Feature Request: Note emails don't include link to request
The option to email the technician when updating a note results in an email with no links to the issue. This does not appear to be a customizable template either. Usefulness of notes is greatly diminished without essential metadata.
Any succesful 7.5 upgrade
Hi everybody, Waiting a long time for the 7.5 upgrade package, but it is there!!! But looking at all the forum posts it looks like it is very buggy. And Support is not responding on the forum calls yet. But is there anybody who already upgraded to 7.5 without any problem? I like to upgrade but I need to be sure that it went well. 7.5 Upgrade (patched) - Enterprise Licence Message
The newly patched 7022 to 7500 upgrade produces a message "Some of the software found to be moved from Enterprise licence to Individual licence earlier. See SoftwareInfo.txt in SDP_Home directory" What are we meant to do with the information in the file, what will the upgrade have done to the data in the database, what are the implications of just doing nothing? Absence of Change tab for an Asset
Dear, Currently every asset has "Requests" tab but doesn't have the Change tab. Of course in order to see all changes assigned to assets I can execute report but I don't think that this is always convenient. Could you please add separate Change tab for asset? My Regards, Vlad

Strange NAT problem
I am running Servicedesk plus on a linux VM. I had a firewall forwarding the port 8080 to the private IP. This was working perfectly. Today the firewall crashed, so I changed the gateway settings on the service desk server to point to a secondary firewall, redirected the ports there, but it doesn't work. I can redirect any other port successfully (such as ssh, apache, etc), but the servicedesk application itself doesn't work any more through the new NAT router. Any ideas?
Unable to log in SDP+ web browser after 7.5
Hi, i've tryed to upgrade from sdplus 7.022 to sd+7.5, but it occured an error while upgrading and now i'm unable to connect through Web Browser ! The service is started. I can't uninstall Service Pack 7.022 ! It says "unistallation is currently not supported". When I launch MySQL administrator on port 33366, it returns an error.Please refer to Attachment. Thanks
How to Test restore to new server
I want to perform a restore of our servicedesk server to a test environment to verify the data backups work properly. Our servicedesk software connects to a remote sql server database. Ideally I have a test servicedesk server and a test SQL server at which I can restore data on to and verify functionality without disrupting the production system. Upgrade to 7.5 - Unable to take backup
Having a problem doing a test upgrade of 7022 to 7.5 When I start the process using updateManager it attempts to take the backup as it normally does, but them fails stating it has a problem taking the back. Hence not proceeding. System is shutdown. I've taken backups using Backupdata twice now and these have worked. The system is a clean 7022 build with our live data then restored to it and checked to see it is operating in 7022 environment. What log file do I need to be looking at to determine the

SDP not starting after 22 > 7.5 upgrade
Hello, we've recently upgraded our sdp 22 version to the new 7.5 version and now our when i try the run command it shows adventnetservicedesk [FAILED] tried to empty the extracted folder and the tmp folder, stopdb,shutdown and tried run again but with same results. any help is appreciated. thanks
Migrate data from 7022 to 7500 MSSQL
Provided that the migration form 7022 to 7500 did not work at all!!, I made a fresh install of 7.5 and it is working, now I want to migrate the data in 7022 backup file, how to do that?? . The restoreDB.bat refuses to take and older version backup
Scanning different Sites
We're using the newest update 7.5.0 build 7500 and we have 2 different sites set up. One for the US and one for the UK. We need to have them do an inventory scan at different times. Because of the time difference between our two sites if we set the scan for noon US time we scan the people here but the people in the UK never get scanned. How can we scan the two sites at different times?

V7.5 - Unable to log in as Administrator
I recently finished setting up a brand new install of 7.5 as administrator, imported all my users in, created technicians, gave them all admin rights and then logged off. Now when my technicians goto login, it automatically selects our domain from the drop down and lets them log in, but only as users. Plus the Administrator account no longer works as all, I get a "Domain not found" in the dropdown when I type in the name and a "undefined" error when I try to login ad admin So its all ready to go
Scanning Windows CE
Hello Tried searching the forum if there was a way to do an inventoryscan of Windows CE clients. Can�t find any information on this so now I�m asking. We have Neoware Windows CE clients and all we get is RPC error when scanning them. I know that neowares own software uses snmp to get information from them so can i get SDP to do that too ?
Local Validation is not working when AD Auth. is enabled
Hi, When I activate AD Authentication (and SSO) I cannot login with a local user account. Therefore the integration to Opmanager is not working. If I disable AD Auth. then Opmanager integration is working ok. Running clean install of SDP v. 7.5 (port 80) Opmanager build 7202 I have seen this before, in the earlier versions, and hoped it would be fixed by now. What is wrong ?????
v7.5 upgrade problems starting
We just applied the migration pack to our 7022 system. The upgrade appeared to complete properly but upon trying to start the service desk server, it made it to application layer started and the progress indicator was at about 85% and then it just hung and never went any further. We rebooted the server just as a shot and upon startup, service desk again made it to application layer started and the progress indicator made it about 85% and then it just hung. What to we need to do? Thanks
7500 upgrade Graphics not displayed properly in Firefox 3.0
Upgrade from 7022_1 to 7500 on WinXP Pro SP3 was fine. Graphics in IE7 look fine. In Firefox 3.0.4 however the tab bar does not display the grphics. Pretty much none of the graphics appear on the top bar. The calendar also fails to display properly. May be a problem in Firefox 3.0.4.

Asset Scan Problem
We are having a problem with the asset scanning. Reading through some earlier posts, I noticed that the Asset scan first uses the BIOS service tag, and if this not does exist it uses the hostname to uniquely identify to computer. The problem we are having is that we have 5 or so computers that have the same asset tag in BIOS. The asset tags for these motherboards are all set to "System Serial Number" and cannot be changed. Save backups on to another location
Hi, I know it is possible to define backup location under Admin panel. But is it also possible to save backups on to another server? I tried \\servername\location syntax but didn't work. Also I tried to use virtual drive option but still had no luck. Thanks.
Purchase Order problem
Hi, when i create a new purchase order, I select a vendor, the shipping address and the billing address. Then I choose product type and the product that vendor sells. The problem is that the product doesn't appear in the array below. I've checked information in admin\product section. Please refer to screen1. Thanks
malicious CAB member restrictions
Dear, I am sure that CAB member (who is not technician) must see (only see!) all information regarding change (including associated with this change incidents, problems etc. i.e. all information that has relation to this Change). ServiceDesk 7022 - French characters not recognized

Workstation scan
hello. got a problem. scan workstation by computer name "name1" and that's ok, i see IP address 10.10.1.1 (for example). then try to scan other workstation by name "name2" and its write that all correct, i see IP address 10.10.2.4 but when i look at list workstations, i see that "name1" disappear. then i try scan name "name1" and all correct, but "name2" disappear. then i try ("name1" is in list) enter new workstation with name "name2", scan and get error, that workstation already exists. what's
Hide Solution Tab
I see several posts in the past about hiding the solutions tab for requesters. Has this ever been addressed? I would like to hide the solutions OR be able to assign solutions to individual sites and or departments.

Assigning Restrictions
Dear SDP team, We applied SDP since 4 months, currently we have 50 technicians and many of them have their own line managers the report to. Can we apply request assignment restriction? i.e. Network technician can only assign to his colleague and network manager and network manager can assign to help desk manager. WMI Logon Scripts
In the readme for the 7500 update for service desk plus they talked about having the workstations push their info to the server instead of having the server scan the network for machines. Since we have about 1400 tablet computers on campus coming on and off campus all the time its very hard to scan for these machines and get accurate results. This seemed like a good deal to me because of that but i wasnt sure how to do it. If you guys have any info on this it would be greatly appreciated thanks.

7.5 Recommendation - Recurring holidays
Something missing from the "recurring holidays" feature is a holiday that happens on a particular weekday, thanksgiving for example. An option that would allow for "repeat on the fourth thursday of November" would make this much more useful.

Scanning error
My company is currently demo-ing this product, and have liked it so far. However, I'm having problems getting the asset scanning to work. I have confirmed and re-confirmed (and re-confirmed a dozen times) that Remote DCOM is enabled on the client, and set the permissions in dcomcnfg appropriatly, and WMI is installed and enabled.
