Alarm Escalation Bug
Hello: I found one bug in Alarm Escalation Feature. We want to modify the send-to email address in all the rules of Alarm Escalation of OpManager but we are not able to. We find that eventhough it reports that new Send-to email address settings are saved in Alarm Escalation, when I check back that rule it agains shows old Send-To address. I have tried different rules, and also different Send-to email addresses, but no luck. Can you look into this? We are using latest build of OpManager on windows

Service Pack 9 installation problem
When iam installing SP-9 for Service Desk plus iam getting error after completing installation at POST INVOCATION PROCESS. Iam having Service Desk Plus 4.1 with BuildNO : 4107. In my Update Manager console iam getting the following error described in text file in which i have attached to this post. So any one can give a reply with the solution for this Service Pack 9 installation.
Chart in iReports
I'm trying to create a custom iReport that includes an area chart (e.g. CPU Usage). My series query is as follows: "SELECT s.val as Value, FROM_UNIXTIME(s.ttime/1000) as Time FROM OpManagerDB.statsdata_hourly s join OpManagerDB.polleddata p ON p.id = s.pollid WHERE p.agent LIKE 'constellation%' AND s.instance LIKE 'CPU%' ORDER BY p.agent, p.name, s.instance, s.ttime". I have tried different ways to set my category and value expressions and resolved it down to $F{Time} and $F{Value} respectively.
Add Device annoyances
Hello. Kudos to this product, I like it. :) I find when I want to manually add a machine via Add Device, I think there should be a default option to select the community and netmask (ie; for a single host I have to manually force the netmask to 255.255.255.255, and also change the community string to my custom value which for say alot of machines it could be time consuming) Is there a work around so I can speed it up? Hi It appear that the syslog prorities are not being mapped correctly See User User su: [ID 810491 auth.crit] 'su root' failed for username on /dev/pts/7 It's not even reflected in a failed login I am only seeing a level of warning being classified The are no errors, success, failure being classified How do I fix?

When I setup OpManager 5.5 in Windows 2000 Server, there is something wrong in clinet that "Infrastructrue View" in tree panel can't display. By the way, whether the Windows 2000 Advanced Server exists the same problem or not? thanks 8)
Hardware scanning other than PC's, etc
Is it possible to scan hardware other than the PC, eg IP phones, switches, routers. Since this is also a part of inventory will this be on your road map for this product. We will be obtaining your servicedesk software in the next couple days and the major issuse that we are having is that we have many locations with multiple technicans. So basically when we are creating a ticket we see technicians from all over the country. Basically if we can group technicians under the location it will really help
Request requiring multiple technicians & forwarded reque
What is the best way to handle a request that requires the attention of multiple technicians? For example, I receive requests for new employee setups, which require one tech to setup the phone, one tech to create user accounts, and one tech to actually setup the computer. Should I create three separate requests (one for each of the technicians) or do you know of a better way to address this scenario? Also, when you forward a request to someone, is there a log of it? I expected the forwarded message

After monitoring some nic's it wasn't clear to me if the graphs show me the traffic rates in kilobytes/sec or kilobits/sec. Following the rules it would be kbits/sec cause the "b" is lowercase... Thanks for your help!

Intranet Settings
Under the Intranet Settings I set both an IP range of 192.168.111.1-254 as well as added the IP addresses of servers and remote VPN users. Last night I transfered a 350MB file. FA reported this as unassigned protocal. I do see under the unassigned protocals the connection between 111.2 and 111.35. As I understand setting the Intranet settings should make FA at least report this as internal network communication. Should I redo the Intranet settings to JUST the IP range? Any tips? EventLog Analyzer - Admin password lost
I installed EventLog Analyzer on a temp machine (Windows version) last week to test it out. After a few days it seemed to have lost the log in password for admin. At the time I did not think of fussing around with it as I was going to move this over to another machine anyways. Now I had EA installed and running for the past 4 days on the new machine. Creating Drop Down Lists
When creating addition fields for the request page, is there a way to make a drop down field that is associated with the new field so you can select what to fill in? An example would be a field called Call Time in which we select whether the user called during regular work hours, weekday evenings or on the weekends. As I have it set up right now...I have to manually type in what I want.

Is anyone using the purchase order module of Service Desk? If so, are you seeing the bugs I am? Today I tried to enter quantity 2 of an item that costs $48.33. The extended amount showed $483.29! With 15% tax, the total was $555.78. This is 2 cents lower than it should be and makes me doubt that Service Desk is storing numbers correctly. SD has many other useful modules, don't get wrong, but I really thought the purchase order module was going to be the deal clincher for me but how can anyone rely

Need help with DNS Resolution and a Request
I am currently having trouble with DNS resolution. I'm trying FA for possible use in a business setting to monitor web activity, VPN, etc. I am able to pull data from our Cisco Pix but the only IP that resolves to a name is the FA server (192.168.10.7) and the "Top URL's" graph says "No Data". My DNS/WINS/DHCP/Active Directory server runs on another machine (192.168.10.5). My intranet settings are set to 192.168.10.0 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. I am considering this product for use but DNS

We would like to give the account monitoring our MSSQL server the minimal privledges it needs to monitor the SQL server DB's. Does the account have to be SA level or what are the minimal account privledges it needs?

We are actively evaluating this product and are very impressed. We havent yet looked at the newer builds which include IP Grouping. "Conversations" does not show correct technician
The "Conversations" area does not show the name of the technician that recorded the notes. It is showing the name of the Admin user on every note recorded regardless of the technician that recorded the note. We are using version 4.1.0 build 4107. Also, when you Stop the timer, perhaps this and the notes for it could be added to the "Conversations" area as well, otherwise we have to click on the History tab in order to read the Stop timer notes.
Can not monitor CPU Utilization
I have one particular server (win2k) that AppManager can not monitor the CPU Utilization. Attached is the screen capture. FYI, the system monitor is using WMI with administrator access. Other information (mem, disk and response) is okay. So, I wonder whether there is something wrong with the configuration of this particular server that prohibit AppManager from "seeing" the CPU Utilization counter. - irving
