Single Sign on
Hi all, very new to Opmanger. We have a local intranet site that people login with their Domain credentials to access various tools. I want to put a link to the helpdesk and not have the users to enter their login again. (apparently this is a problem for my user community) Anyone do something similiar? I'd still like to keep the main page for the technicians to login. Any help or ideas would be appreciated TIA Nelly
How I can hide Category for clients

Workstation location fields
When adding a new workstation (and in a workstation details) under General Info there is a Location field. why is this not a pick list of the Locations added in admin> Locations? Is this to be used in a different way? We are using build 5502 has this been change in the new fix?
Problem starting SD+ after hotfix
After running sp20 to upgrade to build 5507 SD+ will not restart I upgraded from build 5502. After clicking the ServiceDesk server Icon the cmd widow opens but SD will not run. Can anyone help?
Mailing list to inform of new versions?
Hello, Just a suggestion: it would be great if there was a mailing list that users could join that would notify us of new versions (patches etc). My company pays a fee for annual support but we still have to check the website and these forums to check if there are new versions out. Thanks Gavin
Graphing tcpRetransSegs
Hi, I'm trying to graph tcpRetransSegs (.1.3.6.1.2.1.6.12.0): - I don't want a graph of the absolute value, since this will always increase. - I don't want it expressed in terms of retransmits-per-second (I think this is what I get when I say .1.3.6.1.2.1.6.12.0/$DELTA_TIME) What I want is to know "the absolute number of tcpRetransSegs in between the current poll and the last one". Monitoring a running applications CPU and/or Memory Util
I will search & re-read the user guide too, but am looking for a fast answer. I am monitoring a service, but rather than monitor response time, I need to monitor the CPU utilization for the application/process that sits behind that service. When it hits 50% or higher usage or a memory utilization threshold I need to send an alert and restart the service. How can I set this up? I've been digging through the OpManager settings, but perhaps I'm not focusing in the right area? Thanks!
Destination AS
Hi, Is their a way to identify the destination AS which you are sending traffic too with NFA? I'm not on about the traffic that you see going to your AS neighborships from the dashboard, but the overall traffic travelling to the final AS. This would enable you to decide which AS's to peer with better, and also help with the process of deciding which IX's to be present at. Thanks, S
Major Bug
for a while now almost every machine on my network have been getting blue screens of death every monday at 1:30pm. I have just realised (after many many man hours of investigation) that this is caused by the helpdesk. I had set the audit settings to run a weekly scan on mondays at 1:30pm. I have only found out as I have just manually prompted a scan of my network and all the PC's crashed! I have disabled the scans (obviously!) but wondered if anyone else was having similar problems? Shutdown OpManager via ssh connection
How do you shutdown OpManager server if you are ssh into the server? If you run the ./ShutDownOpManager.sh, a graphics box prompts for username and password. My ssh connection fails because the graphics box cannot be generated. Is there a username and password parameter that can be passed to ./ShutDownOpManager.sh to shutdown down the server?

How to trap Brightstor Arc Server Backup r11.5
Any body know how to monitor traps from Brightstor Arcserver Backup r11.5, I add an SNMP alert in Brightstor. If I review the alert log activity, appear and SNMP TRAP send to de opManager server IP But if I review de alert -> Unsolicited Traps in opManager, the BrightStor Aler dosen`t appear. Any solution?? Oputils Rogue Detection
Hello, I am currently evaluating the oputils software and have a couple of questions on the rogue detection. On my basline list I have come up with several hundred devices that are reporting as having a MAC address but are not showing a corresponding IP address. Any thoughts on this as the devices are going to be almost impossible to track down without some more info. Additionally, any chance that in future versions you could add a field to the rogue detection list that would allow a person to enter
Migrate to 5007
After migration to 5007 last night SD+ no longer loads properly. I've changed the Server Startup files as detailed on the note but it's not starting up. I've rebooted the server as well and still nothing. Anyone any ideas what to look at?
Defining Field content in an email request
At the moment when an email is sent in the following happens: 1. subject line becomes the title 2. text in the body becomes the description Is there any way of defining a field and content for that field so when the email is received business rules can allocate the request to a queue?
Port descriptions on cisco switches
Hi, Is there any way to get the description field for the port in opmanager to actually display the name given on the switch ( we set this to the actual outlet name so we can map outlet to port ). At the moment they are just coming up 'fastethernet 0/1' etc.. thanks.
Contracts - workstations and assets
Hi, Looking at the contracts section, I note that I can add an asset to the contract but not a workstation. Therefore when I have my workstations already on the system I have to copy them as assets so that they can be added to a contract. Is there any way of adding a computer to a contract?

Hi, I have installed the demo of NetFlow and on the interfaces I am monitoring it will only show either Inbound or Outbound traffic. Is this because it is the demo version or do I need to configure something?

How to monitor Cisco Pix failover with dedicatet LANFailover
I have the following problem... ..in Opmanger i can monitor two of four interfaces (inside,outside) on my primary Pix. The standby Pix has the same Interfaces (four) and i can monitor the inside and outside Interfaces. But now is coming the problem. Why can i not see the third Interface that is dedicated for Lan-Failover and the fourth Interface is administrative shutdown. Dear Support-Team, i am a newbie in SNMP but i read a lot of Cisco guides and now i have an running OpManager=>Cisco Pix and Router Monitoring-Environment. Send Notification Failed
We have a strange problem sending mail to other domains, our standard domain is fine, but when we send to other domains (which are all within the same exchange environment) we get a send notification failed. This started after an upgrade to 5005 on the 10th Oct. The sending to other domains worked fine until this time. Any ideas? Sending within Outlook using the same user data is fine, no problems. Has anything changed on the sending side in this release? Can we role back?
SLA not working
I need help, and its very crucial it gets fixed. Things keep slipping the system. I have 3 SLA settings, Low Med High Each one to go off and look at the priority level, low med high. after the selected time in each sla, it doesnt escalate! its turned on and enabled, and i also put one in called test with 2 mins and notify after 3. NOTHING! please help. also, we have it set so if the requester choose Inside US or Outside it gets assigned to the correct person. is this affecting it!?

We would like to see the inclusion of category visibility control in future releases of ServiceDesk+, i.e. the ability to hide categories from requesters but make them visible to technicians. We like to make to the act of making a request as easy as possible for users, this means simple understandable categories, however this does not provide our technicians with the level of granularity they require in categorising their workload. Importing or discovering devices
Hi We manage a large network of about 1600 Cisco routers and switches. I have been evaluating Device Expert and i would like to know how i can import or discover 1600 devices. Ive looked at the help for the import option but unfortunately we do not have the details of the IOS version and model number of all our devices. We basically just have a hosts file with the hostname and IP address of 1600 devices. This is why we are looking at Device Expert so that we can keep an inventory of our devices.

URL monitor not updating URL changes on alerts
The changes made to the URL which is being monitored by URL monitor is not being reflected on the Alert being sent via email. I have had to delete the entire monitor and recreate the same monitor with the changed URL to make the change get affected onto the email action. I do have custom content on the email action, which is appended to the template set by Application Manager.
