Application Monitors - Exchange
Hi there, Under OpManager monitoring there is an Application Monitoring option for Exchange 5.5, do these monitors work for Exchange 2000?

WMI Monnitor
I have a WMI script that runs and gets the status of a printer connected to a server. The status code is converted from a number to a string in the WMI script. For example, if the status code = 3, then the string output is Idle. Is there a way to create a monitor that displays this string value and can send an alert if the string value = offline? Thanks

No Eventlog Monitor Icon
Hi, I'm trying to get eventloggin going, but I can't find the eventlog monitor icon on the admin page. Do I need to activate this somewhere? Can someone help? Thanks in advance! Paul
Reactive skins
Hi, So far, I feel this product is excellent despite some of the hiccups I am encountering. It can only get better over time as your team works on enhancing the software. Kudos to your team. One enhancement I can think of, is to have reactive skins, which are green when everything is ok, but turns amber and red when things break or happens.. pretty much like Big Brother, so that even if you are 10 metres away from the monitor, you can still gauge that everything is ok by simply looking at the green
Device scanning
hello.. im having trouble in detecting devices thru domain and network scanning. not all devices which present in my current network successfully detected. another thing, only 1 workstation which is the pc where i install this servicedesk got all details about the models, hardware n etc. is this normal? or do i have to key in the details manually..pls help tq.
Minor tweak to Web interface.
Please make it so when you are on a device > Password Details so that when you enter data and click <OK> it acknowledges that the passwords are updated and auto-closes that popup window. currently you have to click <Cancel> or the <X> in the upper right corner to drop this pop-up which is a small annoyance.
Asset /PO pricing wrong????
I have noticed (as a new comer to the software) that when I do a PO with multiple quantities of an item. I put the single cost price in as it is the first option then my quantities. Well the price is then registered as the list price divided by the quantity when I go to receive and then catalog the asset. It should be list price mulitplied by the quantity. Example: I create a PO for some HDD's. I list the price as $100 and I order 2 of them. My PO reflects that I have 2 at $100 each. The PO comes

notifications for update/close of ticket?
I have the notification working for the requestor and the admin. However I don't see the requestor getting any email updates when the ticket is either updated and/or closed. It would be great if as a tech I'd update the ticket and an email would be shot out to the requestor with the update. Also more importantly after the resolution is entered and when the ticket is closed. Please let me know if this can be done now or in the near future. Thanks, Chris

Extremely slow dashboard view
We have been running Netflow Analyzer for a while and we have found that sometimes the All Devices-Dashboard view is extremely slow to appear. Sometimes taking up to 5 minutes. Generating reports and all other screens appear fairly fast. This only appears to happen sometimes and it only ever affects the Dashboard screen. When this happens we check the server and the CPU utilization is never above 25 percent and there is no high traffic on our network. We have about 100 devices in our list and the

I have several questions: (1) I am not very clear on the installation process. Does the service desk client have to be on technician workstations for the technicians to use it? Or do the technicians have to log on to the Windows 2000 Server where the Service Desk Web Server will be installed? In other words is their only one client installation. PO Approval
Hi. I'm evaluating your product because it provides most of functions we require. I've got a question regarding the purchase orders. In the admin guide I can see an Approval step in the workflow but I can't seem to find an Approval function in the actual application. Busy links shows devices down
We are monitoring a couple of servers on the other side of a WAN link. When these links get busy, OpManager often reports them down and then clears the alarm at the next check. Can you set the time to wait for a response on certain devices so that we can change the ones on the other side of a link to wait longer for the response before reporting the device down. A ping can take as long as 3000 ms when the line is at 100%.
Netflow Mysql Database
Hi everybody, I am searching a way to administrate my netflow database. I need to make backup of all the flow collected and sometime to purge the old records (not the entire database). - How can I backup the mysql database ? (mysqldump can't work because we don't have the sql password) - How to clean the old flow (for example 3 month ago) - How to restore the backup to see old flow logs without erasing the actual data ? Huawei Quidway R2630E CPU and Memory Utilisation
I have a number of routers including Cisco and Huawei. For the Cisco routers, the CPU and Memory gauges work fine but I am unable to get the same information from the Huawei routers. Does anyone know how to find these values in the MIB for the Huawei.
Reports and Web Interface
Hi, just about reaching the point where I decide whether to buy OpManager or not and would just like to know if a couple things I am missing are in the works or not :) 1) From the OpManager Client I can get a nice graph of each Service, ie IMAP, SMTP etc when I click on Graphs - Response times - I can then select say, FTP, IMAP, HTTP, SMTP etc etc I can then go into detailed view and get a separate graph for each service, perfect, just what I need for reports, trouble shooting etc showing response

Is there a way to run OpManager on a 2003 server but have it log to a mysql server on another machine? I tried downing the server and editing the conf file including putting in a opmanager user and defining a password, copying the mysql/data/OpManagerDB directory to the Mysql Server and firing it up. I see OpManager connect to the database but it dies shortly afterwards. Before I slam my head into the desk too many times I figured I would ask. Thanks In Advance.

Hello, I'm a bit lost here with opmanager I have used many monitoring software but this one has me beat. It looks like the only way I can add a server is using the discovery tool which will scan all 250 machines on my network and add them to the software when I just only want to add 2 servers. Is there a place where I can just go and manually add the server name, IP address and the services I wish to monitor without going and scanning, and removing all of the extra machines. Thanks, Willy

Bug? Alarm Escalation Rules
In the Alarm Escalation Rules editor, the category have server, printer, switch, router & any. Miss matching the category provided in "Infrastructure Views" ( Servers, Routers, Firewalls, Switches,Printers, Desktops, URL) which is the default container for admin to add devices. Thus it is a bug. In general/to be consistent, the category should contain items in every view provided by OpManger. That is, it should have items listed under Infrastructure Views, Business Views, and Network Views. Especially

We are running the eval currently and I have a couple of quick questions: 1. Under Quick Configuration Wizard, I would like to catagorize more than just Desktops and Servers from that screen. snmp traps to opmanager
hello, I have a netscreen security manager product running on the same box as opmanager. I have setup for events to send an snmp alert to the local box and alerts are supposedly sent from the nsm to snmp ip. Problem is that I don't see those snmp events within opmanager - what do I have to do to receive these alerts? do I need to start snmp on the local box as well as snmp trap daemon? Naynesh
Unable to use last licensed interface
After i have registered a 20 interface license file, i am not able to assign the last interface license to a interface. I am only able to use 19 of 20 interfaces. Issues with Discovery of Routers.
When I tell Opmanager to Discover a Device. In this case a Cisco router. I tell it to discover the IP address that I am wanting to be the routers IP address that opmanager uses to manage it with and the SNMP string like always. However even though the web front end says that its discovered the fact is that it does not ever get into the database because part of the discovery process tells Opmanager to query the IP networks of all interfaces of Routers to help populate the world with those networks.
