i am trying to monitor my live servers but i am unable to communicate with those. we have five server i installed it on one live server and try to conect other server but it fails some time says ping fail but ping work i think there is some firewall issue help me out with this and tell me the port which need to be open on server so that i can communicate with my live server. Hi My work is currently using the trial version of servicedesk plus 7 and have been extremely happy with it. I just wanted to clarify how the licensing works for this software. We are looking at the enterprise version for 5 techs and 250 nodes US$2995 From what i have gathered this is an annual subscription. Is it the same amount every year or does it get cheaper after the initial subscription? I was also told about perpetual licensing which i was told is the 2.5 X annual subscription fee and then

Hi, I was wondering if it possible to add a fraction of a whole number in a quantity under purchases? Reason I ask is that certain products can be It services which are billed on a time basis, so for example of I have a price of 30 dollars and hour, and the tech worked 2.5 hours i would like this to be calculated in purchases. Now when I add 1.5 or some fraction of a number, it stops me, and ask for a correct value. Thanks

Hey guys, I remember in older versions, that when sending an e-mail to someone, when I started typing in the name, it would do an auto lookup or autofill. Did we lose that functionality in version 7, or is there something we need to do? Thanks Paul
V7 Categories not in alphabetical order
I saw some reference to this on an older version of Service Desk, and a patch fixing it. It looks like when you create a new request in SD+7, the categories are not sorted - is this a known issue?
Importing non-IT assets from CSV does not work
Hi, We have been testing the importing function in version 7 and it looks like non-it assets can not be impotet from csv files. What happens is SD+ does not recognize this format and therefor does not allow you to match tables. I did also try to edit my csv file and replace ; with , (comma) and then SD+ did allow me to match tables but when getting to step 3 I only get a error message that does not really tell me anything. I also noticed the extra tables I had created in Asset (asset additional feelds)
huge log files in apache folder
Hello, i have three huge log files in the apache folder named: access_log 1,7GB ssl_request_log 1,8 GB error_log 3,8GB the are stored in the following folder: C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\Central\apache\logs can i delete them or on any other way shrink them to a normal size. regards Sjoerd

Upgrading to version 7 from 5
Hello, We are going to move to SD+ version 7 in the near future. We would like to install version 7 onto a new server as well. What would be the best process for this upgrade? Would it be best to install version 7 on the new server, then just restore the backups from version 5 to version 7? would this work? if not could you please provide details on the best way to migrate to a new server with version 7. thanks!
HELP! hotfix 6000 broke our service desk
Hello, Trying to upgrade from version 5507 to 6000. Install went fine, but now server wont start, it just sits on Application Layer Started then a bunch of ..................... go across the splash screen. Im trying to ininstall the hotfix now but the same thing is happening, the server wont start, in our event viewer this error is being logged: "Can't open and lock time zone table: Table 'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without them" Please help no one can access SD+ at
Migrating to a new server
I have moved SD+ to another server and so far all seems to be working with the exception of links from within reports. When an inventory report is run and the workstation link is used, it refers to the previous server. I have modified the Alias entry in the self-service portal settings in the admin tab but this has no affect on existing reports (new reports correctly reference the new server). What do I need to do to fix the problem with older reports. We are using build 6011. Thanks Paul

I see there is a Linux probe for Opmanager v7 but is there a Windows probe? I thought I remembered having the option a few months back when I was testing v6. As a general rule, we don't install SNMP on our servers and not everything is getting discovered with WMI alone! Thanks. Alan

Ok, im trying to move opmanager from a lab computer to a real server and im not able to do it, here's what im doin: labpc: run the backupdb.bat script Result: the backup runs just fine. serverpc: install opmanager apply the patch to version 7004 (same as labpc) apply licence run restoredb.bat script result: NOTHING!! Hi, At the moment we use Kaseya for our MSP solutions, which involve an agent on every pc/server/laptop, which was great for helping mobile workers. My question is how can this be done with opmanger? Also with Kaseya we were able to give a link for remote support using vnc on an ad hock basis. How can I do this with opmanager? Hi, I have some devices (i.e Firewalls) that use several unbound ethernet connections into our core switch. When I try to add these into the OP Manager business view I get the alert "these devices are already linked" How can I monitor each connection link? 2 of 6 Domain Controller monitors not working.
Hi, I have 6 DomainControllers which all are part of the same Domain and as far as I can tell, they are all setup in the same way. However, the AD monitor on 2 of the servers won't work, They show N/A on most of the data. Hello, I have a Juniper SSG 520 logging to the firewall-analyzer 4 via Webtrends. Everything works fine exept the following: - I have declared some subnets as LAN as suggested. I have very nice graphs at the "Live Reports"-site, but I don�t know, what traffic I get displayed. Cisco Temperature Performance Monitors
I have multiple 6500 Cisco switches. I added the Temperature monitor in the Admin -> Device Templates. Once the monitor was added, all the temperature monitors specific to the switch was added. How do I modify each individual Threshold temperature, such as VTT 1 outlet, EARL Outlet, asic-1, etc., so that it is reflected in all the switches of the same type?

Database restore over a newer version
Hi, I tried to restored a database from PMP version build 4603 to a fresh install PMP version build 4701. After that, each time I tried to run the PMP I got "Error Occured" before I could even type my credentials. The only way I've been able to use the same database is that I had to upgrade my build 4603 to 4701 using the process in the Upgrade section of the website, then make a Backup of the DB and then restore the DB on the other server. Now my question. If i run a PMP version without upgrading
All Servers Disk Report Problem.
Since early in version 6 there has been an issue with the All Servers Disk Report. It shows all the drives but does not show them in any particular order when the report is emailed. This makes it extremely difficult to read the report. I was told this problem would be fixed in a hotfix for v. 6 but it hasn't, nor has it been corrected with the release of 7. Wanted to make you aware of it again. David.
