Cannot telnet to Netflow port
I've installed the NetFlow Analyzer and configured the router to export netflow traffic. But i don't see any interface in the NFA dashboard, then we try to telnet from the router to NFA using the 9996 (as configured in NFA) but fail, and then I try telnet from the NFA itself but also fail. I've disabled the Windows Firewall (running on WinXP Pro) on the NFA, but still don't work, I can access the NFA web interface via another computer (port 8080). Why i can telnet to the netflow port? is it normal?
Monitoring Overheads
I was just wondering what is the overheads of using opManager to monitor switches and servers? Someone told me that to monitor the amount of traffic over a port on a switch it almost doubles the amount of traffic required. is that true? or does it just get a reading of the amount of traffic that is crossing the port at that time? Also what strain would be placed on the systems if i was to increase the monitoring from 15 minutes to say 5, would this give me a more accurate reading of the amount of
Top Urgent
I was working in Admin then the system hanged (Every time hanged when I work in Admin), so I tried to stop and start the service but it did not start. Then I run reinitializeDB.bat and restart the server. Finaly the service started but I lost all data Please help ?

Importing devices into OpManager
Hi there, Does anyone know of a way to import devices and their details into opmanager without having to do a discovery or manual adding? It would be nice to be able to import from csv or something so that devices can be automatically categorised and configured without having to do lots of post configuration once devices are discovered or added. Any ideas? Is there one particular SQL table that can be modified or are there several joins that need to be populated? Cheers! Ben
Problems adding devices/Devices partially added or removed
Hi there, Im having issues with devices that are partially added or removed and I cant seem to fix the issue. I have run the sql queries to remove any old entries but it still doesnt work. I've also tried running the delete wizard but the device is not found. Any ideas? Have there been any updates to the delete scripts lately that i am missing? Thanks heaps, Ben

in/out traffic
question about in/out traffic... i put ip route-cache flow on the vlan interface...that vlan interface has incoming and outgoing traffic...why does the netflow analyzer put traffic only on the in traffic?...does the NFA know the different b/w in and out traffic? thanks

Additional field sorting and editing
Have the ability to arrange the order of items in an additional field pick list. At the moment you have to have them show in the order that you add them. You also cannot edit the items you have added into the list, and if you have a large number of requests assigned to a certain item you cannot easily change it.
timezone changing
Greets, I've installed and import backup into 'new' SC+(build 6009). After that i've stopped service. And tryed to change timezone on the server(debian linux). When i've tryed to start SC+ after timezone changing i'm getting error 527 How can i change timezone on the server? Thanks, dreik

DB2 on Windows Database Health
hi, I have a Db2 on Windows database and have a monitor setup. All looks normal except the database information health indicator and the table space status health indicators. They are grey - never green, never red. Not sure where I have gone wrong! Any help appreciated. thanks, Lerwick

Hi Guys, I wanna know why the Reply Button is not available for the clients?. Is very dificult for the client look for the "Add a note", they never know how can they respond for a request from the web console and they always have to call us. Is this option considered in the Roadmap?, this is very important. Thanks
Using Password Manager Pro over VPN
Hi, I am unable to login to the Password Manager over our VPN connection. I have automatic authentication with AD set on and it works fine over the internal network. But it won't work over a VPN connection. When I access the site over the VPN, I am invited to log in to view our passwords but when I type in my login details it does not let me log in. This fault appears in IE and Firefox. Does anyone have any ideas? Regards, JC

After the upgrade from 6 to 7 it's not possible to delete the options Routers Servers Switches Desktops When i install OP7 as a new installation, i can do it. Please advice
TCP_App shown for FTP traffic
We have some passive ftp transfers and they are being resolved as TCP_App, we believe that this is due to the port not being shown as 20. Is this happening at the netflow analyzer end or the information received from the router? Regards Mark
NFA and temp files on /tmp

install on Debian Etch
so, followed the install steps - same as guide here: www.debianadmin.com/monitoring-serversnetwork-devices-with-opmanager.html to install on Debian Etch. Install went off fine, but running StartOpmanagerServer .sh I got an issue with setEnv .sh not being found. I changed the path in StartOpmanagerServer .sh to point to setEnv .sh directly, and now the server start ... sort of. It takes about 15 minutes of just sitting there to kick off MySQL, then "inside addon check" appears, then nothing..... any
AppManager8 - URL Sequence and Cookies
The application I am working with requires a cookie and various other parameters be set. I have tried to use the URL Sequence recorder but it apparently does not capture the cookie. When the monitor runs with the recorded sequence, no cookie is sent to the server. I am using WireShark to capture network traffic between the server being monitored and the server running AppManager. During the capture process, the following line can be seen in the POST to the server: Cookie: cParam1=somevalue cParam2=somevalue
AppManager8 Directory Monitor
hi, Is there anyway to monitor a directory when a file gets added to a usually empty directory? I tried using a directory monitor with Critical Alert when the directory size changes > 0 but I don't get any alert. Monitoring by size won't work as that starts at 1MB.... thanks, Lerwick
Problem with AD Scan
I'm stating using ServiceDesk Plus these week and I'm using version 7 build 7004, but my Domain Scan doesn''t work. For exemple: I selected only one OU that have 7 workstations. Than scan shows successul for all 7 and no error on log. When I go to store, I can see only 5 workstations. Any idea ?? Tks in advance.

What is the difference in Audit Settings of setting up a Scheduled Scan and enabling the Check for Newly Added Workstations settings? Also, what's the performance hit on a network and the target machine?
Strange Problem
I have found a bit of a weird bug with the system -- I just upgraded to 7003 (windows), but I'm not sure if it's just an issue with this build or not, as we just noticed the problem. It happens when you create a solution, and you copy a bunch of text in (in this case we were copying some SQL code). Then you add a picture (in this case a screenshot saved as a bmp I believe). Everything looks fine until you save it. Then, sprinkled through the text you get these garbage characters "� �". Not really
ServiceDesk Stopped Working After Server Reboot
Well, kind of... On the server running SD, it will launch but some functions do not work. For example, I cannot create a new request by clicking the button and clicking "About", "Feedback", "License", or "Personalize" do nothing, however clicking on "Help" works... If I launch ServiceDesk from another computer, like my laptop, all works. Both are using IE7 and I also have FireFox on my laptop. I will see if there are any MS updates that need to be applied to the server, but has anyone seen this behavior
Importing Assets via CSV mistakingly creates Requesters?
In ServiceDesk v7 7001 We have imported our user base via Active Directory, however when we attempt to import Assets from a CSV file, and we define a column for the User associated to the Asset, a new Requester is setup. So for instance we have a user called Geoff, whose details have been pulled across from Active Directory. Now when I import my Assets from a CSV file, I have a record for Geoff's laptop and a column titled "Allocated To". Upon completion of the import, I can go to my list of requesters

Is there plans to have separate forums for version 6 and 7 ? If not, it will get very confusing to figure out which messages relate to which version. And maybe separate forums for V7 ITIL and V7 Standard/Pro if the logic and/or coding behind the softwares differ greatly and the development teams are not the same. Thanks.
Service Desk 7
If one was to do a clean SD 7 Enterprise install could one then export the SD 6 data to SD 7 Enterprise? That would help in starting using SD7 with the new features in inventory for example. And then the historical data can be imported into it as a txt or csv file. Do you think this can be possible?
Auditing Macs and PCs not always connected to network

Searching in requests in ServiceDesk Plus 6
Good day, I'm trying the software and i found out that the search option to search through all the requests is not searching under the resolution tab in the requests. Is that normal? Is that something that was modified in v.7? It would be useful to be able to search for stuff that was written under the resolution tab even if we don't save them in the solutions database.
Allowing a requester to view all the requests by thier dept.
I checked the box in the requester's details to "Allow to see all requests for the department" and still this doesn't give the user rights to view all the departmental requests and Yes the deparments are pulling from Active Directory
SD 7
Hi, I'm testing the new Service Desk 7 and I did a full scan, but some switches and printers got classified as workstations. Is there a way to move it to the switch or printer category, I really wouldn't want them to be in workstations. Thanks.
Where is the "Client" field defined?
I am looking at the online demo of Service Desk and it looks like there is a new field called "client" that is available for requests. I have checked the Admin tab, but I cannot find where this picklist is defined. Can somebody throw me a bone here?

Deleting requesters does not remove associations
Our group spends quite a bit of time on Account Administration as there is lots of movement and turnover of users. It seems when you delete requesters SD+ does not remove the associations to the assets. Is there a setting that I may be missing in order for this to happen automatically? Thx Build 7004

While creating purchase order when I enter an item it takes the default description but there are certain item like servers whihc will have different configuration like dl360 with 4 hard disk or 2 Hard disk ,2gb RAM which is must in aP.O. as this will justify the exact requirement. Also If I have registered two organization and if i want to create P.O. on the basis of the organization then how can I have two organization in organization details.
MSSQL - Convert UNIX time
Hello, We are running SD6+ with MSSQL 2003 as the DB. I am creating a new custom query to pull assets and who they are loaned to incluiding start and end dates, but have encountered and issue with the dates being stored in UNIX time and MSSQL not having any inbuilt methods of translatting UNIX Time to human readable time. I am after a way for me to be able to write a query that will convert the time from UNIX time to human readable time. Thanks, Matt
