Disable Specific Service Monitors
Hello, We have a couple SQL Express systems and when discovery happened it found them, woo hoo. Now we are constantly getting alerts because the SQL Agent is not running. It will never run because the agent doesn't on SQL Express. How do we change this setting? TIA Jim

When I click on Test Actions button in the Configuration Profiles screen for my email alerts it comes up with this error. Exception occured while executing Send Email action. Please verify the settings for the same Now I have set up my notification email server and tested that, and it worked fine. Any thoughts?

Hi, How do I configure the login details of a device in order to monitor event log? Because when I click on "Event log rules", the message "Windows event log monitoring could not be enabled for this device. To enable windows event log monitoring, you have to configure an administrator username and password for this device. After configuring the login details, please click on Event Log Rules in device snapshot to associate Event Log Rules." displayed. Any idea? Many thanks. Regards, Rita

Hi, Now I am trying "Nslookup" monitoring with scripting. But I cannot execute the script. There is no error message, but it took too long yet noting displayed. Hyper-V no classifying VM
I have a Hyper-V host but it is not classifying some of the VMs as a 'Virtual Device'. I am unable to change the category because I get an error which says: 'The Device Cattegory cannot be changed to Virtual Device, if not discovered as a virtual device' Does anyone know why this may be the case?
Dell PowerVault SAN Template
Has anyone succesfully created a template for a PowerVault MD3000i, 3620i. I have obtained the dell storage mibs, but when I attempt to create a template I get an error reporting 'Device cannot be reached check the SNMP parameters'. This is despite them being correct. I am looking for a way to send an e-mail to a smtp server, then retrieve it using imap or pop (with or without ssl!), and, monitor the total time. Does OpManager have this type of monitor?
Monitoring Spanning Tree links
We have a set of Ethernet switches in a ring using STP, and I would like to monitor the interfaces so that I can detect failures of the links. The method that I am considering is to monitor the two interfaces that connect the ring on each switch (using .1.3.6.1.2.1.17.2.15.1.3) and alert if one of them goes to the disabled(1) state, as in normal operation they will either be forwarding(5) or blocking(2). My questions are: Is there a better way to achieve what I want to do? If this is the best way
email notification stops sending
hi support, We encounter an issue when a device trigger an alert and there is no email notifications sent. We tried to restart the server and notice when we restart it sends email alert but for only for a while then it stops sending again. I confirm that my configurations on email and notification profile is OK. I confirm that i can connect to the mail server (telnet port 25) even nslookup on the addresses is OK. Please advise. Having an issue configuring WMI for our Windows 2008 R2 servers. I have checked security and the monitor account has full root access. When in Opmanager the WMI status is failed. Any ideas ?
Folder Monitor File Count
I am doing a file count in a folder. The count works fine but there are normally no files in the directory. I am getting an "attention" alert that no files match the pattern. Is there a way to suppress this alert? I do not need any type of alert unless there are files in there. I have the threshold set to 1 and the rearm set to 0.
New to OpManager, Exchange questions.
There are two exchange servers but only one acts as the server, other is just redundant. Under Information Store Monitors >Active Connection Count and Active User count what exactly are these? These are showing numbers greater than the amount of employees we have, while the other one shows a very small amount.
Fortinet Firewall - CPU/Memory not showing
Hi, I'm running the latest version (10200) and everything was working fine until I updated my FortiGate firewall (I have a pair of 80C on HA) to the version v4.0,build0665,130514 (MR3 Patch 14) . After the update I can monitor everything but CPU and Memory. Opmanager Won't Start (Java EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error?)
After a server reboot OpManager will no longer load up. The service is running on the server (Win2003) but nothing will come up via a web browser. Fortigate 300C device template with new performance monitors
Hello: I just installed the OpManager 10 on windows to test monitoring of a fortigate 300 C box. I created a new device template because the OIDs for the performance monitors on the Fortigate 300 or 300A templates did not match the correct OIDs to get the CPU, Memory and Session count info for the 300C box. Everything works fine, I can do the polls via SNMP, I receive the traps, etc., but a "cosmetic" issue happend. The dial graphs for CPU, Memory and Session Count said "No Data Available". I googled

[URGENT] Problem on monitoring WMI
There are devices which stopped monitored. WMI credential is fine and CPU is monitored without problem. But other than that, Memory and HDD is not monitored. When I manually check the Performance monitor it works but not automatically every 15 minutes which is intended to. It reads the Memory and HDD only when I manually check. Amending the default Response Time (in ms) monitor
We are running OpManager 11.1 build #11100. I want to setup a response time alert to apply to all our routers which do not currently have SNMP enabled. MSSQL Monitor shows (100%) Logfile Used % for a mirrored database
We have a sql database server with a couple of databases. 1 of these databases is a mirrored database. When we monitor the mirrored database the "Logfile Used %" monitor shows a 100% full logfile on the failover partner. Is this 'by design' or is there something I can adjust in the settings?

OpManager SSL Active Directory LDAP
Hi there, we have OpManager running over different network segments, and want to use AD integrated authentication. However, we cannot use SSL LDAP authentication to connect to probes on other segments and we cannot reduce the firewall security to allow plain LDAP. Any ideas? Andy
SNMP Monitoring
I am just curious to as if there is a setting to set or a default value for the SNMP community that opmanager listens on for snmp traps being sent to it. I know where to set the string for it to poll other devices and request/write data, but not how it listens.
Edit interface display name
Hi, Under device snapshot > Interfaces tab, the device Display Name is listed as the hardware detail (same as description - Broadcom..). - refer screenshot IFDescription.png. But I notice for all other devices, it is shown as "IF-Hostname" for display name. - refer screenshot IFHostname.png. Any reason why that particular device not able to populate display name as IF-Hostname? How can I edit it so that i can standardise it? Thanks.
