service pack 3 build # question
the forum announcement says service pack 3 takes desktop central to build 60300. the full version I downloaded and installed about 2 weeks ago gives me version 60301, does sp3 need to be installed?
Uninstall
Trying to uninstall and re-install an agent on a specific machine but its asking me to select a computer but there is no option or check box or anything to select it under admin/scope of management. The agent is corrupted and i cannot remove it from the system otherwise

Can DC do this?
I need to be able to turn ON Remote Desktop on all my clients and disable all windows updates because I can manage them through Desktop Central. I will be checking out Configuration and Templates to see if I can do this. If not I would love to be able to control these through Desktop Central. Jamie

When i try to install the agent in XP machines this error appear (see attachment), i have found others forum users with the same problem, and similar posts, but no solution, does someone found how to resolve this issue ????????? I'm using the domain administrator account when trying to install.

Couple of questions
Firstly, I want to tell you how impressed I was with installation and configuration. Within 15 minutes of starting the download, I had my test lab in the console and software being pushed down to it. I have a couple of questions. Firstly, we are a decent sized company, with 9 sites and somewhere around 700 workstations. I see you can define office locations by IP range, which is very helpful. However- is there any replication between site repository servers, or am I expected to install a full version
Patching
Getting errors such as "%1 is not a valid Win32 application" and patch already installed errors. I have updated to latest SP and rescanned for patches before attempting. Will follow up with logs and screenshots. JMan5000

Inventory Problem
Using Desktop Central V6 Build Number 60201 We have just deployed Office 2007 Professional Plus (manually, not through Desktop central) throughout our organisation and when I ran a report to show Software by Volume, it is showing each PC twice in the list, once with the installed date and once without, but the total installed is counting both. We know we are well in compliance with the number of installs but of course now because of the double counting Desktop central it is showing us out of compliance.
Multiple Homepage Tabs
Is there a way to make multiple homepage tabs within DC? I can change the homepage to anything I want per User under DC but it always replaces the first homepage tab. I have users that require more then one homepage tab. Jamie
Port blockage and active sync
Could the inistallation and configuration of this software block active sync with Exchange. I installed this software and this being the only change on my network, now all of a sudden no one can active sync with Exchange. Is there a port being blocked or a firewall preventing that from happening. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Im unable to update the patches why. sometimes it update the patches and sometimes it just failed. and out of 10desktop 1pc are not updated at all even the agent was installed and the scan process is working.. pls help sathish

dcconfig.exe error
On several of my workstations, at seemingly random times, I get an error message that says dcconfig.exe had an error and had to be shutdown. I have using trial version of Deskop Centrl 6. However, I use batch file on "Run the Script before Installing Software" under Software Package Repository> Add Software Package. Vulnerability DB Sync?
My Vulnerability DB will not sync. It acts like it is going to then it states "The Page Cannot Display" and it never updates that it sync'd. I have it setup to sync everyday but it has not sync'd since December 21st. Anyone else having this problem? Jamie

hi i have installed the client.exe and able to scan all the pc. i deployed the patch..the say completed but failed to apply the patched to clients. there is nothing block in between. Two of my clients for Desktop Central 6 have had pop up errors regarding AgentTrayIcon.exe not being able to start. AgentTrayIcon.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Hi, Im configuring the ticket templates, since the language is portuguese we have special characters that appear wronlgy. I cant edit after saving a template with those characters and neither can I delete it, How can I configure this to work with our characters and how can I delete the template? Turn wireless OFF when wired is ON?
Is there a method (or tool) that I might use Enterprise wide to force wifi OFF on laptops when they get docked or plugged into wired ports? I am worried about bridging, and users NEVER remember to flick that little switch to disable the radio so I'd like to force it whenever they plug the wired in and connect to the ethernet.

I'm trying to test deploying office 2007 using Desktop Central. However, there's no place to enter xml files.. Has any of you used desktop central to roll out Office 2007. Patch Management and Bandwidth Utilization
I am in the process of just getting the eval version set up. We have a dispersed environment w/ 31 remote offices, each with a domain controller. I am looking at this for a replacement of WSUS. All of our offices connect back to corporate via PIX or ASA VPN's. Does anyone have any background on how big of a bandwidth hog the patch management is? I don't want to waste my time.
