Hi, We are trying out your software on the 30 day trial and are having two problems. The first is that two Solaris servers we are trying to monitor do not accept pings. They are up and running but Applications Manager says they are down because the "Ping Test Failed". Is there some way of testing these servers other than the pinging them? The second problem is with monitoring Weblogic 9.1 servers. They connect and show them available, but they say "Data Collection in progress. Please wait till the

Monitoring of WebSphere cluster doesn't work properly. Hi, I was really excited with your software and the possibility of monitoring our WebSphere cluster. After few tests I realized the software isn't working well with Network Deployment. Following the instructions in the documentation, I created a monitor for my WS Cluster. Browsing that monitor I noticed that there isn't any information about my cluster. The nodes and servers were not discovered. Checking the stdout.txt I encountered the following

Oracle Monitor Creation Error
I have installed AppManager on a Linux Server 1, but I am trying to create monitors for Linux Server 2 and Linux Server 3. I have successfully created monitors for JBoss, Apache, and OS (Linux Server 1)and have created a monitor for the OS (Linux Server 3). I'm running into a problem when I'm trying to create a monitor for Oracle 10G Linux Server 3). After clicking on the Add Monitor button, the system just hangs and never actually creates the Oracle Monitor. However, if I put incorrect credentials

adding jmx attributes global
so currently support about 40 instances of jboss and montior several custom jmx attributes. I am finding it to be a bit of a task when adding the attributes alone can take up to 20 - 25 minutes per instance ( that is only adding 4 or 5 attributes ). It would be nice to have a way to globally add the monitors to each instance. for the interim, I am hoping someone can provide me all the tables and fields involved to plug one in from the database, that way I can eliminate the slow navigation in the

Is it possible to monitor mail flow. The Application Manager polls a POP3 account, but it doesn't test if the incoming and outgoing mail server is working. For example send a bogus mail to yahoo, and wait for a bounce back message. That way it shows that the system works sending external mail, also recieving mail. More a clarification and diagnosis than problem. I am montoring a tomcat 5.5.17 server and am getting a significant number of errors in the response summary. Nearly 50% Success/50% Errors. I am not sure what it is monitoring and how it is picking up errors. The applications running under tomcat seem to be working perfectly. I don't see any problems in the tomcat logs. Any ideas? As a licensed user, I have noticed a few things with application manager 6. FIRSTLY: The downtime scheduler seems to not work as expected if you arrange for downtime between say, Friday 9pm and Monday 8AM. I have a feeling this is because Monday is the start of a new week. I will try adding an extra day so we have Friday-Sunday 23:59 and monday 00:00 until 8AM. However, I expect the application to either throw an error or not allow it. SECONDLY: ManageEngine does not seem to be firing scripts as

I am trying to setup a monitor for an MSSQL server in Applications Manager 6. I am inputting all the connection details but the authentication fails. I am fairly certain this is down to us running our SQL server in windows authentication ONLY. On one of our testing sql servers we run in mixed mode and using the sa password it works fine. This is stopping me monitoring our live servers. Is there a workaround or fix planned for this? Matt Withers ------------------------------------------------------

As with any firewall protected production system, I have requested that ports 80 & 443 are opened from the machine ManageEngine is installed on. I can setup a telnet monitor successfully to those ports, but not an Apache monitor, which I could do on non-firewall protected systems. Any reason why the error "Service not running" appears for Apache monitor, whereas a telnet succeeds ? Each of the team members has our own pager (and hence a unique pager number). I written a script to run under the Execute Program Action. I would like to have this script select the current pager
