Self service portal questions
I downloaded the demo of ADM+ to try out, but I am a bit confused about the self-service portal feature. When logged in as a basic user in the online demo (4.0), I see the options for unlocking a co-worker's account and specifying which employees are allowed to unlock your own account. I do not see those in the copy I downloaded to run in my test network (4.1), and cannot figure out how to enable them. CSV Import, error with accountExpires
Hello, I'm using a csv file to create multiple user. In my csv, I have the accountExpires value. When I import it, it says an error occured code 8000 and then create user without reading accountExpires. Here is my csv: userPrincipalName,sn,givenName,password,description,accountExpires af0700,af,0700,pass,desc,2008-07-25 the format in my ad server is yyyy-mm-dd for date. I tried yyyy/mm/dd and it didn't change a thing. Thanks for your help
BUG: Help Desk Delegation doesn't work after adding user
After I added a test user to AD via ADM+, I can no longer add Help Desk technicians. When I click browse AD, a window showing only the user I created through ADM+ appears as selections, and the search for the user I want from AD doesn't work. It's like ADM+ is now only searching some internal DB for this function now instead of querying the AD like it should. It worked fine before I added a user through ADM+. Integration with ServiceDeskPlus breaks resolve notification
Just downloaded and installed the V4.2 Pro versn on trial on a seperate server from our live Service Desk Plus installation ( 7011 ). During the ADManager configuration it requests the Service desk port and an admin account so these ( naively ) were entered and tested and accepted fine. Net result is the link at the top of Service Desk Plus now goes to this test install, we don't have a live install of ADManager so that's not an issue. I have created a template for bulk user creation. I want to prevent inheritance of parent folder to the User Terminal Server Home folder. Question regarding changing password
If I have help desk person who is not a Domain Admin and I allow them to reset passwords, will they be able to reset the passwords of all users less than or equal to his access level? Or will they also be able to reset domain admin passwords as well? How exactly does that work? Thanks in advance.

HelpDesk Technician Delegation
I just recently upgraded to 4 helpdesk technician licenses. I continue to get an error when I attempt to delegate a security role to a user. here is the error I am getting: User has no permission Error code 80070005 I have searched the knowledge base with no success. I have also left 2 phone messages with Script Logic and submitted an online support request. I have heard nothing back from any of my requests. I have reviewed all the sections in the documentation for ad manager pro but nothing clearly
Exchange 2007 mailbox creation issue
We have just discovered an issue with the creation of our Exchange 2007 mailboxes using the ADManager tool. What is happening is when an account gets created through AD Manager the account free/busy information is not available. The only we have found to resolve this is if we disconnect the mailbox then reconnect the mailbox then everything works. populating manager field and proxyAddress (secondary) in AD
I am trying to use the create user import option to create accounts. So far most things are working fine except for Manager and a secondary email address. Here is what I am using for Manager: "CN=Norris,CN=Jackie,OU=Hospital,OU=Departments,OU=Executive Staff,OU=Managers,DC=fgh,DC=com" What do I have wrong? If I use this the whole user fails. And for secondary address I have the header "proxyAddress" along with SMTP:xxxx@fghi.com. This does not populate at all.
Changed passwords now problems
We used a third party application to reset many passwords in one swoop within active directory (ADManager). The next business day, many users were reporting locked accounts and needed to physically cut the power to their machines (a full reboot) to log back into thier machines. Outlook (in an Exchange environment) also did not sync the password and was set to offline mode (we had to respecify the password and uncheck Work Offline for Outlook to get back to "normal") The next day when trying to REVERT

Delegates unable to choose templates
All of a sudden my delegates are unable to choose the templates that they are set up for. I have removed the templates and readded them to the users and still nothing. Has anyone seen this?

ADManager to manage DMZ AD
Hi All Can you please advise if it is possible to use ADManager to manage AD in DMZ. currently we are using ADManager with internal domain ie. domain.com and now we want to use ADMAnager to manage dmz domain ie. domain.dmz.com is this possible? what do you think is the required ports to be opened so that ADManager (on internal side) can access the AD in DMZ? please advise. thanks.

Computer Template Option
I would like to suggest the creation of an additional computer Template field. As in the ADUC New Computer Object Window there should be a field where you can specify a group or user that can join that object to the domain. I'm surprised that this hasn't been added yet. This would be much more efficient than having to go through the Delegating Roles path.

Where is standard AD DS user password kept? - What Attribute?
We are a new ADManager customer.... Importing from .CSV file I use givenname,sn,ipPhone,telephonemunber,sAMaccountName,mail, password It all works great. But when I dump the object class "users" for all attributes I do NOT see "password" as an attribute. I have provided the dump script (renamed to .txt) and the output as attachments. I do see all the others .csv import header objects as a direct attibute match. I have also viewed the user account with "attribute editor" and see that "userpassword

Hi, We are running the licensed AD Manager Plus ver 5031. We currently have 3 Heldesk technicians who have the privilege to unlock the user, reset password. We want to achieve the following: 1. Helpdesk should be able to generate report for Disabled, Not logged On, Inactive users. 2. Admin should be able to audit logs of the helpdesk user. E.g. If helpdesk User A has reset the password for a domain account, the admin should be able to trace it via the logs or report. How can we achieve this?

Problems with deleting users and schedule reports
Hi, I'm using ADManager Plus in the trial period, a very good experience so far. But i have 2 problems i can't find out how to solve. When i try to delete a user i get this error: Error Code : 80070005 - Access is Denied. The ADManager service is running under a Domain Admin user and i have modified Edit Domain Details -> "Authentication" and added the domain admin user there also. I can modify users but i can't delete them without getting that error. I can delete a user whit the same username/Domain
Password reset search results (Adding Columns)
Hi, I want to let our helpdesk staff use AD Manager to reset passwords for students. The problem I have is that when they search for a student by name, the results only show the “Name” and “SAM Account Name” both of which are set as their unique Person Code. Is there a way that you can add columns to these search results? I.e. First Name, Last Name? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
