Problems initialiazing Opmanager as a probe
I am having issues starting up opmanager as a probe on Windows 2003 and Windows XP. Basically, It freezes during "Verifying connection with Web Server" Can somebody please help me with this?
In & outbound traffic on Cisco routers
Hi, I've just installed NFA and have a question about Cisco routers: After configuring the flow commands on the router, the NFA receives the flow data. When I look at the router in NFA, it displays 2 interfaces (one for outbound traffic and 1 for inbound). When I select an IP group, I only see inbound traffic, no data is available for outbound traffic. Is this normal ?
Restricting Subnets
Hello, I recently downloaded the trial of NFA5 and set it up to recieve netflow data from our core switch (6509/sup720). I setup IP groups for all of our subnet's so that i could monitor traffic coming in/out of our remote sites. The interface names that show up on NFA do not appear to correlate to vlans/interfaces, but by monitoring individual interfaces I have been kind of able to tell which is which. I want to mainly see the traffic destined for the Internet from these sites. However there is
TCP_APP and UDP_APP with IP Groups
I collect statistics from our dual MPLS routers here at our main site. I have set up an IP group for a particular remote site using just the WAN interfaces of the two routers. This works fine and I get the utilisation, conversations and traffic types. However I am seeing a significant amount of TCP_APP type data. I cannot seem to find the port number(s) for this traffic anywhere. How can I find these port numbers so that I can add new applications to represent them. I cannot use the router interfaces

Is it possible to monitor a Netopia R910 with Firewall Analyzer? I did not see this model on the compatibilty list.
Can minimum requirements be enforced on closed tickets?
I noticed a number of tickets that have been closed without showing them having been assigned to anybody. Is it possible to require that an assignment be set when a ticket is closed? I'd like proper credit to be given to someone, which helps us to track work completed. As it stands now, I have to review the history to see who did what. Justin

Bug found in request selections spanning refresh
A technician reported some issues with tickets he had closed (spam coming in, unfiltered automated monitoring messages). So I set my selection filter to Closed Requests, was reviewing was he was complaining about and had several tickets selected for a mass deletion. My screen refreshed (it's set to 1 minute intervals) and while the check marks were still there, they were offset by 1, covering legitimate tickets now. Yikes! I almost deleted references to real tickets that were closed. I just checked

Improvement Request - Logging Time Spent entries
We have a need to log the time spent on a ticket. But there's a couple of variations: 1. Time between when the ticket is picked up and closed. This may not be realistic to track, especially if it's going to count during lunch breaks, etc. 2. Time determined by a technician to be working on the problem. We have a need to make sure that technicians don't 'after-the-fact' pad their times. I like the fact that the time entries can be put in, but it should be a cumulative log, with an appropriate log
problem with collecting data after turning server off
Hi! I am using OpManager 6.0 free edition for monitoring 2 Cisco routers and 4 3com switches. It was working fine until recently. Due to power installation maintenace in our building, we had to shut down all the servers, among them server with OpManager. After turning it on, OpManager started succsessfully, and I could access by web interface. But when I try to view traffic on any of the interfaces, router or switch, I have graphics only till the moment the server was turned off and the rest is blank.

To whom would we send requests for adding new device types into the available dropdown list? Notification Rules Enhancement Request/Suggestion
The notification rules you've provided are most everything we'd want but it occurred to me that you could build it with substantially more flexibility without much difficulty. Being unable to notify a requestor on assignment though able to notify technicians is what made me think of this. Rather than having a separate line for each notification event/notifyee, list out the major notification events and allow the admins to configure multiple notifyees that get a message on that event. One scan and done? Why?
I have been having a problem as of late with scanning computers in our company. When i initially set up the computer that is not in SD+ and do a new scan for it on the domain, it always picks it up and records everything about it. Scan New PC: still scanning using old IP address
I scanned one DHCP laptop earlier, then now it has another IP DHCP address since the location has been changed. Now I am trying to scan another laptop which happen to have same DHCP IP address which the other laptop used to be assigned. When I try to scan this new computer with hostname, it still pulls up the other laptop which currently has another IP. Merge from Service Desk Plus
We are currently using the Service Desk Plus and would like to know if we could merge our entire database over to the Support Center Plus. Can we also transfer our licenses over, and close off the Service Desk Plus? As we are computer consultants, and 99% of our work is done at the clients premises - this seems like a better option. Scheduled downtime counts against availability?
The User Guide says that Scheduled Downtime prevents alerts from firing, but it does not say that unavailability during Scheduled Donwtime is ignored. We have a weekly maintenance window where we expect to have periods of downtime as we restart application services for backups, take monthly MS patches, etc. Can you add a check box to a Donwtime Schedule to say something like, "Ignore Any Periods of Unavailability While this Schedule is Running"? I am using ELA on a Windows 2003 server to collect syslog's from our Sun and Linux boxes. Everything works. However my issue is just a display bug. For every line that is displayed, there is a random character at the end of that line. I have a router with a GRE tunnel (several actually) set up off of the f0/1 interface. Tunnel12 shows an 5 minute input rate of 0bits/sec and an output rate of over 400Kbps. However, when I look at the interface on Netflow, it shows input and output rates of around 400Kpbs. Tunnel9 has a similar issue where there is only input traffic and Netflow shows this one correctly (blue line only, no output). Any idea what could be wrong with monitoring the Tunnel12 interface?
