error adding vsphere esx host OpManager 8.7
Hi - I keep getting the following error message when I try to add an ESX host: Failed to connect to the webservice (Device Name/Credentials are wrong) 1) the web service is running on the esx server 2) I've verified the credentials a number of times 3) I've tried to add it both by name and IP 4) I've personally logged on to the web service to verify that it was running and that the credentials are correct any help would be appreciated - Thanks
Custom Query-Report for "Close Comments" not working anymore with 7.6 Build 7608
Dear ServiceDesk Plus-Team, Some time ago, you provided me a custom Query to use for reporting the "Close Comments" written by the Users when they closed an Incident. This Query worked well in our ServiceDesk Plus installation of Version 7.0 Build 7022. However, we have a new SD+ installation in use now, with the most recent Version 7.6 Build 7608. filter rules in user defined views don´t work
Hi all, when i create a user defined view in SD+ with several filter rules, the system seems to become the more confused, the more filters i set. eg: - I filter on status "resolved" --> only resolved requests are shown. (ony 17 because of autoclose) - i add AND ticketnumber > 1000 ==> ALL tickets > Tickt-id 1000 are shown regardless the status, 2308 results. - i add AND technician = myname ==> 109 MORE tickets than before are shown (my ticket count is 294) Versioin 7.6 build 7603 - help please!

All of the graphs in statistics intervals are behind by one hour. I'm running OpManager 7 Distributed Edition build number: 7502 I saw a couple of things about java time, but the jre that ships w/ OpManager 7 is: java version "1.5.0_11" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_11-b03, mixed mode) and I thought that the tzupdater is problematic only for java 1.4. trying to add a new host but get a blank page
Hi I downloaded trial version of ELA v6, and when I try to add a new host I get a blank page so I can't setup a UNIX host to test ELA. I also get this error: erver Name : - Server IP : - Listening Port(s) : - Note:- Default Listening Port 513 has already been occupied . So add a new port to listen for event logs. Dear Sir, I installed event log analyzer V6 in redhat enterprise linux 5.3. when i run /etc/init.d/eventloganalyzer start, it show me that is started and it is stopped automatically again after many seconds. Thanks

Seperate Arguments for Interface and Interface Problem Type
I am trying to setup OpManager to pass SNMP traps to a remote system based upon different alarm types. The way the notification profiles can be assigned to a device is that they are assigned to all interfaces or to a set of interfaces but there is no seperation for errors, discards, status, and utilization that I see. I was wondering if there was some variable that could be added to the notification profile to lookup the interface that is having the problem and which of the interface problem types
Device is not reachable, but can ping and walk mib.
I have eight of these devices added, but when I try to add this one it tells me that it is not reachable. I can ping it from the OpManager server and use the mib tool to walk the mib, so it is there and accessible. I have tried adding it by IP and by host name with the same result. Where should I start to troubleshoot this? Thanks
Desktop Central patchlist & MS Update dont match
I am trialing this software and I have observed that MS reports that there are updates available, but desktop central doesn't seem to see them; specifically Malicous software removal tool, windows defender updates and outlook junk email filter. I am new to the software, and I have read many of the KBs and FAQs, but couldn't seem to find a mention of this exact issue. Obviously I'd like to turn off auto update on all systems, so what am I missing? Thanks

Setup technicians
I'd like to know if it is possible, and how to do it, so that technicians cannot assign requests to other technicians. I'd like to have 2 roles, one that is full control, and one for level 1 techs who can pickup a ticket, but are unable to assign it off to someone else. Any help would be appreciated.
Allowing a technician to Pickup but not Assign
I am trying to prevent my techs from assigning tickets to other techs and only allow them to pick up unassigned tickets. When I uncheck "assign" in the roles they now longer havve the abilty to pickup. Should this not be seperated?
Security Issue if we unable to change admin password
We are using ServiceDesk Plus 5.5 with AD authentication enabled. We know from the other comment that we cannot change password in ServiceDesk Plus when the AD Authentication is enabled. However, there is a security weakness. The administrator account of local is still there and it is still be a default password which was known by all technician since we have started its implementation. Now, I would like to change password of administrator account to be known by only administrator but I can't do

I'm running Debian (squeeze) and cannot seem to get SupportCenter to run. I have attempted to get it going on two machines at this point and 'both' have failed with the same message leading me to believe there is definitely an issue at this point. Images in Solutions disappear after a day or so
I have a bunch of Solution documents. In most of these I have inserted, from file, a .gif image. The images display perfectly when I create the Solution document. They are perfect when I open the solution document after I have approved it. They display perfectly if I log in as someone else and open the document. Then, after a day or so, when I go back in and open the document again, the image has been replaced with the standard internet red x can't display image icon. Any help appreciated!
"Paper jam" warnings from printers don't clear
I get a "Trouble" alarm from printers whenever there is a paper jam - no real problem there. The problem is that the alarm does not clear when someone fixes the paper jam, I always have to manually clear it. Is there any way of forcing OpManager to recheck the status of the printer and if it's OK, clear the alarm? Thanks.
Can ADManager Plus create a container in a new OU?
I would like to create new OU's for different departments and then create Users containers within the new OU's to hold the users for those departments. I see in ADMP how to create the OU's but I don't see any way to create a new Users container within an OU. Is it possible? Thanks, Ari
Opmanager discovers device but doesn't show in any view
I'm running Opmanager build 8720 and having troubles with discovery. 1. When I do a discovery for a number of Cisco devices as well as some Windows Servers it says it found them, I click import, but I can find them in any view or through the query tool. Is there a way to troubleshoot what's happening? A log file I should be looking at? I should say that the bulk of my devices are being discovered fine. 2. Home Directory Issues
My templates are set to map a U: drive to a network folder location based on the username of the user. I had to recreate all accounts so I deleted all accounts and ran the template again which mapped the U: drive correctly to the users folder. However, when a user logs in now they can not access this folder and the mapping is one layer above the folder it should map. When I look at the network folder security tab I see a hexadecimal entry where the username should be. Needing resolution here.
How do you configure OpManger to monitor PortChannels?
I have a 3 port (1 gigabit each) port channel that is in alarm. The alarm states that current IN traffic is 63.47Mbps(63.47%). This is wrong. There is 300Mbps available in the channel. How do I get OpManager to understand bandwidth of the port channel? TIA

Password compliance report and File Store type
Hello, I'm just wondering why PMP reports "Reason: Error in validating rule" on a File Store resource type? I've even tried to set a new "No policy" custom policy (ie. with no requirements) to don't make it complain, but it hasn't worked out. What is the sense of assigning a Policy to a Resource if it contains a File Store resource type? It produces that error that of course is misleading. For example, it obviously cannot parse a PDF file to say that is compliant... Maybe you should fix it and avoid
