Version upgrade
I am currently running a licensed version of 4.1.0 (build 4112). I want to upgrade to version 5. Can I uninstall my current version, reinstall version 5 then retrieve my data from backups of version 4.1.0? Or do I have to either wait for the upgrade package release or input all of my data again into the new version? Also, will I be able to apply my existing license to the new version?

In OpManager 6, monitors created as type "node" somehow get a .0 added to the end of the specified OID.

Hello, I've created two programs for notification. The first, that has all options selected without the option "when the alarm is cleared"!!! The second one should selected only the option "when the alarm is cleared", but this doesn't work. After saving the tab, this checkbox for that option is empty! Scheduled Reports in OpManager 6.0
There are two bugs that seem to been in the scheduled reporting. 1. When you create a scheduled report and do not select a business view. It will still select a business view for the TOP N Reports. I have created a business view to solve this issue. But, there are nodes that I do not wish to create a business view to create a scheduled report. 2. Thanks for the new release! There are a number of the new features that we will love. I have a question though, currently we use the java client to project our "network view" onto a wall in our office. We are able to see the network view and a list of the active alarms, will there be a way for us to do this in the new version? I would love to have a customizable page where you could pick certain things that were on it ie, a business view + active alarms. thanks, Mark

password reset
I lost the password and username for my login. I then did the following: 1. I only have a few combinations so tried these- none are working. 2. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the program. a. The program will not uninstall completely. It always leaves registry keys and folders under C:\program files\advent. b. Even when I do manually delete these and reinstall I still cannot log in with default admin admin settings for user and password. How can I get the password for now? How do we completely uninstall

Hi I want to be able to access the mysql database over the network which means i will have to edit the mysql start up script and bind an ip address to it and modify the databaseparameters.conf file so that Opmanager will be able to connect is there any other files apart from the mysql shutdown script that i will need to edit? If i also set the password in the databaseparameters.conf file is this all i need to do? Or I am going to cause a huge number of issues by doing this? I basically want to access

Fails to load screen after Clicking on Add Request
When adding a new request though the web form. after clicking on add request, it either fails to load the following screen or takes a very long time. The request gets added but the users think it doesn't because the screen does advance. Any ideas or questions?
Line plot problem on custom graphs
Hi, Just want to confirm with people a possible bug aka feature we don't want. When looking at the graphs for a monitor we can enter in a range of custom dates and it will display a area filled graph for that range. Then if you click on 'line graph' button it reverts to the original last 24 hour graph. This is a shame as the line graph option prints much better than the are filled graph.
annoying startup issue
for 2 weeks, i was trying to install opmanager v5.6 successfully but howcome i couldnt get manage to install it or i have to say to start it. -Tried in 2 Windows 2003 Standart Server machines (fully patched and registered), 2 Windows XP machines (these are IBM laptops,fully patched and registered) -The installation phase go smoothly i choose the pro edition 30day trial version... -After the installation finished the op manager wanted to start up the service-i click ok -it succesfully open the iexplorer
Monitor total up/down bandwidth
What would be the best solution to accomplish this. We have a DS3 and if we go over our limit of 20MB then we are billed extra by our ISP. My boss wants to be able to monitor this. Does this software provide this capability and if so, how can I set this up.

Hi Since it may be a while yet before mssql is supported i wanted to be able to access the mysql database from ms sql reporting services over the network. If i modify the startup script for mysql service to bind an ip address to it so that it is accessible from the network and modify the mysql-ds.xml file so that connects to the server name that is located on and not local host and finally make the additiion to user table in the mysql database so that the remote server is allowed to connect is this
OpManager will not start
Running OpManager on my Windows XP laptop. It has been running in conjunction with SD+ now for a couple of months. However a couple of days ago OpManager refused to start. It has been that way since. Disk Utilization Graph no show
Hi, I have a problem with graphs, just the one that correspond to Disk Utilization is not showing and for moments the Memory Utilizacion Graph dissapears, I don't know why, I wonder if the reason is that my device have 3 hard disks??, and if it is so, why the other graph appears and dissapears once in a while? I am having an issue with Op Manager not getting Event ID's from all of my devices that are in Op Manager. I made sure that WMI service is started and working on all of the servers including my Op Manager server. Thanks.
Other log files
Thanks for the help on the other quies today. This one is about getting log info from my linux box's. I can get the normal syslog info from it but I would like to get info from the other log files that are in /var/logs. These files are being put there by other apps on the linux box. Any help would be much appreciated.

Softflowd with Netflow Analyzer
Has anyone had experience using the Netflow sensor 'softflowd' on a Linux system http://www.mindrot.org/softflowd.html with Netflow Analyzer. I've got my Cisco routers sending Netflow v5 flows to the Netflow Analyzer and they show up fine. When sending the flows from softflowd to 'flow-tools' http://www.splintered.net/sw/flow-tools/ ; the collector picks up the data fine. However when using softflowd -v 5 -n x.x.x.x:9996 where x.x.x.x is the Netflow Analyzer, nothing shows up although a packet sniffer
LinuxMonitor working, but OpManager doesn't think so!
Hi! I've just installed the LinuxMonitor SNMP agent on a Linux box next to my desk. It's on the same subnet as the machine running OpManager and has no firewall. I can browse to the LinuxMonitor web interface on port 8040 and all looks fine, however when I try to test an SNMP monitor from OpManager, say Disk Utilization, OpManager claims "The Monitor did not respond to the test request". Hello All, I have been trying to get the MSSQL stats working in OpManager, but I haven't been able to get any of them to work. I have SNMP and the SQL Server Agent running as the instructions tell me to do, but I can't get any statistics back, With the exception of Cache Hit Ratio (which has recorded nothing but 0). My server crash
Hello, I have a problem that I don't understand. Sometime my server crashes and I must restart/start OpManager service. It seems me the problem is caused by the utlization of the java client. For example, when I use the Java client and I forget to exit it after I have used it, the client loses the connection with the server, then a popup message alerts me that I must restart the server (the server has crashed just before). Problem with service monitor
I have a W2003 server monitored with opmanager and everything goes fine except the service monitoring. Every time I try to add a monitor I obtain the following error: "Error # User credentials cannot be used for local connections". Userid and password are okay so I tried to check the request to the server and I saw that there is not any request when I try to add the monitor, so the problem seems related directly with opmanager. Disabling modules, user roles
I have no need for the Purchase Order or Contracts modules. Is there a way to remove them for the main admin user? I created a new role without access to those 2 modules, but couldn't assign the main admin user to any other role than SDAdmin... (ie. the "Assign Role" option is not there for admin #1.) Along the same lines, it would be nice if the access matrix was allowable PER USER, and not per role.
