How to Test restore to new server
I want to perform a restore of our servicedesk server to a test environment to verify the data backups work properly. Our servicedesk software connects to a remote sql server database.
Ideally I have a test servicedesk server and a test SQL server at which I can restore data on to and verify functionality without disrupting the production system. I would guess that I could reinstall the software on the new machine (same version) restore the/some of the data files in \AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk and then also restore the database to the test SQL server.
Does anyone have the correct procedure for doing this?
