re-install. Why would it uninstall a program? I have DC set to scan, download and deploy any missing updates for all software.

I have almost 200 computers with older versions of Desktop Central. I have seen the option to install and uninstalling option but can not find the option to reinstall. There is some automatic way to reinstall?
Shared network printer configuration
I have created a configuration to add a networked printer when users log into specific computers. The shared network path to the printer is correct, as is the Target (Domain, Apply to: OU, and OU name have been selected and there are computers in the OU). The Execution Status is reading "No targets available". In what state do the computers need to be in order for them to be included? Thank you. Ellen Jones
Error while configuring server messge when I try to install Desktop Central
Hello, I get the following error(s) when I try to install Desktop Central on a Windows 2003 x64 server. It copies the desktopcentral_compressed.exe file to the C:\Program Files (x86)\DesktopCentral_Server\ directory but that's were it stops. I can manually run the exe and it extracts, however the DC icon just keeps flashing in the system tray. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Generate Warning Tickets in ServiceDesk for Detection When Prohibited Software In Desktop Central
At the MidEast conference, @Romanus suggested that better SD/DC integration is in the pipeline, but is it in the pipeline to integrate better so that if a user repeatedly tries to install prohibited software, it will generate a warning ticket and message to a user to explain to them the software is prohibited and that it will not be allowed/infractions can occur? That would be really useful in my environment, and I imagine others.
Configure machines network settings
Is it possible to change a single or group of machines network settings using Desktop Central? We want to change the DNS settings for all machines that currently have a static DNS set? Thanks Matt

Can someone explain how DesktopCentral changes user account passwords on machines? Programs deleted from DesktopCentral store
I am in the process of clearing out old applications. I deleted them from Desktop Central but when I look at the store, they are still there. Is this behavior by design? To give you an example: I deleted the itunes application that resides in swrepository\swuploads\... I then went into the swuploads (store) directory and see 300271-iTunesSetup 300271-iTunesSetup_10.5.1.42 I can see the same for java, flash and acrobat. Thanks Charles
Integration with SD+
Hello, Does anyone know if/whether the agent used by desktop central is the same/compatible with the agent used by service desk plus? I have some agents and asset data in SD+ already, and I'd like to add desktop central into this (specifically for patch management) but I don't want to redeploy the agents or have to regenerate all of the asset data already configured in SD+.

Dell Warranty status not updating correctly
Hi, I am currently running DC8 ans while most of the warranty details have been scanned correctly, there are some which are currently showing as expired even though they have been purchased this tear. When I look at the machine info it shows the correct purchase date but the expiry date is the same date. When I then perform a scan for the information it used to bring up a dialog box saying the details supplied were incorrect and when I clicked on the tag link it took me to the Dell warranty page

Shutdown Computers tool
Hi, I tried to use this software tool to replace our current limited solution, however during testing I couldn't get the app to find the computer. The app wants me to enter a domain address, but there is no such environment here, only workgroups and even putting the work group name didn't let the software find the computer. Is there anyway to use his tool to shut down computers that aren't on domains? Thanks

Office 2010 Installation Times Out
I followed the video posted on the ME website concerning the non-network share installation of Office 2010 (http) and the installation is timing out. I verified the download files are available. I verified the 7za.exe process is running after the initial configuration executes, but nothing happens. I extracted the 7z file with the same command used in Desktop Central and it unzips without error. Need help! Thanks.

Show Disk Space in MB instead of GB
Good Morning, I'm trying to schedule a report of disk space for a set of systems in Desktop Central, but there is only an option to show free disk space in gigabytes. I am looking to get a little more detailed than this and would like to view this down to the megabyte. Is there a way to get "free megabytes" vs. "free gigabytes"? Thanks! -Tim

Local Group Membership
I ran the Local Group Members report on the local Administrators group under Inventory reports and it only shows users, but no groups that are nested in this group. How do I get a full listing of users and groups located in local Administrators group on my workstations?
Removal of prohibited software
Hi, Why can not all prohibited software be uninstalled automatically? Google Toolbar version 1 can but 7.1.2003.1856 and later versions can't. We're also finding that later versions can not be uninstalled automatically. Any ideas? Thanks, Matt

DC agent apply configurations once connected to internet
DC agents check for new policies and configurations every 90 minutes. We have external users who are not immediately connected to the internet when they logon to their PC's (they use wireless cards). This delays receiving configurations for 90+ minutes. Sometimes, they're not online for 90 minutes and don't get the configuration for days. Can the agent be setup to detect an internet connection (query the DC server every 5 minutes or so) and apply configurations as soon as it can contact the server?
