Bar code functionality
How is the Bar Code field designed to be used? We would like to be able to have a bar code on all our equipment and associate it to an asset. Another thing we would like to do is perform a physical inventory of all equipment with a data collection device and upload it into the data base and/or compare it with what is in the data base for any changes/additions. Also can we print the bar code labels from the system or do we need to purchase/make our own labels to enter into the system. I think we would

Is there a way to provide the requesters a phonelist of the imported active directory users ? All data is in the database, so why not use it

I am new to OP Manager and have tried to configure it on all my servers. SNMP is enabled on all my servers but I do not receive my dials nor do I receive the sys Disc. What may I be doing incorrectly? Thank You, Gary

Hi there, In the MSP version of OPManager is there a way to do SMS alerting via a web based provider ?. For example, www.bulksms.co.uk allow http submissionthat results in an SMS message. See: http://www.bulksms.co.uk/docs/eapi/submission/send_sms/ We use a small product called IPcheck from Paessler which supports this functionality, is it supported under OpManager ?. Cisco 3750 configuration
I have installed OpManager trial to see if it will fit our needs. I have discovered devices on the network and a lot of them seem ok, but my 3750 does not show any port information as other switches do. I have set a smtp public RO, is there anything else that I need to do? The 3750 is in a stack of two, is this a problem? Thanks in advance for your help. Sebastian
Change "title" to "subject"
Is there anyway for me to change the "Title" heading to "Subject" on the request form? Our employees are are experiencing some confusion about what is meant by "title" and some of them are listing their job title (which does us no good) instead of a subject line for the request. If there is something that can be easily modified in the database, please let me know ASAP. AD overwriting moible phone numbers changes
When importing accounts from AD SD+ also imports the Mobile phone numbers from AD witch is what we want. But if a requester changes there number the change will be overwritten next time AD is imported. Is there away to stop AD overwriting such changes or for SD+ to update AD?
Traffic showing zero data from PIX 520
I have just installed FA 4020 Demo version and are using it to analyze my PIX. I get protocol data, but not any amount. All data, IN and OUT are zero! If I look at web or mail usage reports it shows sorted by what looks like amount of data, but there is only zeros everywhere. Asset Allocation History
Hi Guys Firstly great product - looking forward to version 5 upgrade release. Just wondering if anyone else would like to be able to build up an asset allocation history record, for example if I allocate an asset to a user I would like to record the start date and end date that user is allocated the asset and then continue doing this through the asset life, its useful for audit purposes to record who has had which asset when. What do you think?
SNMP Question
I am new to this program and I have two ewbie questions. I have set up about 6 servers in Opmanage, they all have the same community string, but one server will not show the dials or pull SNMP data. I also have a server that is pulling SNMP data but i do not get a sys descr. but when i test the Monitors they are working. please help any advice would be helpful
Scheduled report question
I have a scheduled the All Server Disk Usage report to run every night at 2AM and have it sent to my inbox. I would like the report to be sorted by server name as it is when the report is ran from the reports tab. When it is scheduled, the report has no sort order and it makes it troublesome lookup the disk usage on a particular system. What will need to be done to have the scheduled report sort by server name?

Need Alternate User Authentication
The feature "Keep me signed in" will not work as a solution on my network. I had been synchronizing with Active Directory (worked well) until my organization mandated smartcard logon. Now users cannot be authenticated by AD because they no longer use a user ID and password to log onto the network, they use their smartcard and PIN. SD needs to provide a pass-thru authentication or some other means of logging into SD with their smartcard credentials as soon as possible. My users have cannot log into
Active Directory Synchronization
I used active directory to populate the requesters so passwords will be updated from AD. It also populated the departments and they are not the department names I want used in this software. 1) How do I clear all department names from the list without doing them one at a time? 2) How do I prevent AD from trying to populate that info again?

Stop logins expiring - administrator cant log in!
We have been using SD+ for a little while now and it would appear as if our administrator login has expired. How do we stop logins from expiring as this has obviously caused us a huge problem if the administrator cant log on to the helpdesk

I want to run SDP though HTTPS only. I know I can set the HTTPS port using the changeWebServerPort batch file, but is there a way to disable the HTTP port as well? I want HTTPS to be my only option. Thanks.

Hi, i installed the Citrix MIB in the AppManager but the AppManager couldn't disciver that these servers are citrix servers, it only discovered that they are windows/SNMP/web servers, is this behavior normal or the AppManager should identify them as citrix servers. Regards, Bassem
Update Supportcenter 5021 to 5032 failed
Hi, we tried to update our SupportCenter 5021 Installation to build 5032. After doing a backup, we started the Updatemanager and tried to update our installation. The update fails and a rollback was initialized and succesfully finished. After restarting the server, we can see error 100 in the EventLog: Can't open and lock time zone table: Table 'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without them! We tried several things but nothing helps. We didn't get access to supportcenter.

Need help clearing Disk Utilization
Hello all, I need some assistance clearing Disk Utilization stats. I had originally created a threshold for Disk Utilization by MB, but realized that it didn't account for free space which is what I wanted the threshold to trigger the alerts for. I removed the threshold then came to realize that i couldn't go back and clear the configuration for the alerts. NFA Server Issues - JAV Appears Hung

Hi there, I have bought and installed the latest version of OpsManager and we are experiencing problems with SNMP + the resource monitors. Basically, I am using net-snmp on linux hosts and opsmanager sometimes shows a dial for cpu/memory/disk usage and others times it doesn't. This happens completely randomly and makes fault finding rather difficult. One host might have all the dials working while another only has one dial working. Hi there, It appears that when you create an additional "Operator" user in EventLog Analyzer, they can still access the Database Console feature even though it's meant to be disabled to all except an Admin. See pic attached. Also I'd argue that an Operator should not be able to change mail server settings, yet they can do so - is that meant to be? Regards, Lee

monitoring embedded tomcat in jboss 3.2.6
we are running jboss 3.2.6 with embedded tomcat 5.5. I have been unable to successfully plug the tomcat monitor into the embedded tomcat running in jboss. I have reviewed the forums and added the servlet mapping to the web.xml file. however I continue to get the error "Error while parsing xml data from Tomcat Server". The confusion is related to manager, as there is no tomcat-users.xml to add the manager role, more so I don't believe manager comes in the jboss\tomcat package. Please advise :-) Thanks,
Wake On LAN by Broadcast first?
Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to change the order that OpUtils 4 performs the WOL (or at least make it an option). Currently when I select a PC to perform WOL, I believe it sends a directed WOL packet first, which does not wake our PCs up, but when it's status becomes "attempting to power upby Broadcast" the PC will power on. (FYI I believe the "upby" may be a typo instead of "up by", but that's what it says). So instead of having to wait 2 minutes before it sends a broadcast WOL

Application and Conversation Data not matching
Hi, WHen i generate IP accounting for an interface in the application Tab it gives 27GB data mapped to HTTP , where as once i click HTTP to get the Top talkers using HTTP applicaiton it gave data for 400MB only. It is happening for all the interfaces what i have added. Seems this is Bug and need your help. Because we cannot find the machine which uses that much huge data. Hassan
