Error when trying to add W2k3 Domain Controllers
I am trying to add 2 new W2k3 domain controllers to OpManager since I have upgraded to 6014. It tells me that it has added the device successfully but it never appears. If I try to re-add it, I get the following message: Entries for the device are either partially added or removed. Click [here...] to remove and readd the device. However, when I click above it still does not add it correctly. I was able to add 5 W2k3 member servers without any problem, it only seems to be Domain Controllers. Thanks
ICMP not available - device listed as unavailable
We are currently evaluating OpManager and it is working well. We do have a few servers that are not reachable via ICMP and so they are listed as down when they are not. SNMP is working and the dial are showing CPU, memory, etc. correcly, but the availability is zero. Is there a way to change the way availability is determined for particular devices? Thanks, Rob.
EMC CX700 Wrong Information
Hello everyone, I've been trying out OpStor for my company for the past few days; we have a couple of CX700 and last Saturday we had to replace a faulty disk in one of the arrays, today while checking OpStor I saw that the disk replacement had affected my weekly uptime by 5% (3h45m). I'm not sure if this is supposed to work like this or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this might influence my manager to purchase the software or not.

Hallo, I just recently started using OpUtils to monitor my network, and im trying to use the email notifications, but i cant seem to make it work, im using this smtp server: smtp.crazymofo.com.mx, but it needs authentication and im using my email address as the "from" mail and my password to connect to the smtp server, but still i cant seem to make it work it says this: "E6002: Unable to send mail.", can anyone help me please i really need to make this work. Hi Appmanager support team Yesterday, I downloaded it and installed Appmanger on my PC(WindowsXP-Pro) to test its features. But when I tried launching the program at the first time, it responded me an error: "error code 485:Invalid License File Please contact AdventNet, Inc." . Create a second instance of Support Centre
Hi All, We are using Suppot Centre for customer support but would now like to use it for internal IT support as well. Can we run a second instance of support centre on a different port and have the 2 centres totally segregated from each other? For that matter could we run SupportDesk alongside SupportCentre on the same box? Is there away to have custome reports for non SDAdmin accounts so that they can run the reports. We have a non SDADmin account that needs to run reports so is there a way we can do this without giving them SDAdmin rights?
Features in OpUtils IP Address Manager
Hi, To have a complete IP address manager I would really need to have fields to name my IP subnets and nice to have would be if I could have a vlan field as well for the subnets. In the subnets I need to be able to reserve an address, preferable with a checkbox or a dropline or something other else easy and visible way. Also a comment field is needed for both used, reserved and unused addresses. Is this something that could be added? With those extra feaures I would not need Solarwinds IP manager.
Client generated reports
Is it possible for the client (with the "can view all requests from my account" right) to generate their own reports for their account? Thanks, John
Syslog messages truncated
Hello, Is it normal for Syslog messages to be truncated? I thought at first the problem was on the Syslog device itself, however after viewing the raw log files located under C:\AdventNet\ME\EventLog\archive the syslog messages look good. When viewing the same log from within EventLog Analyzer, anything under the Message column seems to be cut off after 250 characters or so. How can we fix this display issue? Thanks
Regarding dashboard & Reports
hi, in the dashboard , the messages are classified as "error" "warning" "failure" and "others". can u explain, the basis on which this is calssified. in unix (AIX) login failures get reported as auth.info, so these go into others and they never come up in the compliance reports of login failures. can u plz explain, how do i get these to appear in the reports. have some more question. will post them later, but would be nice if u cud help me with this. cheers yash

Editing Inventory
Hi I am running the inventory and it is excellent, but we would like to get one more thing back from the computers. When we import them into our NDS (we use Novell) we use the environment variable to decide which container to put them in. Would it be possible to edit the inventory to bring this detail back as well? EG: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Environment] "classroom"="f38" Thanks Charlie

Does Firewall Analyzer support either any Netgear firewall or a Watchguard 700 or Watchguard 2 ? I'm asking because I am trying to create a solution to monitor our bandwidth usage. I need to be able to export the output from the scanned software page in the inventory module. The custom reports does not seem to have a way for me to do it either. Any ideas?

Good Day, I am looking at adding two new Custom Monitors. OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.476.1.42.3.4.2.2.3.1.3.1 OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.476.1.42.3.4.1.3.3.1.3.1 I have added them and when I test them they come up failed and with a .0 added to the OID. The OID's are working correctly in Cacti. What could be the problem? Thanks.
Report inaccurate in filtering
Hello, I have tried to track the bandwidth usage of a customer that uploads files to us via FTP. We know the customer uses the same IP every time, so i create a new report with the IP included in the filter and protocol FTP. When the report runs it looks like any other general report, I see traffic reports for all systems across the network. Is there a way to only get traffic data pertaining to this specified user? thanks
Can't get Opmanager to issue SNMP alarms
I configurted Opmanager to listen to a server for any snmp traps coming from it. But I can see the trap being generated from the server but I do not see any alarms or email notifications once the trap is generated from server device. I've configured email profile and attached to the server device. I've loaded MIBS, configured trap processors etc. Can someone help me out here ? Also how do I add a device to watch on Opmanager ? Creating Computer Account
I know about Delegating Permissions to Add a Computer to the domain. However I was wondering if there is a feature to create a computer account in the domain? I presure when you delegate permissions it just allows that person to add a PC to the domain, I wanted to create the PC account first before it was added. Please help! :D
block catagories from end users
Does anyone know how I can block some catagories from our end users but view them as a tech. We are getting ready to roll out the user side and allow them to enter tickets but I don't want any confusion on their end. :D
V9 flows of unknown template are received from...
I have enabled NetFlow V9 in an attempt to see if it fixes any of the issues with NAT being in the equation. However I now see the error message 'V9 flows of unknown template are received from..' displayed at the top of the main page. I can manually clear this but it obviously keeps returning. Canada DST Changes impact in Applications Manager
Due to the recent DST ( Daylight Savings Time ) changes in canada, for Java 1.5 version - JREs older than update 9 has to be updated. The latest version of Applications Manager uses JRE 1.5 update 6. When we do our import from AD for importing our users, It is not finding all of the OU's the users are in. We have over 100 OU's. Is there a limit on how many it will display for importing?
SD 6.0 MySQL Data to MS SQL
Urgent! Have upgraded to 6.0 no problems. Changed database to MS SQL no problems. Logged in, no data! Reset to blank. No problems. Restored data, from before upgrade and there is no data still! Change database back to MySQL and the data is all there. How do I get data into MS SQL so I can switch database servers? Cheers Damien
Unable to log out and No categories as well
We just recently updated from 5.5 to SD 6.0 and noticed that there are no categories to select. Even though we have categories setup the requester can not see them or select any. I also noticed that after the upgrade the log out button is not longer function. You just keep click on it but noting happens and to log out you have to click on X button.
Updating mandatory fields doesn't update current requests
I've taken off all the mandatory fields to try and get some more reliablilty and stop all the errors but all the current requests are still asking for these fields when trying to close them. The actual issues is that none of the editing buttons work sometimes when trying to update and close requests

What are the specific default ports that should be open for a server for to be monitored by OPManager? Is it possible to also check the availability of a server via SNMP only, meaning we will not be able to ping the server? Thanks

Insufficient Column Width in Report
Hi, I used the advanced search to create various criteria and then save it as a Report Profile which give me the a nice PDF file, but when I look at it, here are the things which I do not know how to improve: 1. The most important information like the IP addresses are missing the last two digits as the column width is insufficient, is there any way to predefine the width of each column in a pdf report?? Surprisingly, the report is sound when the report is viewed on the screen not within the PDF.

Script to backup database? Shutdown service, backup, start
I have looked around the forum and haven't found a good answer on how to run an automated backup. I know that the backupdb.bat works, but it needs to have the opmanagerserver shutdown. I've tried to schedule the shutdown but it requires user interaction. anybody have a better solution? Thanks, Mark
