Custom Software Groups

Recently our installation of desktopcentral had an issue with the Apache services. We could not resolve the issue, so regrettably another team member reinstalled desktopcentral. I didn't mind this much, as it gave me a chance to familiarise with settings again. However, i cannot seem to find the create custom groups option for software.
 
If i go to the Inventory tab and then look in the Actions/Settings pane to the left of the window, i do not have a Group Software link available. I'm sure this was available previously as i had created groups in the past. The documentation i've found also says that it's meant to be available through there.
 
I did have an initial message presented (within inventory tab) telling me i could group software and it provided a link to do so. I clicked on the link, created one software group successfully and then clicked back to Inventory tab. The initial message had disappeared and was replaced with one about category management, and since then i have not been able to find a way of getting back to creating groups again.
 
Can someone please advise why i may be missing this link, or where to find it. We are currently running Build no 80035.
