Cannot scan Workstation with Windows Domain Scan
Dear All I'm using SD Trial Version : 5.0.0 Build Number : 5003. Installed in Server with O/S RH Linux AS Ver.3 For Domain Controller / Domain, I'm using a Server with O/S Windows 2003 Server, in this case the network firewall is not active / No Firewall. (1) In the Asset Management - Windows Domain Scan menu, When i'm trying to scan a workstation with Windows Domain Scan emerge a message error like : FAILURE :Domain scanning cannot be performed in non-windows OS. What's it solution....? Notes :
Request - Add Stop/Start Timer for tracking time spent
I am currently evaluating servicedesk plus. I'm not sure if this has already been requested, but it would be extremely helpful if there was the ability to use a Stop/Start timer for automatically adding technician time spent on a request instead of technicians having to manually add their time.
Overall Totals in Reports
Some of the default reports generate with quantities and line totals, such as "Requests Received by State by Account ". I was wondering if you have it in your plans to include an additional line at the bottom with the Overall Totals. If not, how much trouble would it be to add this feature? It's great to see the line totals, but the overall total requests in the same report would be great when generating a PDF or printing the screen. Thanks in advance. David

Hello everybody, the Netflow Analyzer is a great tool. We use it to analyze the flow export of two routers. Even though the utilization ist calculated with the correct link speed NetflowAnalyzer shows me a utilization of above 100%. Multiple Cisco PIX 7.x & Subnets Reporting
Hello, We have multiple pix's one at each location on a different network, subnetted 10.x.x.x reporting back to one ip on a different syslog port for each pix. I get the traffic for each but it shows up as one pix instead of multiple pix's even though we have a license for 5 devices. Has anyone else had this problem and is this a bug?
Extract All of the configured Alerts for each Monitor Type

Closing an On Hold Request
When you pause the timer on a job for whatever reason you cannot close the request until you start the timer again or edit the request and manually change the staus to closed. Should it do this or may I suggest this as a change.
Inconsistency with requests showing up for a user
Hi there, I will try to explain the situation as clearly as possible. We have an exchange server, and a domain (A). I have imported all the users into SD from the domain. For the sake of example a requester on SD called bob. Bob logs onto the domain A. He opens outlook, and sends an email to the helpdesk account that SD is checking. I have this error: Could not initiate monitoring Failed .The Selected OS Type is SUN but the actual OS Type is This machine is in fact a sun server - solaris 8. Appmanager can intermittently detect the server. I wonder what is wrong here. My other sun server can be detected without fail. rgds Paul
Time To Respond / Time To Resolution
Hi, Do you know how to calculate the Time To Respond (TTR) & Time To Fix (TTF)? I know where the data is stored in the schema, but how do take into consideration non-working time. i.e. Ticket logged at 4pm on FRI, and replied to at 9am on MON, and resolved at 10am will show as taking 65 hours TTR & 66 hours TTF. The helpdesk shuts at 5pm on FRI, and re-opens 8am MON, so the times should be; TTR = 2 hours TTF = 3 hours Please explain how to incorporate this logic into our SQL queries. Thanks. Keith.
Custom Monitor works in MIB-Browser but not with device
Hi, I am using a network-device to monitor the temperature in my computer-room. This device is capable of snmp-requests. So I added the device, entered the OID in my MIB-Browser and it works perfectly. I then added a custom monitor for my device, but whenever I test this monitor I get an error. I even have a mib-file for this device, but it does not help. I deleted the custom monitor and created it new quite often, but it does not work. I there any possibilty to monitor the temperature and add threshholds?

Is is possible to run a detailed report for a single workstation in the inventory module? After I have scanned my server I would like to print out a baseline report, that I could put in my server maintenance folder and refer back to later if something changes...

Netscreen NS25 and NS5GT

We have some problems using WELF reporting with Netscreen Fws, the thing is that the bandwitdh reporting somehow isnt correct, I have been having this problem with other Firewall analyzers in the past and the WELF format from Netscreen, will you support Native Netscreen Log support in a forthcoming release? I tried the native logs with a mnaual setup with a different analyzer (not a very good one) but that did show the stats correctly, I also tried to use the Welf format with the same analyzer

How can I make FWA4 show the accepted rule statistics from a Check Point log instead of just the dropped traffic? I want to do trending for a large rulebase that needs to be consolidated... Thanks -Dan
Contracts and Inventory Issues
Would it be possible to have the settings remembered on all screens when you click to show more than the default 25 records. This works on requests already and can be rather annoying. Are there plans to be able to amend/add an attachment to an existing contract as once they have been created they cannot be changed. Any plans to amend the Purchase Order system to stop items being posted as assets into the inventory. A lot of what we purchase are not classed as assets. Rgds Damian

hi, I am trying to get the contracts page up and running, but when I try to open any .PDF contract, I download it and adobe reader tells me this: Adobe Reader could not open 'upsant.pdf' because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachement and was not correctly decoded). error in requester details
I have had all my requesters enter their numbers in the "my detail" area and noticed that when they enter the landline and the mobile, when a technician looks at a request the requesters name details down the bottom list the mobile and not the landline If under "requester details" you click on the name, you get both numbers but not on the default request view Is there a way so that if they enter both numbers that the landline will show up and or both, instead of just the mobile

New Install
I just installed 4003 and can not get any reporting information live or otherwise. I followed the instructions for installation. I see the device but do not see any reports generated. I check the packet count and it is roughly 80,000 an hour.

Hello all, This is probably a really simple question but what is the difference between SourceIN and DestinationIN and the same with the OUT? Both Source and Destination (either In or Out) have the exact same total volume of data that passes through except of course with different IPs. So is SourceIN the amount of data coming into the network and DestinationIN is where it is originating from and vice versa for the OUT (where SourceOUT is the originating point of data coming out and DestinationOUT
Trouble registering AppManager
We utilize AppManager to monitor our application but have recently run into some memory issues with our application so we are using a profiler, JXInsight, to collect more detailed information. When registering a server with JXInsight monitoring the registration succeeds but it is unable to locate any of the components (EJBs, COnnection Pools, etc..). The app runs fine and the JMX console runds fine so not sure where the contention is - though assume it is some JNDI conflicy but guessing. Was just

PIX VPN
I have FA installed with logging from a Cisco Pix 6.3.4 that acts as a Remote Access VPN endpoint. I know VPN sessions have been opened and closed, and yet the VPN reports are still empty. Are there special logging commands required other than the normal informational trap settings that grab all the other statistics?
Cannot see live reports from Cisco PIX
Hi all, Im testing the Firewall analyzer, and have installed it on a windows server. When I click to see Live reports, traffic reports etc. they are all empty - and I know for sure that data has passed the PIX. Error with encoding
I have some troubles with encoding text in e-mails wich sends (by notify rules) SD. Its about russian language. Outlook 2003 decoding messages well, but express fails with encoding. Also, e-mails sent from users to SD mailbox looking right only in title field (as i understand its about formating) and fails in body. IS there any suggest how to solve this problem?
