SD+6 to 7 Upgrade - Let the public help you to help us!
Dear Adventnet Team,
Please consider this suggestion as based on the current tremendous frustration of your current paying client base who has been eagerly awaiting the ability to upgrade to 7.0 for a very long time now; I think it would be prudent of you to consider the following recommendation.
You have a huge base of capable individuals in the technology field that I am sure are more than willing to provide you with "free" quality assurance release testing. My recommendation is to publish a link whereby anyone wanting to "test" the current 6.0 to 7.0 application upgrade can do so. I would explicitly outline that this is done in a test environment and not done in production and that you are not responsible for problems in production until a "final" release is provided.
By doing so, this will give all of us a chance to provide you valuable insight from the perspective of the customer. By also getting us involved, I feel you are demonstrating to all of us that you value our opinions and recommendations. The current forum has gotten completely out of control whereby most requests are simply sent into a black hole without any consistent follow through.
I think ultimately by involving more of the customer base, you will at least appease the masses in helping everyone to understand the complexity required in coding this update. This in turn will also help all of us to understand the "real" timelines involved for implementation. Finally, by involving all of us, we could help provide what the true level of effort is to properly code this upgrade solution through our collective testing and help. This will ultimately allow Adventnet to provide accurate actual milestone release timelines that consistently are met.
