Network Taps
I am new evaluating the OpUtils and see that no where is there anyway to monitor or see my Network Taps. Is there a way to set up my Network Critical Taps? This will be the big show stopper for me if we cannot manage/monitor the taps. Thanks
Asset report with department name
Hello, I need to create a report of all assets but by department. The issue is that an asset is either allocated to a department, a workstation or a user. So I was planning to build a query with some "join" in order to get the - The workstation to which an asset is attached - Then the user name to which a workstation is attached - Finally, with the user name get the department name. But I cannot figure out the link between the various table. Could you please give the name of the various table I need
REPORTS SAYING NO DATA AVAILABLE
Suddenly last sunday scheduled reports say No Data Available. The data seems to be correct in every device and the Reports are scheduled until 6 months ago. What may happen ? Thanks. Miquel

Hi, I have installed NFA 5.5 to use the new NBAR feature. For testing I have enabled NBAR on two Cisco 2811 routers. The sh ip nbar protocol-discovery is working fine from the router CLI however when I try to view the NBAR report from NFA I get no data is available. Thank you Ramzi
Create a URL link under Additional Feilds Properties
Hi, Is it possible to add a URL address under additional Feild properties, so if someone is checking a server or router, we can have a url pointing them to our Wiki that would contain more detailed information, or even to the manufactures website. This would be very benifical as you are limited to the anmount of inforation that you can cram into the feilds.
blank descriptions on requests
Hi I have attached 3 screenshots of the result in 3 different browers trying to view a request...(note before the upgrade to 5500 viewing the descriptions of requests was not a problem on any browser). So Firefox works and Safari and Opera dont ??? and i use Opera now as i feel firefox is becoming like IE. Why did it work before the upgrade but not now??? and it has nothing to do with cache, this is on a new machine i installed opera 30 minutes ago.
Red Hat ES 3 - does not display all mount points
I'm struggling to get OpManager to get free disk space information from our Red Hat ES 3 Linux servers. When I try to add a Resource Monitor for free disk space (GB or MB), I can only see some mount points, but not (as luck would have it) the ones I actually want to monitor (/data). On two of the servers the mount point I want to monitor (/data) is owned by a user account other than root (but I can access it as root when I ssh to the server manually). These two servers have mirrored disks. The command
Products, Inventory and Assets
Hit a bit of a brick wall here maybe somebody can help. We are starting to use the inventory feature. Most of the equipment we have is identical so when trying to add a product for the inventory we get a duplciate name error So to combat that (which we don't want to do) is use a standard product called Stock Monitor fine so far but when we get to the asset area again we cannot have duplicate names. I also tried using dummy PO's as that can handle multiples but the the product name becomes Monitor

Since I have unlimited monitors, I've started out by adding every IP and selecting "All Services" so I get every service monitored on every host. I want to now create a master monitor group that holds every monitor so that my NOC Operators can see everything. How do I do this (take all of the monitors I've created, assign them to a single master group and then give the NOC Operators the ability to see them)? How do I edit or delete a Monitor Group? I don't even see where I can access a group to see what monitors are in it. I started to create a new group and then saw that it wanted me to create a new monitor with it which is not what I want. I have hundreds of monitors and now I want to assign them all to a single group and to specific sub-groups - without being asked/prompted to create a new monitor (they exist)! New features?
Are there any new features coming out soon that people have requested? Many of the other products your company is developing have a Product RoadMap posted in the forums. We hear "we will try to add this to a future release" alot but we never know when that future release will happen. So far 95% of the updates released for OpManager has been fixes over the last 6 months. When will new features and functions be added that people have requested? I ask this because my company uses a few of your products
Add maintenance task/request to all (or query based list)
I'd like to be able to create a task/request for all customers at one time and have it assigned to the technician that normally handles that account. For example, install an update for an application that is widely deployed to customers. It is tedious to have to create a new request for each. It would be even more ideal if the query could use criteria data from our customer database that contains information regarding their network/software.

Try to install Linux version of OpManager in console. Could not make it work. The installation guide only deals with graphics mode. I used "-console" but won't proceed at "Enabling Product Components ..." Any ideas?

Printing of PO's affected by poor rendering
I've talked with AdventNet about this issue, but this is to formalize the problem. When printing PO's, any lines of vendor items/descriptions that are too long will push the text (price, etc) on the right side of the page off the page, and cause a separate page to be printed with the missing data. Sure, you could do scaling, but then the entire PO is shrunken down. Some might claim it's a browser issue, and that's partly true, but really, it's a rendering issue with the page. It DOES NOT wrap text

Few Lines at one Diagram
Hi and thanks to all. I observe some values of similar nature. F.e. one counter - total sessions, another - active of them. I do that using "custom monitor". I think, it is better to see two lines at one diagram, as for "traffic monitor". But I find not way to do that. Can You help me ? Best regards, and sorry for my terrible English
Time Spent Blank
After the upgrade to the latest version, we just noticed that all previous tasks have their time spent wiped. They have the name of the technician with 00.00 instead of any time.
Purchase Order dont work
When I choose the option "Submit for Approval" It choose by automatic the first requester in the database, I have to change "to" to another requester. When the other requester receives the e-mail it looks like it has been sent from the first requester in the database and not from "Helpdesk" And one thing, does everyone who needs to "approve" a order to be an technicans? AD password
Hi My question is : How does the reset password work. Does it actually reset the password for AD ? I tried to use it today but it didnt work. Also just to note that if it does reset the AD password would it be possible to add the force user to change password option. Otherwise the user has to tell me what they want the password to be changed to which defeats the purpose of security. Unable to import log files from MS ISA 2000 Server
I have downloaded the FirewallAnalyzer. I installed the product in Win2K Server with SP4. I have MS ISA 200 Server acting as firewall. I have setup the ftp host to collect the log files generated by ISA. In FirewallAnalyzer, I setup the remote host (in import log file) pointing to the ftp host to retrieve the log files. I am able to login into the ftp host and able to select the directory which contains all the ISA log files. I setup the time interval to 60 minutes. The result is, FirewallAnalyzer

how can netflow stats i.e top talkers, top bandwidth utilization etc be monitored on router itself(i.e without importing to any destination server )
Device Rediscovery
Hi, The problem with the device discovery does not seem to be fixed in this latest hot fix. Still when a switch is rediscovered the display name is changed and management for all ports is enabled by default. Will a fix be available soon? Thanks Ramzi

Hi we are currently testing OpManager before purchasing the Professional Version. We are testing OpManager with a Cisco catalyst 2950 series 12G and a Cisco catalyst 3560 series 24 PoE. We tried the discovery function, and OpManager found the 2950 as a 2950 and the 3560 as a desktop. The specific OID for the 3560 wasn�t in the database, so we added it with admin\device type\add new device\ and the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.563 We deleted the 3560 and rediscovered it. Opmanager found it as a 3560 but we
Contract attachments
Apparently you cannot add attachments to contracts once the contract is created. Adding attachments is only available when creating the contract. Am I missing something?
Multi-homed Web Server / Port Change?
Hi: I'm currently testing SDP for implementation in my enterprise and would really prefer to use port 80, but have to run on a machine with an existing web server. I went ahead and multi-homed the machine assigning a new IP. Is there a way to bind the HTTP server to port 80 on the new IP in SDP? Anybody have any ideas? I would really prefer to use the default port to keep things simple for my users. Thanks! Brad
Notification e-mail from web request page?
Noob here. Anybody know how to receive outbound e-mail notifications on submissions received from the generic (anonymous) web new request page? i get a rep e-mail delivered when somebody e-mails support via our support e-mail address, but not if they enter a support request via our web page. also, the request that gets entered via our web site comes in as being from "e-mail" as its source as well. anyone know how to change this so that its source states that it is from the "web", so that we can direct
Inbound Spam
We have turned on the Spam filter on our ServiceDesk plus, but even though the spam emails are being deleted, its still creating a requester with that email address. Can that be prevented as well?
BUG: Simultaneous PO submissions causes numbering problems
When two people are working on a PO at the same time, there is an issue with the same number being assigned to the different people. It ends up being a problem with a vendor selection and other areas. Weird errors appear. What needs to be done is that when a PO process is started, some way of handing out numbers needs to be managed. Given that HTML is stateless, someone getting/using a number for some time as they look up vendor items and someone else coming in and getting the same number is not

"You can also click on the shades (representing the different severity) in the graph that will display the alerts based on the severity". This doesn't seem to do anything when you click. Is that a bug? Also, in the Alert Summary screen, is there anyway to change the message section so that it shows the actual alert (e.g. CPU>90%) rather than just "Health is critical"? I realise it shows this in the tooltip, but we run this on a large monitor and it would be great to be able to just look up at it
New Monitor Adding Problem
I been install SNMP inside my server which running windows 2000 and 2003, i also insert correctly community name and host ip which accept SNMP packet as well. FA stops report again~
this happens often when the same version running at a PC, the first time yesterday after running at a DELL 2850 4Gram server.
