Sceduled disk usage reports come through empty
running AppManager 9 build 9500 on Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Ed. We have a scheduled report to tell us the "top 10 Disk Usage" offenders on our network, but every day when the report runs we get two PDFs that say "No data available to generate report for specified time period. Even if I try changing the time period to 1 week or 1 month, I get the same result. I've also tried recreating the report from scratch with no luck. What am I doing wrong here?
Problem with "Execute Program" action
I'm trying to configure an alarm that execute a program. I also configured an email action to send an alarm to my email when the application stop responding. When I shut down the application for testing (an Oracle database) I receive the e-mail but the batch file is not executed. Both actions are configured correctly on the alarm section of the monitor. The batch file I am trying to execute is: psexec \\w2003 c:\scripts_ora8\start.cmd I also tried: @psexec \\w2003 c:\scripts_ora8\start.cmd

Only one JMX Applications Monitor can be created
I try to create 2 JMX Applications Monitors for 2 Java processes running on a Linux server. Both Java processes are registered with the JNDI server on the Linux server (port 1099) with 2 different JNDI names. After I have succesfully created the JMX Applications Monitor for the first Java process I tried the create the second one. Creation seems successfull, no errors are reported. Rest API Get Category name for a monitor
Hi, We have a need to categorize the results served by the ListMonitor and other api calls based on their main and sub categories. Is there a way to do this? SLA planned downtime
Hi, We're trying to use the SLA report but having some issues because the SLA includes Planned Downtime as actual downtime. For example if we schedule planned downtime for 2 hours maintenance, our SLA would not count this as downtime as we would schedule this with the business. The SLA Report in Applications Manager would show that we've breeched our SLA even though this was planned maintenance. Also, can we make the SLA apply to only certain business hours? Thanks, James

Hello, Is there a way for us to change the layout of the server SLA report? Currently it runs onto 2 pages Can we remove/resize some columns - currently some server names are forced onto 2 lines because there's not enough space Can we hide servers not covered by our SLA? (dev servers are not covered but still show up in the report) Can we hide the pie chart section at the top of the report? We're having an issue sorting by the SLA Name column - when we click on it not all items seem to be sorted
SLA for network devices
Hi there, We're using the server SLA to report on all of our servers. We plan to add all of our network switches as ping monitors to verify their availability. These devices are also covered by our SLA but I can't find a way to generate an SLA report to show uptime of each of these devices in the same way as the server SLA. Is this possible? Cheers, Strak

Hello, One of our Windows monitors is reporting: System is Down. Ping test failed. The server is pingable, and I can RDP to it, but it is still reported as down. Plese help!
Bulk delete network interfaces?
Hello, When adding a host, all defined interfaces are added to monitoring, including loopback or dial-up adapters. Is there a way to delete all interfaces that do not contain the word Intel in the name from all hosts? I could do this from SQL, if you can just point me to the right tables. Thank you

I've tried every combination to get the script monitor going, I keep getting the same error Could not establish a session with the host. Kindly check the host information. I can manually telnet to the machine, so I know it's working. The machine I'd like to Telnet to is a Windows XP SP3 machine, is there any limitations ?

AIX CPU usage hourly average
I have an AIX (v5.1) server being monitored and recenty the hourly average % has -2,506,511,387.454 displayed at various times, this causes the graphs to look wrong and hard to troubleshoot server loading issues. example below Date Time Minimum value in % Maximum value in % Hourly Average in % Jul 11,2011 9:00 - 100 -2,506,511,387.454 Any ideas ? regards dub

Hello, We are having MS Exchange 2007 with SP2 (Version 8.2 build 176.2) running on Windows Server 2003 R2 64bit in our environment. We are using ManageEngine Applications Manager 9 to monitor this server. The issue is I am not able to capture any information about the Exchange server. Everything is showing as NA. I ran the command "wmiadap /f" couple of times on the Exchange server but still no luck. Please advise how I can gather the information of Exchange server. Thanks

IIS Monitor - Specific URL's
I want to be able to monitor IIS on our front end web servers, however our web apps require a subdomain to be specified to process any incoming requests. When I monitor IIS with AppManager, it does show up fine but gives our software fits because it's requesting non-specific URL's. Is there a way to tell the monitor to ping the server using a specific URL or maybe change the method by which it is checking? I only see the https and polling interval options under edit monitor.

MQ Monitoring
I start to test the App Manager to connect to our testing MQ server but fail. It always said “Monitor is down .Couldn't establish connection.” But if telnet the port from AppManager Server to testing MQ server is ok. The pre-requisite of jar is imported and the server said they are ok. The App Manager 9.x is running on a Centos Box while the MQ is on windows. I am not sure it caused the issue or not.

How to monitor postgres without providing password
Hi all I have installed Appmanager 9 and build number is 9500. I tried configuring the postgres database under monitoring in app manager but it requires the username and password. The username is postgres but in my database configuration I have not supplied a password. In pg_hba.conf I have 'trust' in the METHOD option for local as well as app manager server's ip. So is there any method to not provide password and start monitoring. If i keep it blank then it still asks to enter something in the password

Monitoring F5 products from AppManager via SNMP
Hello! I'm having some trouble getting AppManager to fully "see" my F5 LTM 1600 devices via an SNMP monitor. I have installed the custom MIBs and can see them to set up as Custom Attributes, but when I select one, it doesn't get addeded to the list. The exception are the MIBs for F5-BIGIP-COMMON-MIB. websphere thread pool reports
From the monitor I am able to see thread pool details of every app server, where as in reports when I select thread details it displays only for server where perfservlet app is installed. Even I selected " All" with "last 7 days" still I get report for one server only. Not sure when I am able to see thread details individually for each app server, in the report it's not.

Linux server disk utilization - no partitions just Total Disk Space
Hi there, Have a red hat server set up using ssh auth and all checks work fine, but I only get total disk usage, not the partitions on the machine. I have run /bin/df -Pm and the output is the same as other servers which are displaying the correct disk usage partitions. I am using: Product Applications Manager 9 Build Number 9500Any help much appreciated. Screen shot attached. Also not getting cpu stats for this host but I think that might be just that's it slow to respond...
Email formatting problems
We've just done a reinstallation of Applciations Manager in order to switch to MS SQL Server. Most things are working correctly but we're having some issues with formatting of alert emails - on the new server it seems that root cause information is sometimes included in the Reason section of the email, and this seems to stop line breaks displaying correctly. Trend Analysis Report Problem
I need to produce trend analysis reports showing the last year for a number of servers. When I produce individual reports for the CPU, memory, disk, they work fine but when I select summary report to regroup all the graphs in the same report, I get only the last couple of months of data, no matter what time period I choose? Incomplete link to appmanager in mail
Hi, Sometimes the the alarm mail contains a link back to appmanger, but this link is incomplete. It only contain the machine-name missing the domain part. Example: http://xxx.yyy.zz:9090/<some more> Then the yyy.zz part is missing, so where should this part be fetched from?
No option of Postgresql database server when clicking New Monitor in appmanager9
Hi all , I have installed applications manager 9 on windows, build no is 9500, and its free edition. when i click on New monitor earlier I used to get the option of Postgresql under Database Server. All of a sudden today when I wanted to create a monitor of Postgresql the option itself is not coming , I have only DB@, ms sql, mysql, oracle and sybase under database server.
