1. What protocol is responsible to get Services (With details like version), Processes and installed applications (and their versions) from a device? is SNMP capable of doing all that?
2. Do all vendors utilize SNMP traps to alert both device shudown and reboot? Do they discriminate between shutdown and rebbot (cold start and wram start) in their traps and logs?
3. Do System level services like Webservers, Databases, Mail servers, .. get monitored through TCP? If so, why MSSQL and ExchangeServer would rely on WMI to be monitored and don't get monitored if the OPManager isd installed on a Linux machine? -
mentioend here - (Couldn't OPManager monitor MSSQL, ... via TCP)?
